Too suspicious.

Thank you for your insightful comment

how about providing the link to your gaming channel for the investors?
its not like you would loose intellectual properties if you link it. in fact you'd get more viewers.
So show us what you got. Everyone is very paranoids these days with rise of so many scams.

Hello, so I have this gaming channel with the following stats:

+1 000 000 views / month
+3000 subscribers / month

Is there any reason for me to issue assets at NXT? I mean, what would I get out of it? If I understand it correctly, I would have to pay each shareholder some NXT, right?

His gaming channel is in the OP https://www.youtube.com/user/hcgmg

He has ad revenue as a result of ads being used. So he is getting some revenue because of that but most it comes from ads clicked and ads. His vids have at least a few thousand each which is better than a few hundred.

Maybe he should post an image of some of his Google Adsense reports for YouTube earnings to show how well they are doing with the channel.

(Know a few people that use YouTube for revenue streams)

I haven't heard of the OPs channel but its likely because of the HoN specific content. Along with not much voiceover from what I see (just gameplay and highlights mostly)

Nxt Monetary System / Re: Store of Value Demo
« on: February 04, 2015, 09:24:24 pm »
Some users already pointed out that it would be much more intuitive to enter the amount of NXT to reserve and let the code calculate the reserve per unit, however then we have to deal with rounding problems.

How about adding a box to show the amount of NXT to reserve in the same time? So the users will clearly know how much NXT they are investing.

I believe it does this already. Entered in .0001 NXT and below shows 100 NXT. Had it at .000 while deciding what to do and it showed 0 NXT. Unless you mean something else

I need help. I am new with NXT wallet and all this minting stuff. I putted and exchange request NXT for EGOLD instead of making an offer. What is the way to delete the exchange request so that I can get my NXT back?

TIA

If you submit an "Exchange Request" (Exchange NXT for EGOLD or vice versa) you will have your NXT returned to you minus the "Fee" you set forth if there was no available orders from the exchange lists at the moment you entered in an exchange request.

If you submit an "Offer" it will be returned once you hit the block height.

Tested this myself. Put an "Exchange Request" order to buy 1 EGOLD at .001 over the current buy rate (which is lower than sell rate) and returned the NXT that was due (minus tx. fee)

Maybe it's also interesting to understand that nobody really is there actively buying a coin that has no inherent value and mintin for the sole purpose of selling will destroy this coin very soon.

I think it's more economical to only mint this coin if you want to hold right now and not destroy the coin before it even started, think about it :)
What about FuelCoin?
does it have any inherent value?

What about NXT or BTC, does it have any inherent value? :)

Truth is, value is created by trust into something, nothing more and nothing less. You can argue now that the inherent value of any PoW coin is the time and energy it took to mine the coin but if you are the only one mining it, there is your crypto clones, I don't think there is any exception to this, it's how all currencies and all money operate, including gold, silver, the dollar, a rare art painting, bread, flour and about every other commodity on the planet and the universe ;)

But that is just my take on it, everything is useful for one thing or the other, as long as there is someone or many that are in need of that thing. If nobody is in need, then there is no reason for it to be here in the first place. (Which is, in my honest opinion, what the problem of the entire Monetary System is, at least as long as it's not properly decentralized or pegged to smart enforcing contracts or rules that will yield me the inherent and intrinsic value of other commodities or coins that are currently being developed hopefully :))

Have a great time,
Vya
Fuelcoin was having a LOT of tradevolumes, but it made no sense. then recently the true volumes showed, less than $1K per day. now the market is revaluing it:

28   FuelCoin FuelCoin   $ 881,282   $ 0.008795   100,206,032 FC2 **   $ 4,240   -42.21 %

There a lot of coins that are just promoted and never really used. BTC is used, NXT is used (around 5% of BTC by tx volumes), DOGE is used. So if an MS coin gets some good promotion and usage, it can also obtain value.

But a sleeping stone will gather moss

James

I agree. Mostly everyone thought DOGE (at least in the early days) was going to be rendered useless and it was a joke currency (I was there in the few days of mining it just for fun and my .1 btc invested ended up becoming around 2 btc a few months later :P). Yet, now it has high volume and a lot of trading volume even though its a supply that won't ever reach cap (unless I remember wrong)..

Right now the Monetary System just needs to find a boost in the right direction. Where a Currency will be able to hold its value and people will rather hodl their Currency than just mint and sell at the soonest moment.

The app, including the widgets, still doesn't work for Android 5+.

Have same problem on 5.0.2.

First time loaded up it worked but crashed a short time later. Now for the last few days btc value and my nxt account show no value in the app.

Man Paycoin is dropping fast. I remember sometime last month when the price was like $10+ now its below $1 atm...

Cheap coins. Better distribution. Another chance to become an early adopter...

Lol.

What is causing the sudden drop anyway? Its been slowly dropping for a while now but now a huge drop occurred. Always felt it was likely a scamcoin with posts I've read from some of their old founders.

I've used keepass2 since pretty much the beginning. Originally used a .txt file in the first few days but then someone suggested keepass and been using it since. Never typed my passwords because most are just "roll hand on keyboard for half a minute" style that there is no way I could easily remember it other than the one password I use to access my password file.

Are we able to do that in NXT?

Yes.

When you buy an alias, choose the type "account"

When someone sends you Nxt, he/she can just enter the alias as recipient instead of the address. Pretty easy

Aww sheeeeee.... After all this time didn't know haha. Thanks lol :) Got my one and only back in the beginning and its been just sitting.

I guess you didn't see this as well;

yeeahhh...nope :P. Sorry...

Not much of a news reader (other than business financial stuff (stocks, equities, etc.) and sports (american fb, basketball, etc.)) These forums have been my sole news-source when bored in my classes or when I have time.

Monetary System / Re: Order not showing on the exchange booth
« on: February 02, 2015, 09:43:05 am »
I believe lyaffe stated in a thread somewhere something like

When you do an "Offer" you are acting like an exchange that buys and sells. All the offers you see in the MS are users acting like an exchange. When you do a "Sell" or "Buy" order you are acting like a customer that buys from existing exchanges on the market. This is why you may see an exchange have the same "Buy" and "Sell" offers but cannot buy from each other.

Wow! they can send funds to other people using aliases and even have a marketplace.

James

amazing.

btw I wonder why almost no one communicates their alias as receiving address in Nxt.

Are we able to do that in NXT? I've always had a contact list (since it was introduced a while back) but I just use it to make sure I'm not sending NXT to a random account...lol

I've never really understood the use of alias. Just remember the time it was released and everyone picking up anything they could think of (and ended up taking a break from cryptos for a few months). Are we able to use our alias instead of Nxt address already when sending stuff?

Looks like Dan is getting stuff done...probably would have been better and faster released if he had more coders than himself though...

they did a pretty good job making their marketplace similar to ebay that everyone is familiar with.
i wonder if ebay is able to sue them since emunie is a company?

I don't think a "look" of a webpage can be a basis to be sued on unless they patented or copyrighted it..not a lawyer though :P

Currently, there is a NXT Wallet that is an .exe file by 'Wesley' (its the main wallet download on nxt.org) and plans are to bring an integrated installer to NRS in the future by the devs https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/integrated-installer-for-nxt/msg154530/#msg154530

Trading & Exchanges / Re: Withdrawing NXT from Bittrex
« on: February 02, 2015, 12:04:17 am »
Hey, I'm having a major issue here :/ I just transferred a bunch of coins into my account and I accidentally refreshed my client and had to log back in. Well now that I re-entered my passphrase it is showing a completely different account with only 3NXT in it. Is it possible that I previously entered my passphrase wrong and entered someone else's account and deposited NXT into there :( Now my ID shows up as:  NXT-XTYE-5JU8-EK47-3WFNU.

Yep, I was initially using an account that must have been a typo of my passphrase, I've been trying all possible misspellings; however I think the odds are against me here. I'm going to look into how to go about trying to recover my account, but I may have to take a big loss here. This certainly puts a damper on my initial NXT experience :(

How many times have you logged into the account NXT-2WSL-H3Z4-SKBC-FTF9N prior to this?

Make sure you don't have any extra spaces in your passphrase as that will also change the account.
Probably just the once yesterday thinking I signed into the account I made. I'm pretty confident that I made a typo without realizing it, and ended up transferring over a thousand NXT to this typo account. I now realize that it alerts you when you create a new account, but I'm still new here, so apparently that means I'm going to learn by making some painful mistakes. I've been spending the last few minutes trying every possible typo combination, and will continue to do so. If you know of any software that could help me here that would be awesome. Otherwise, I am going to have to wait a while to get enough BTC to convert back to NXT.

I remember hearing about password cracking software (in the case of misspelled words) that help (and could possibly help in this) but I forgot what they were...

One suggestion I would do (if you did a typo) is do your password on the keyboard with things like miss-spelled words or keys that are close to the key you typed (if you haven't already). Not sure the combo for your password as in what keys you used :/...I had a wallet encrypted password that I thought I knew the password for, but ended up getting errors because I keyed a word in the wrong order (like using "radnom" vs "random" vs "eramdom" because I fat-fingered it.) and it took me a few days to figure out by just randomly pressing in keys.

Another suggestion is to use a manager like keepass or something that you can copy-paste your password from and into the NXT Wallet so you don't need to worry about mispellings (it's encrypted and safe as long as you don't have a keylogger or something). Also make sure to at least double check your passphrase (to avoid something like this happening again) by just logging out and logging back in with the same password to make sure its the same account.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Is it NXT, nxt, or Nxt?
« on: February 01, 2015, 11:00:47 pm »
It seems like I was from the old days or maybe just off because I use to always say NXT in my mind as "next" but it seems like it is more popular these days to say "N-X-T"

When speaking, most referred to "N-X-T" in the old days, too.

to my eyes it reads like next. i see it mentioned as nextcoin on some sites too

The original 'main' forums was called nextcoin.org created by DGEX's creator 'Graviton' that was used after the btt thread got too bloated. Confusion came about with Nxt being called NextCoin, etc. from what I remember. Then this forum came around to lessen the confusion on Nxt and Next and to reduce the use of an Exchange's forum :)
