A lot of you may remember David's artwork from the original AD&D hardcover rulebooks... his work fired my imagination in late childhood/early teens. His B&W illustrations in the original Monster Manual... I can't find the words. Browsing through his work in google images is like looking at a scrapbook of my childhood. Whether it was a sweltering summer day or freezing winter night, I held David's work in my hands. It feels strange tearing up, but looking at his artwork brings back so many good memories.

This article describes David's strange disappearance from the gaming industry and the sad turn of events:

If you're so inclined, do a google image search of David Trampier.

ya those illustrations were just so crude and bizarre... totally memorable for sure.  They recently republished the original D&D which few people have ever laid eyes on.
