what do you mean FEC? I got the code from nxtchg (remember, he was the one that was advocating this). You can see the code for this here: http://pastebin.com/wVB5xzVP

Will probably have this available tomorrow, the new address format suggested and talked about here extensively.

Thanks to nxtchg and others.

"NXT generation account id"?  Kidding. "New format" seems like a good idea to give people the impression this is the future.

Will you be showing both account ID formats in the client?  If we just show the old address, then the new format will have no uptake.  Regular users need to see the new address format for it to be used.  If this would take up too much visual space, perhaps clients can let users choose with the new format being the default?

I think we should just be showing the new format so it can be permanently adapted as the default. The old format could be displayed by clicking something like "show account number"

I will do the reverse for now, there will be a setting to have everything shown as the new account number. This until I either get word from CFB / JL to use this new scheme as default or until enough other clients and online services have switched to the new format also.

Btw, some screenshots (available tomorrow probably)

Is project kharon still under development? Last post in the thread was in february. Not much activity. Perhaps a "DDOS protection" forum would be better and more general. Though I'm not sure if we need this many categories.

What would one call this new address format? I'm adding it to my client, still displaying the old format everywhere though, but making it easy  to copy your account id in this new format also. So what would a good name be?

There are rumors that NXT AE will come out this weekend. Is this true?

Rumors @twitter, NEM forum and our legend NXT forum at BTT.

No, not true.

First I want to say that you have done a great job with the web client.  It looks great!!

I was wondering what your thoughts were on implementing something like this to help secure first time users' wallets:

Thanks and great job again!

Good idea, but how would this work in practice? Do I just send them to my centralized faucet? Just a link on the dashboard when someone with a new account logs in telling them to get some nxt from the faucet?

The "Not Forging" option should be removed or disabled completely  if the user is not connected to localhost

Forging does not start automatically, and if the user does want to start it, a distinctive message states that the password will be sent to the server.

Are here some plans with transactions history, like "My transactions" in NRS? I see my account volume is changing, but I don't now from where testnxt are coming. Some are coming from forging, some came from selling an asset, but there is no one place to see all movements of my nxt.

This is bad design by the NRS core. As JL said it would have been better if everything was a transaction, but it isn't. Anyway, in new version (not yet uploaded) you can see forged blocks too. Trade history will come later. But all of this is not in the same page. At least not until the API is redesigned to improve performance because doing all of these at once would probably be pretty slow.

Wesleyh, again, great looking software.

Question: Logging in as Genesis account (1739068987193023818) on http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/ shows a balance of -4 NXT and owns 2 assets.

(Sorry if this was answered already, didn't find anything)

Yes, the -4 balance was a bug, it's already fixed but I haven't uploaded the new version yet. I haven't yet checked the assets, but anyone can send assets to any account, including genesis.

This is a bug that I reported before at nextcoin.org and you said:

Regarding the nr of confirmations being different on dashboard (homepage) and transaction history page, I suppose you looked at it during a 30 second timeframe? The homepage is updated every 30 seconds, the transaction page is updated when you click on it, so it's possible for it to be different for a short amount of time.

Well...this is not the case. The "dashboard" lags WAY behind when displaying transactions and confirmations. For example, as I type this, in the "Transactions" section of the client, my most recent Tx has 871 confirmations. However, in the "dashboard" it is still showing as unconfirmed.

The "recent blocks" section of the dashboard does appear to keep up to date. It's only the Transactions that are not updating.

When I quit out of the client and then logged back in, the "Transaction" section of the dashboard was updated to show 10+ confirmations.

I'll check this tomorrow, I have made some big changes in the client that are not yet uploaded to nxtra.org so this may already be fixed. Will look into it.

The client looks really awesome mate!

When will it go live?

It'll go live whenever JL/CFB decides.

A potential bug?

Recent transactions in the front page doesn't appear to update the confirmation count automatically. It was showing only one confirmation for an incoming transaction sent over 10 hours ago, while the Transactions tab showed correct amount of confirmations. Navigating away and back wouldn't fix it, refresh of the page did.

I'm using latest stable Chrome, Nxt 0.8.11 and http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/dev.zip client.

You are using an old version, you should use the one from bitbucket;

I can get it zipped also if you want.

Can't add a new contact as of today on http://nxtra.org/nxt-client/

"Your browser does not support database access, without which contacts cannot be created."

I don't remember changing any settings, and it worked before... I am on Chrome 33.0.1
How to unblock it?

Same here

I'll check this issue tomorrow, thanks for reporting.

Alternative Clients / Re: The 'official' client (Wesleyh's GUI)
« on: March 26, 2014, 08:37:22 pm »
Well, I made the client in HTML/JS so that others can easily A) read the code B) verify the code C) add to the code.

So yes, others are welcome to join in, make pull requests, etc..

The client is made as a community effort, I welcome participation. It's not mine, it's ours.

Hey Bryan, great job! Thanks for having the balls to do this :)

Just one tip: (I hope you don't take it as a criticism): Java is not the same as javascript. In fact it's entirely different.

Anyway, hope to see you at more conferences!

Yeah, we are trying to put things in their place, but it is harder to follow all. If you see something cool, please cross post here so we can follow along..

Is it possible to have some sort of "ALL" thread that displays everything in one place?  I appreciate the organization, but I always feel like I'm missing something.

CFB is already working on something like this.

I miss CfB as well as Emule  :'(

Both are not here, coincidence? ;D

CFB is here, in fact he just explained another new feature, the judgement system:
