Nxt Helpdesk / Re: wallet.mynxt.info safe to store ARDOR for snapshot ?
« on: August 03, 2017, 09:46:05 am »
Is wallet.mynxt.info considered a safe and reasonable place to store Ardor for the upcoming Ardor Genesis Snapshot ?

If so, how will the allocated actual Ardor be accessed post launch ?

If not, where is the best easy place to store it ?

The best place to store your NXt tokens and Ardor assets is in your local Nxt client (nxt.org/download).

This topic has already been discussed in the Nxt Slack.
Has it? Well, then this is an example of how Slack is damaging the Nxt community.
Why? Sorry, I cannot follow you here.

Nxt General Discussion / Export of transactions
« on: August 01, 2017, 12:23:32 pm »
Are there any plans for the new Ardor platform to offer an export interface of all (or a subset of) transactions of a specific account?
In the Nxt platform, the export is done via JSON formatted strings obtained by an API call.

Unfortunately, this JSON string has to be adapted concerning its fields and formats in order to be processed further by cointracking.info
Rationale: Considering the multitude of tokens and assets and its transactions coming in the future Ardor platform, a manual entry of all these transactions into cointracking.info seems more and more impractical and time consuming.

A practical solution would be to offer the export of transactions in CSV or Excel format with certain defined fields.

A candidate for a plug-in?

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Quotes from community memebers

It was the first quarter of 2014 when I first heard about NXT and its new planned ecosystem. Its concepts and visions were so promising for me that I decided to follow its development. I invested my first cryptocoins in NXT (at that time via Bitcoin exchanges, so had to learn about cryptocoins in general and about Bitcoins in particular). Since then, I kept buying NXT regularly no matter how high or how low the exchange rates were.

From the beginning, I felt that there will be developing a new cryptocoin ecosystem that is so different from existing ones (Bitcoin and its clones). We all know the NXT features planned at first and revolutionary for a cryptocoin. Not only have these features been promised, but also implemented on time by the team.

Ardor is taking NXT to the next level. Based on more than three years experience with NXT, the core team showed successfully all its genius by developing new concepts that overcome present shortcomings of classic cryptocoins. Handling blockchain bloat, scaling, shorter transaction times, implementing smart transactions (without neglecting security issues), and separation of forging tokens from transactional tokens come to my mind.

It was only at the Munich blockshow in June 2017 when I first met people from the NXT community in real. This confirmed my impression that this community together with its NXT and Ardor ecosystems are worth to be supported.

Alternative Clients / Re: Offspring: Problem with loading NXT blockchain

Okay, so you only know your Offspring wallet password, but not the "private key" (using Offspring terminology) which is the actual passphrase for the account.

Yes, I posted also there. Thanks anyway for your help.

AFAIK Offspring is currently not up-to-date and you have to wait until a new version is released.

In the meantime I would simply use the official NXT client if you already have a Nxt account and passphrase.
Currently version 1.2.8 downloadable from here: ...

Wesleyh also created some installers for Mac and Win (I believe they do auto-updating), link: ...

And finally if you are on Windows, you can always give NxtLoader V2 a try (it will do the download, hash check and install, see my sig)  ;)

I had also thought to circumvent the problem by using the passphrase and use a different client. However, the passphrase I noted does not result in my existing account being taken, a new account is instead being created. Therefore, I cannot access my NXT at the moment.

Alternative Clients / Offspring: Problem with loading NXT blockchain
« on: September 08, 2014, 09:40:44 am »
Since 18 Aug 2014, I can no longer start Offspring 0.4.6 on Windows.

I cannot longer load my NXT blockichain with Offspring.

During scanning the block chain of 17 Aug 14, it says:

A fatal error occurred initializing NXT.
If this keeps occuring consider to delete NXT database folder.

Do you want to delete the blockchain now?

YES         NO

But the suggested solution to delete the database does not help!
In either case (YES and NO), the Offspring client terminates.

Help, I have no access to my NXT anymore!

Alternatively, should it not be possible anymore to load the latest blockchain with Offspring, how can I open Offspring without loading the blockchain (at least not past 17 Aug 2014)?

Then, I can copy the passphrase and get access to my NXT again with a different NXT client using the copied passphrase.
