Will you implement the TF before you leave?

If I don't have time then I'll leave instructions how to do it. 95% of the code already written.

His statement right now are somehow contradicting with what he said before.

I have become an obstacle on Nxt's road to success. Too many things r centered on me.

Well, true. But you still have to implement TF, that's a mission of honor, and you gave your word ;) After that, peaceful retirement in a tropical island :)

Imo, the best thing you should do is prepare legacy by telling what you know to others, but do not threat of leaving in 4 weeks. Nothing good gonna happen from that. You shoud leave on when you know that more than 1 person know what you already know and that you are 100% sure that they understand your knownledge. Chuckone is a good candidate, but another person would be good too. Make some group discussion with people you have confidence in them. Make sure they know what you know before leaving.

That would be a good legacy.

Only telling to Chuckone would simply centered thing on him instead of you. You need to pass knowledge to more than one person if you want it to survive for sure.

I'm going to retire coz of exactly this reason - to remove dependency on a single person. If ChuckOne doesn't want to get my knowledge of Nxt then u should find someone else or sell all ur NXT. Let's set a deadline - 4 weeks starting from this moment.

We need time to do this. If you drop out, then I am again this single person. Furthermore, 4 weeks might be too short for this.

Let us make a compromise in order to achieve a smooth transition period:

1) We take those 4 weeks during which you hand over the legacy to me.
2) After that, you stay available for 6 further months for consulting.
3) During the first 3 months, we will prepare a document which archive and secure the legacy for future generations.

Another thing, which I think is important to know: do you drop out of development in one month, too? If so, I would be glad if you could find a loyal successor for your development position.

Valid point, in this case I should stop writing Smart Contracts and Coin Shuffling.

Another thing would be good, leave only when you finish the thing you started. Stop coding new stuff would be a good start. Leaving only pieces is not very good.

We already suffer from this - people don't try to improve Nxt, they only talk about the price.

3) During the first 3 months, we will prepare a document which archive and secure the legacy for future generations.

This legacy is just plans of one guy, build ur own future.

Here is a good plan,

1) Finish the thing you are currently coding and promise to implement.

2) Pass knownledge of future feature (not code yet) to chuckone, ideally more than only him.

3) Dont start coding on new stuff! So you can leave in good term your legacy.

4) Live happy ever after... And every one is happy. Nxt will be in the hand of the community.

In that case TF is less important, somebody else will do TF :)

Sounds good, but I can't do some things right now, coz I'm waiting for DB stuff.

True what you said.

However, please consider some sort of middle course. Not too fast, not too slow. I just would like your promise to stay available for some time after those 4 weeks. Is that too much to be asked for?

Let us start with the transition Monday evening. That give us some time to relax before starting. You should take that time out, too.

Undersood, so start 2). And come back to 1 after DB. Dont forget 3) if you want to leave in good term.

It's a half-measure.

I think you could be available for consulting, but simply just don't code anything. Just like professsor do with their student. Professor don't usually code, the student are tho. My professors, don't even look at the code I write.

I do not trust BCNext on this issue. History tells a different story. Successful projects take a conservative and progressive path.

There are dozens of different people working on various different projects, businesses etc. around Nxt. People contribute where they see a need depending on their skillset. Some market, some code, some start businesses, some trade, some build websites. Do you want hundreds of people who don't know Java to start working on the core? Is it in the core where you are seeing the need for contribution that isn't being fulfilled?

People also talk about price. It's human nature. It's kind of a metric about whether the work being put in is successful enough. Is it the conflict in recent threads that has brought this on?

I thought you would retire to your desert island on 24th November 2014 after transparent forging has been implemented.
