Stressful situation, right answer, ASAP,

I just want to recall that NXT way of working was not the problem. it just works very basically.
The problem was created by marketing (arbitrary scarcity) combined to high demand (whale working hard to maximise return). Marketing often create new type of pressure. That's why it is hard, or almost impossible, to have a general solution that satisfy all cases. Unless it is very basic, and can be modulate. Which is what this tech always aimed be.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: IGNIS ICO
« on: August 05, 2017, 02:02:08 pm »
I'm thinking about writing my own bot but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort when nobody will care about Ignis after this happened.^^

Yes, write one, give it to every one, ask for donation, or let's ask NXT-MAAC.. to release his API calls.
JLRDA could release API calls as well, and some of us could program stuffs in various languages pretty quick.

The more using programatic buy the more random the distribution as it is intended to be.
If not changed structurally, it will be programatic first anyway.
This reminds me the launch of the alias system.

Problem with database, last time I had this on my raspberry pi II, I started over completely, but it took a week! Perhaps someone can help with recovery tool..
If you do not really need full node, and are low in RAM (as I expect this problem to be related) it should work in light client mode. Google how to.

When I discovered NXT in Dec 2013, as an engineer and e-business creator (I make a living from 100% pure e-business revenues since 2005 not related to cryptos), it was like I stumbled upon The dream team.

It naturally formed around an audacious inventor, with the objective to offer the world a decentralized versatile ledger optimized from the initial version of Satoshi Nakamoto.

This team could not have formed if it had to be hired, it is the vision of the challenge, that attracted some of the best talents of the world.

By luck, the developers where cautious enough to not implement all the fun and exciting ideas that'd pop up at that time, despite market cap boosting pressure and very little funding resources, but limited themselves to what was foreseen safe over the long run.

This mix of both audacity and wise auto restriction, combined with the obvious presence of strong professional experience from various field of activities of most of the community members, including my field of expertise, was a super clear sign for me, that what was being built here, was the best could be engineered over the blockchain concept.

NXT was, is, and will remain, the ultimate blockchain.

But as every blockchain, it is limited by blockchain size, which means, in term of long term business planing, despite all you can hear around the blockchains these days, due to transactions competition, only business dealing with very high value transactions (or very rare) are safe to organize activities around blockchains. The lower, the value of the transactions, the shorter, the duration where any activity can survive with the use of blockchains (unless it plans for a decrease of usage frequency).

With childchain pruning, Ardor is the NXT answer to this limit, it widen the scope of usability, because it largely increases the time any business can consider to be able to benefit from the blockchains.

In short, Ardor is a crucial step toward mainstream blockchain adoption. It is the step of the dream team that already deployed the ultimate blockchain which is running without a single record of incident for nearly 4 years!

In the meanwhile, Ardor fils the unique failure of NXT: the lack of funding for development and marketing. The sale of Ignis tokens should compensate for it.

NXT will remain useful for it's simplicity, known stability and higher transparency. Activities with very high value transactions who will never fear worldwide transactions competition should always consider using the original NXT chain.

Anyone who plans to innovate his business field with the use of blockchains, is either not well informed about cryptosphere, or not serious with his long term branding, if he does not spend the little time required to consider running on NXT or ARDOR.

"From the beginning CfB was telling that BCNext was going to quit, CfB was telling that CfB worked by a contract which would end pretty soon." This work out with the story CfB always told in the past.

No, because, at that time, CFB never (I'm not 100% sure about "never") wrote BCNext was going to quit, but BCNext did (this I'm 100% sure). Why would, at that time, CFB tells us about BCNext intentions ?
So when he says: "I was telling that BCNext.. blabla.. I (as CFB)..blabla" he admits he was BCNext "voice".

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Sergey Ivancheglo is BCnext

CfB did not claim he was BCnext on the 12th july on slack, he only claimed that he worked as CfB as a contracted from BCnext (as everyone know well).

"From the beginning I was telling that BCNext was going to quit, I was telling that I (as CFB) worked by a contract which would end pretty soon."

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Sergey Ivancheglo is BCnext

It was written somewhere on iota's official website, CFB is using BCNext as pseudo on Reddit for more than a
year and on nxtslack in #random on 12th July he claimed it directly explaining that he as BCNext had always said that he will leave and as CFB that he was only working under contract. Perhaps slack did not deleted yet, have a look.

This is no proof, I believe there is no proof possible anymore, we all know the genesis passphrase, and when he disapeared BCNext gave CFB, every credentials. Only probability is quite high that it can true.

If true, it is legit that David uses BCNext reputation to sale his soup.

If bullshit, CFB is evil, which is hard to believe.

But everything is possible because CFB knows that if BCNext would dare to react to such an usurpation, he would have no proof to use.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: IOTA relation with NXT...
« on: July 20, 2017, 07:03:22 pm »
Come-from-Beyond was first to offer help to BCNext,

CFB has been playing for years about the possibility he would be BCNext or not, It started once it coud not be proven. But I have never seen him saying "I am BCNext". However, he has taken BCNext pseudo on reddit... Some people do not believe it to be true. I sometimes do sometimes not.

Mathcl wrote a math white paper on NXT and the Tangle white paper

I do not know if David was on nxtforum before he acted under Triangle to promote the JINN asset.
This is IOTA related but before IOTA was annonced (I realize this was less than 1 year after nxt launch.. amazing..)

There are not exactly good relation between IOTA and Jelurida, I do not know the reason, but I could feel tension (for instance why not using NXT for IOTA genesis but instead use Bitcoin? Would have been so easy and flexible)
But 10 days ago, while I still not know the real background of it, it turn out to reveal some kind of personal ongoing chess game between some of the most important people.

Jean Luc is anonymous and became NXT main developer, he has been working purely voluntarily on NXT for years, he is now the Jelu of Jelurida, The industrial grade of NXT is greatly due to Jean Luc expertise.
I do not know if, but do not believe that Riker or Damelon nor Mathcl have any take on this underlying dislike that Jean Luc and CFB+David has now made visible to me. So it is not a IOTA/Jelurida story, but there is some human story there.

Technically wise, NXT and IOTA are very different and they do not target the same market. NXT is web based network for human to exchange digital value, IOTA is designed for machine mostly in mesh network environment. NXT is well proven in practice with long smooth history, IOTA not. Low use level fits perfect for NXT, IOTA claims it will shine with super intensive use. In the end they may compete but for long, they are in different waters.

ETH is a kid toy (sometimes toys turn out to be great invention, but odd is low and toy with large money in is scary..).

@bancodesementes it looks like you got the right idea and that @bjorn_blockchain have drawn it better. It is probably frustrating but it means you would have formed the perfect team. I didn't review all the thread perhaps bjorn will have a different take on it. But a flame made of 90 deg turned N was a clearly brillant idea. If it"s yours congrats, whatever logos is selected. By the way, remember ideas do not fall into intellectual property only work does. But you can still claim the paternity of an idea.

really good

Nxt General Discussion / Re: If you do not forge, Nxt dies...
« on: July 11, 2017, 09:04:53 am »
To make it easier :
pool plugin ?
:7876/pool <- instructions on how to lease forge with us, set up fund returns and get alert to renew lease (lease forge with message)
:7876/plugin <- choose from available community pools (so you send your lease forge, with the right message by filling html form)

Then any forging node can be pool

But for selfish minds, only an increase of the flow of transactions can make forging "worth it" because of a visible lost return. Today the return is too small to even read about it.

Speculation looks like a great universal crowdfunding ressource but speculators do not care a shit about what they speculate on. Only real intensive usage can help.

Couldn't we have a "stop leasing" command hence very large max deadline ?

The flames made with a vertical N look like a smart idea to me.

When your initial funder sends you tokens, if he dares to also adds your PUBLIC key, you gain full security immediately (depends on him, poloniex does it)

If he sends without PUBLIC KEY, then, you need to send something to anyone (luker10 above advice), and then you also gain full security for ever. (In this case better initially fund with a small amount first, just in case..)

It is a one time process.

When you will build other accounts, for yourself, Riker procedure described above allows to set up fully secured storage accounts that never "touched" the internet. You will be the initial founder, and you can, with the client, add the public key of the "offline" account. The client checks if the public keys of the destination is known and, if not, offers to enter it.

I can answer a few :
If I am running a bundler, am I competing with all the other bundlers?

Why don't I just turn on my bundler and set my fee very low, process my own IGNIS transaction, and then turn off my bundler?

You can, but may not because the bundler must pay the forger with Ardor to gain the bundled transaction fees.

People should better understand that mynxt.info is a third party, doing a nice job but still a third party. Users of your coin should understand that too, because if it disappears, your project can continue thanks to the resiliency of the NXT network. That's why, you and your users should have the knowledge to not depend on a third party, this is a strong component of the value of your coin compared to one that would simply be centralized.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Suggestion - set a max forging stake
« on: May 24, 2017, 02:39:57 pm »
How does having a bigger forging stake increase security?

bigger forging stake means bigger effort to acquire that stake, so increase of concern regarding security, for me is it the fundamental of the POS assumption.

But yes as already said, more nodes does not increase security, it increases resiliency.

Token price is the most important security factor.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Slack sucks
« on: May 24, 2017, 02:28:47 pm »
+1440 yes this forum makes the best job for our situation. No need to change theme (according to me). The only tiny thing i like in slack is the possibility to add emoticons to the posts of someone else (then readers shows up). A good plugin idea for SMF forum, and it may already exist.

This is a GREAT invention ! This JPL coinleft model should inspire a lot of people, one more thing you can be proud of guys !
You create a real ownership value to the first childchain coin that way. I like it much more.

If I'm not misinterpreting, NXT is still GPL and only Ardor will not be.
Ardor is not a new coin, it is an evolution of NXT that is available in the "traditional" way, Ardor source code is shared (not secret black box), so no one can seriously argue it is a scam. NXT has a great reputation record, if not the best.

NXT dev & community contributed enormously with this first fully working and clonable POS Network, now that the world has something of value to play with (but limited in scope), we are now in business with the full mounty, we still offer the world an opened network but you now have to play directly with it to benefit from it's full scaling creativity for free. Or you can still start from a NXT clone and compete with an Ardor of yours (but a pure creation, not a copy). So you will have to calculate... and may prefer to cooperate with the original instead or go for the 10% right which can be considered as a VERY good deal to legally acquire the right to use the technology. This is fair.

@d5000 The right to fork is preserved, only the right to clone now has a 10% cost. You assume GPL alike is a condition to some maximum success, but how to you know that in an era of conceptual innovation ?

I applaud 100%  ;D

Can this facts be made public? ???

This forum is public, jelurida.com is public so, the guys are not stupid.. so, nice to ask, but I'd bet you can.
