Français (French) / Re: Densité de la communauté FR ?
« on: December 13, 2017, 11:34:14 am »

You may like to try Shapeshift or Changelly from within the wallet, click on the double arrows (exchange) at the top menu bar of the wallet.

Probably the errors say what's wrong.
Isn't this about not being able to connect to the distant node ?
A light client connects to a node that has the blockchain.

To remove the stress, check your balance here : https://nxtportal.org/monitor/
you can also use client like this http://nxt.notbot.me:7876/index.html (you can connect with account ID only, passphrase would only be asked to sign transactions, signature would be done locally by your browser such that the node, never get to know your secret).

Let say 10 people decide to shuffle 5000 nxt

Each of them has 2 accounts, account A with at least 5000 nxt and account B.
They register with account A to a 5000 nxt shuffling, enter accountB ID in the form and let their client opened
once 10 people has done the same, shuffling occurs.
Every account A has 5000 nxt less and account B is credited.
World knows B was credited from shuffling
Wold knows A participated to shuffling
No one can relate A to B with certitude, probability is one out of 10.

That's what shuffling is about, to be hard to trace.

I tell you what I know that corresponds to your questions but I can not help you more because I do not understand your situation, read your posts again, we are not in your head.

Nxt Client Helpdesk / Re: Why is the localhost link not secure?
« on: December 11, 2017, 02:18:17 pm »
Nothing wrong, your browser is just not smart enough.

Browser tells you are on a "non secure site" when it connects in HTTP and not in HTTPS, or a poorly configured https.

But what is the difference ?

HTTPS means that the information exchanged between your browser and the site are encrypted. So in HTTP, when the site is distant, your informations travels in clear. And someone can manage to read them and see what you see.
But localhost is not distant. so informations travels in clear between you and .. you
So no one can intercept them. unless you are infected by a keylogger. But in this case, HTTPS would not be more secured anyway.

I do not know why browsers do no make exception for localhost or

To that, we must add the fact that the client (the code your browser download from the local server) does not communicate passphrase to the server, it signs transactions instead. Except for forging (that's why it is recommended to only forge on a node you control).

So, despite browser say, NXT client on localhost is super secure.

However I agree with you that now Jelurida has funding, they should spend time to preset https on jetty (if possible) such it does not feel weird.

The one who fund your account can publish the key. For instance poloniex does it. It is not a requirement, you can also get fund and then do any transaction, and then your pubkey will have been published.

My certitude is that the service telling you that your valid address is invalid is not communicating properly.
it is buggy and you should contact them. NXT-FM8W-E6Y2-39NB-3RFEU is absolutely 100% valid.
They probably do not know that they have a bug.

That's a question to ask the service provider because NXT-WZMJ-KWNA-52AT-EC9U2 is a correct ID.

Nxt Helpdesk / Re: Somebody took my NXT
« on: December 09, 2017, 10:40:44 am »
NXT-XVBJ-B8VA-Q7MB-HGZXQ received many transaction at once on August 20th 2017 16h17, so it is clear he has the key of these accounts sending him nxt and executed a program to empty them.
You have not used NXT since 2013, so you have either used this same passphrase for something unsafe, or you have saved it unencrypted where someone could access.

Nxt Helpdesk / Re: Search NXT account names?

returns accounts whose name or description contains "pool"

More details here : https://nxtwiki.org/wiki/The_Nxt_API#Search_Accounts

I don't think client does it.

1 passphrase = 1 unique account

The only ways to loose NXT are :

- loss of passphrase (funds stuck forever)
- passphrase exposed (funds stolen)
- misunderstanding of something (funds sent to the wrong destination)

As long as you see the publickKey, then it is ok, you have the right passphrase for your account.
The button to validate passphrase is just a "one more check" that you have the right passphrase, it does nothing with the blockchain itself and that's why it does not disappear.

Now you can go to the exchange, enter your account ID and the publicKey. Later the exchange will not ask for the publicKey anymore.

@bhawana, it is always safer to have download the blockchain as everything then works locally. In light mode, it is quite good too, for instance the passphrase is not transmitted to the distant node (except for forging, so don't if not https node address and your own node). As far as I can see, the only risk could be that a malicious node returns false info. If it is a node you trust, then no problem. Local blockchain removes any doubt.

I think you are messing up with passphrases, and the system tries to prevent you to make a mistake (like sending you  Nxt to an address you do not own).
You'd better logout and login with your passphrase, the account will then be different, use it.
Forget the previous NXT-WZMJ-KWNA-52AT-EC9U2 since you do not know it's passphrase (my guess)

The client tells you "welcome to your new NXT account" but this is a bit misleading since what you describe to see is what you see when you log with the account Id (and not with the passphrase), then the systems knows that this account has never been used (cause pubkey was never published) but it is not necessarily yours (i can log in it too) It would be clearer if, instead, it said : "This a new account....."
Only when we log with the passphrase, the client should write: "this is your new account".

Yep making it profitable to make the world better is what it is about.

Blockchain "apps" will help provided some match market wishes. As we are now funded by our speculative side, which also bet on these coming matches, the best is to favor everything related with market discovery.

Anything that helps blockchain "apps" to be quickly confronted to market will help. With a swiss knife like Nxt wallet, apps do not necessarily need to be programmed to run production experiments. When apps are preferred, we have super API, more and more github libs to makes things faster. Other blockchains will help people go on board the way they feel better with.

In the end, the outcome seems inevitable, people will learn to secure keys and the whole way we web interact will be improved.

Good news, Congratulation qbtc, I'm sure you'll do it very well !

With NXT Private blockchain evaluation kit you can have your own testnet, but block confirmation time will still be 1 min in average.
You would need to take the official version and modify the java code + compile to build a private prototype that forge faster.
What are you testing for 1440 blocks / 24h be too small ?

I think we are from the time where some eVoting can replace manual voting. But spontaneous eVoting could be very useful to motivate a request for manual voting or influence all kind of parliament activity. So far NXT voting is good for corporate voting, club, members voting.

An ICO module may well be a killer nowadays..

5 millions offered and around 50 millions asked, logically there is not enough super cakes for every kid in town. If you abandon, I'll have more luck, but it may not be enough for me to get a piece of the super discount. When price will be more expensive we will probably get some, and the only guarantee is 1 IGNIS for 2 NXT, did you understood something else ?

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Ignis Token Sale Progress
« on: August 08, 2017, 12:57:40 pm »
How I imagined it would have gone is make JLRDA with 750,000,000 tokens and let anyone buy at a rate of 1NXT=1JLRDA.  If they sell out, then everyone will get 1IGNIS for every 1.5JLRDA token (around the current max ICO price).  If they sell 500,000,000 tokens then everyone will get 1IGNIS for every 1JLRDA; if they sell 250,000,000 tokens then everyone gets 2IGNIS for every 1 JLRDA and etc.

This way there is no rush....but no bonuses either for early investors.  However, I think it would be the most fair

Bonuses are not fair, they are arbitrary. What is really not fair is that with no bonuses, you get a lot less visibility.  ;D
