Why Buy VRC?
« on: October 16, 2014, 12:53:56 pm »

Why are we buying so much VRC instead of just doing the revenue share? If VRC was to crash (likely) then down goes the value of our supernet, no?

My assessment is different. VRC + SuperNET will make VRC worth more. Also this is less than 2% of capital at risk, which is an acceptable risk factor.

Hmm it just seems like VRC doesn't do anything especially unique that bitcoin can't do. It doesn't seem like we need any VRC to actually make this GUI work either. Is this trade their only payment for making this GUI?

VRC community has been very supportive and active for SuperNET. I think you underestimate the value of both this and GUI. The idea for SuperNET is to get different coins to be working together. It is not just about minimizing the costs to implement GUI. In any case longzai is having his workload explode and he can use all the help he can get. Unless you are able to help with GUI?

Well I guess even though I already feel like keeping up with the ongoings of everything is a full time job there is still plenty that I miss! The purchase req was the first I heard of VRC. Either way, I have been trying to put myself out there to help on something supernet quite a bit but have been met with no responses. I am no graphic designer but I am pretty good coder so please let me know if there is something I can do part time to get my foot in the door!

we definitely need somebody to write unit tests for all the SuperNET API
at first it can just be shell scripts, basically any language will do

here is the current list of API and I seem to add a few more everyday:

   // multisig
    static char *cosign[] = { (char *)cosign_func, "cosign", "V", "otheracct", "seed", "text", 0 };
    static char *cosigned[] = { (char *)cosigned_func, "cosigned", "V", "seed", "result", "privacct", "pubacct", 0 };

    // Kademlia DHT
    static char *ping[] = { (char *)ping_func, "ping", "V", "pubkey", "ipaddr", "port", "destip", 0 };
    static char *pong[] = { (char *)pong_func, "pong", "V", "pubkey", "ipaddr", "port", 0 };
    static char *store[] = { (char *)store_func, "store", "V", "pubkey", "key", "name", "data", 0 };
    static char *findvalue[] = { (char *)findvalue_func, "findvalue", "V", "pubkey", "key", "name", "data", 0 };
