What does the log file say? This file is located in the "logs" folder inside your Ardor folder and will give you some more details of what the problem may be...

Keep in mind that sometimes waiting a few for minutes with the client running until it finds some more peers would automatically resume the blockchain download.

Bitswift has already launched a couple of pegged assets which can be redeemed for BTC or ETH, using the https://bitswift.cash/ website. The assets that can be traded on any Ardor's child chain are:
    BBTC, redeemable for BTC (ID 13045451260956193623 issued by ARDOR-WX2C-T6AN-FSKZ-FL43D )
    BETH, redeemable for ETH (ID 12672395106465140536 issued by ARDOR-8W69-AU9P-RYC7-4NKXL )
