I have the same problem with my NxtWallet 

Once I updated to 1.5.10 and client restarted, it's no longer working.
First of all I can see the database sentence:
ALTER TABLE transaction ADD COLUMN IF NOT EXISTS has_prunable_message BOOLEAN NOT NULL DEFAULT FALSE
But then... a pop-up with the message "An error occurred, the server has quit. Please restart the application." appears.
I've seen that we can use the localhost wallet but in my case I prefer to have everything on the client and not in the 'website' version.

SOLVED. What to do?
Download the last Java JDK version: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
Then download nxt_db_peerexplorer: https://www.dropbox.com/s/djmouly8wlts5gg/nxt_db_peerexplorer.zip - replace your files from nxt folder to that ones.

Open the NXT wallet another time and wait until successfully ends downloading the blockchain.
