SuperNET Assets: Nxt AE > Komodo Migration
« on: October 21, 2017, 12:30:55 am »

jl777 has published today this update and asked me to manage the communication with the Nxt community:

Quote from: jl777
The following are the KMD assetchains that correspond to NXT assets:
SuperNET: {"result":"success","coin":"SUPERNET","lastnotarization":4687,"bestheight":4693}
NXTprivacy: {"result":"success","coin":"JUMBLR","lastnotarization":6458,"bestheight":6465}
InstantDEX: {"result":"success","coin":"DEX","lastnotarization":4430,"bestheight":4430}
NXTcoinsco: {"result":"success","coin":"BOTS","lastnotarization":4451,"bestheight":4456}
sharkfund0: {"result":"success","coin":"SHARK","lastnotarization":2167,"bestheight":2167}
crypto777: {"result":"success","coin":"CRYPTO","lastnotarization":4931,"bestheight":4942}
jl777hodl: {"result":"success","coin":"HODL","lastnotarization":4656,"bestheight":4665}
pangea: {"result":"success","coin":"PANGEA","lastnotarization":4283,"bestheight":4283}
privatebet: {"result":"success","coin":"BET","lastnotarization":4570,"bestheight":4575}
MGW: {"result":"success","coin":"MGW","lastnotarization":4612,"bestheight":4661}

The above 10 will be swapped to the corresponding KMD assetchains. In order to redeem, transfer the asset to the SuperNET account NXT-MRBN-8DFH-PFMK-A4DBM with a permanent message that has the KMD format address they want the assetchain coins sent to.

The transfers will be processed prior to any dividends that are sent out, which means if you dont transfer before the payout date, you will miss out on that payout. However, I cannot promise any specific date for the conversion, only that if you do the above asset transfer before payouts, you wont miss any payouts.

First payout will be for crypto777 CRYPTO and currently has approx 50 BTC accrued in https://blockchain.info/address/1P3rU1Nk1pmc2BiWC8dEy9bZa1ZbMp5jfg. I expect the payout to be processed in December. SuperNET's share of this is approx 12 BTC. Good news is BTC txfees got low enough to consolidate all the small transactions, so it will be possible to send out the dividend after it is converted to KMD. It isnt that big of an amount, but we have to start somewhere.

The asset transfer swaps will be open until March 1st 2018, which is over 4 months from now, we have learned the pains of having a one year swap period! Please do not complain that it is not long enough. It is not clear how much longer the NXT chain will have enough forging percentage to keep it secure, so time is of the essence.

After that date, there is no assurance that the NXT assets will have any value, they will not be eligible for swaps, so would be like BTCD which also wont have any conversion rights.

NXTventure will have its significant holdings distributed out proportionally to the holders as of the end of November to allow time for people to swap received assets into assetchain coins before the first CRYPTO payout in December.

SuperNETx2 will receive 1 SuperNET and 1 REVS to approximate its double revshare. I know it isnt exactly the same, but it is a rough match.

I will take care of the user support in the Nxt side, so for any doubts about how to send the assets please ask in this topic. However, here's the available information in clear bullet points:

- Which assets are being migrated from Nxt to Komodo?

This is the list of source Nxt assets with their destination token name in Komodo, and the corresponding asset ID in the Nxt AE:

- SuperNET > SUPERNET
Asset ID: 12071612744977229797

- NXTprivacy > JUMBLR
Asset ID: 17911762572811467637

- InstantDEX > DEX
Asset ID: 15344649963748848799

- NXTcoinsco > BOTS
Asset ID: 17571711292785902558

- sharkfund0 > SHARK
Asset ID: 3006420581923704757

- crypto777 > CRYPTO
Asset ID: 13476425053110940554

- jl777hodl > HODL
Asset ID: 6932037131189568014

- Pangea > PANGEA
Asset ID: 6883271355794806507

- Privatebet > BET
Asset ID: 17083334802666450484

- MGW > MGW
Asset ID: 10524562908394749924

- SuperNETx2 > SUPERNET + REVS
Asset ID: 13502152099823770958
Note: 1 SuperNETx2 asset will be swapped for 1 SUPERNET + 1 REVS

- How to send your assets for migration?

Send your assets to NXT-MRBN-8DFH-PFMK-A4DBM, the official SuperNET account in Nxt, adding to the asset transfer a permanent message (make sure you check the "Message is Never Deleted" option under the message box in the Nxt Client) with the destination Komodo address where you want your tokens to be delivered when the swaps are processed. To obtain a Komodo address if you don't have one, check the Komodoplatform website for upcoming new download links for the Agama wallet (update: they are already available at https://www.supernet.org/en/products/agama-wallet). Advanced users can also try the Komodod client repository, or whoever only wants to generate quickly a Komodo address, the Komodo Paper Wallet Generator.

IMPORTANT: If you have any doubts or support requests for the Agama wallet or Komodo in general, please go to the SuperNET Slack and ask in the #agama or #komodo channels. This NxtForum topic is ONLY to provide user support for sending the Nxt assets to swap correctly.

The transfer of the new tokens to Komodo addresses will start to be processed by jl777 in December, and the swap process will be open until March 1st, 2018. For other announcement details, please check the quote in the top of this post. If you have any doubts, please ask and I will contact jl777 if necessary.

For desktop end users, https://www.supernet.org/en/products/agama-wallet

But please address any questions about Agama / Komodo to the SuperNET slack.

I don't get this part:

Quote from: jl777
NXTventure will have its significant holdings distributed out proportionally to the holders as of the end of November to allow time for people to swap received assets into assetchain coins before the first CRYPTO payout in December.

It will be distributed to holders of NXTVenture then? Since it's isn't on the list for the swap - does it mean it will be added later? Or do you mean the holdings go to the owners of the other assets?
And Agama is the beta-wallet for now until the client is ready?

NXTventure contents will be sent to NXTventure holders, in proportion
one of these things you get will be crypto777, which you can then convert normally
so do not redeem NXTventure, just wait until the distribution and convert the crypto777 and whatever else you receive.

Yes and new Agama beta wallet release soon with export wallet.dat feature

if i already have a KMD address, can i use that as my swap address for all assets or do they require a new KMD address for each unique asset?

You can use the same address for all swaps, or different ones, as you prefer.

I can't imagine that too many holders of these assets will come across this thread - not sure how I stumbled upon it but I guess I'm glad I did.  For most of these assets, in what form or currency will these 'payouts' be made?  What happens to most holders of these assets that never come across this thread and then say it's July 2018?

This process will swap the assets in the Nxt blockchain for their counterparts in the Komodo platform, where SuperNET development moved time ago. Check https://supernet.org or https://komodoplatform.com for more info.

If any asset holder finds out too late, they can always ask to SuperNET devs, but in principle the deadline is clear. SuperNET/Komodo has announced this in several fronts, and it is everyone's responsibility to keep track regularly of the projects they have invested into.

What I understand from this is that if an account already owns a portfolio of these assets, including NXTventure, one should wait until the end of November, when the NXTventure holding will be distributed, before sending any assets back to the SuperNET account. That's because NXTventure will distribute more of the other assets (SuperNET, InstantDEX, NXTprivacy, etc) and this way the assets would be pooled together and can be sent only once.

Otherwise, if one sends the assets now, and more of the same assets are received at the end of November, a new tx has to be made to send the newly received assets (so one extra avoidable tx per asset).

What I don't understand is what happens if the NXTventure assets are transferred to the SuperNET address now, before the distribution scheduled for the end of November.

The NXTventure assets are not redeemed in this process. They have no counterpart in Komodo, so they never are meant to be sent to the SuperNET swap address. The rest of your assumptions are correct.

I had overlooked the Komodo Paper Wallet Generator in the first post, for whoever only wants the obtain a Komodo address without running a client.

Reminder from jl777 to all holders of his assets (SuperNET, NXTprivacy, NXTcoinsco, instantDEX, sharkfund0, crypto777, jl777hodl, pangea, privatebet, MGW): The migration to the assets to the Komodo platform is happening, and you're encouraged to send your assets for swapping as soon as possible.

Please check the first post in this topic for details to swap your assets.

i could use some help here with the asset swap - not too sure about this komodo thinger - so i downloaded agama, have it synched in native mode... i have an komodo address i think, but also see now that if you activate a coin, say like Pangea, that will give you a separate komodo address for Pangea... i sent a few assets already but only mentioned the single komodo address (before activating any coins) - thanks. i guess somewhere over in bitcointalk there may be a asset migration status report showing which assets showed up with what komodo address.  maybe i can track down the latest one.

You can use your general Komodo address for the assets transfer, no need to create other addresses.

ok thanks!  another komodo/agama native mode question that maybe you can answer.  when are you prompted for an account password?  when trying to send assets somewhere maybe?  most wallets (including the nxt client) you need to set up an initial account password to get the client up and running.  i was not prompted to do that to get agama to synch with the network.  thanks again.

Unlike Nxt, Agama (Komodo) uses a wallet.dat file to store the address keys, so it does not ask for a password, it just accesses the wallet file in the default path, or the path defined in settings.

But as requested in the first post, please go to the SuperNET slack for further Agama / Komodo user support, as this is not the point of this topic. Invites for SuperNET slack can be requested here.

jl777 is busy with many things as usual, and he said he'd process the swap in batches. Since the first batch processed in the end of October had few people swapping, I understand he'll wait this time for a bigger amount in queue, perhaps in the end of this month.

Question:

1) I downloaded Agama. I synced the chain. In "receive" it gives me an address. I have activated a few coins, and these give me different addresses. Do I send all these addresses (with corresponding coins) or just one, and if the last, which one?

2) MGW will *not* sync, no matter what I do. I have asked in channels, and no one can give me an answer. Anyone experience something similar?

By the way, the error I get from the MGW chain is "unable to establish RPC connection".

Thanks to @Nabob and @grewalsatinder on the #support channel on Supernet slack, I at least solved the address issue.

You can export your main KMD private key.

1) ensure you have KMD selected
2) Go to the "Receive" Tab
3) Go to the address you want to export and click on the "i" button to the left of it.
4) Choose "copu priv key (WIF)"
5) make sure you keep this safe. Never post it anywhere!
6) Go to the coin asset you want to have the same address
7) At the top of the app, click "Import Key"
8) Enter your Priv Key into the "WIF (Wallet Import Format)", also ask to do a rescan
9) Click "Import"
10) After rescan is done, you should now see your KMD address under the "Receive" tab in the Asset coin chain.

Hope this helps! :)

Damelon, wish I would have seen this earlier (so I would have grabbed a copy of my private key, all I have is the public receive address) as I've sort of run into another Komodo issue - for purposes of the migration, I downloaded the latest Agama wallet in order to obtain a Komodo address - it took some time but finally fully downloaded so I was able to see my Agama wallet address.  I sent over an initial group of assets to the migration site (not all), but now I am unable to get Agama to re-synch, I keep getting 'bug error' messages so now I can not fully synch to see my Receive address (it doesn't let you hit the Receive button until it's synched).  So to the extent the first batch of swapped assets were sent out, not sure how to get to them.

You can export your main KMD private key.
3) Go to the address you want to export and click on the "i" button to the left of it.
4) Choose "copu priv key (WIF)"
Nothing happens, btw there is some icon near address there saying "you don't own private keys for this address"  :'(
wtf? >:( I created new KMD wallet and i dont have private keys?  ???

i finally figured out my problem - are you in the full native mode (not lite)?  Can you click on the Iguana image, then Settings then Wallet.dat keys... select your coin and put in your public address, your pvt key should pop up then

The swap to Komodo is not automated. As explained in the first post, jl777 will run all the asset swaps in batches, sending in Komodo all the assets received since the previous batch. He ran one in the beginning of December, so perhaps the next one will be in the beginning of January. When he does, the assets you've transferred should appear in the corresponding chain in the Agama (Komodo) wallet. For any questions about the Komodo side, you can join their slack - https://komodo-platform.slack.com

VanBreak (or Damelon if you happen to see this) you have been around forever so I trust your opinion - there is an article today in the Wall Street Journal, page 1, about people losing their crypto passwords and along the way their monies - what would you recommend for storing wallet passwords?  For instance, a password for a NXT account?  Sure printing out a hard copy would be the safest (something off line) but I'm wondering about a super strong password with like 32 random characters.  Thanks!

https://nxtwiki.org/wiki/Secure_Your_NXT

An observation: for Nxt, a 32 random characters password is not a particularly super strong password. A truly random 32 characters password with letters, symbols and numbers can round 170 bytes of entropy. In comparison, the Nxt wallet generates twelve word seeds that exceed 300 bits of entropy. It is preferable to use the wallet generated passphrases instead of generating your own password unless you know well what you're doing.

There can be different ways to securely save a Nxt (or Ardor) passphrase. Even if you memorize it with a little practice it is a good idea to save a copy.

Without going as far as generating the passphrase offline, using password manages like Keepass is a good idea. You can create a password database, protecting it with a master password that you can remember, secure enough to protect the file against bruteforcing attempts in case of loss. Then you save your passwords in that database, run a backup of the database after important changes and keep the backup somewhere safe.

After this, please let's keep this thread on topic about the SuperNET assets swap.

I realize that I still have supernet assets on the nxt chain that I need to move to the komodo chain. Is it still possible by sending the supernet assets to the mentioned address? thanks already!
