I replied to your personal message, but there you did not clarify that you had tried the account password obtained from your myNXT wallet backup, and it did not work for you.

The password you get decrypting the myNXT wallet backup does work, for both Nxt and the corresponding Ardor account, so there must be an error somewhere. Maybe an error copying it. You say you cannot access your Ardor. What's the problem specifically, the password opens a different account?

The system changed a few months ago in order to minimize spam/scam attempts and now you need to send an invite request. But they are usually approved very fast.

You said you read in Nxter that Ardor will have its dedicated forum. That is true. They did not say that the forum was ready, so I cannot see anything mis-advertised there, can you?

This is correct. Actually, it should have been online over a month ago, but there's been a LOT of work in different fronts and everything that does not appear critical at a given moment is usually delayed.

Same problem here. Does this solution works on mac? And it works also for Ardor?

It works regardless of your OS, you just need to replace the nxt_db file in the right path where your nxt software is.

And Ardor has already downloadable blockchain images in https://jelurida.com . It won't be usually necessary yet since the Ardor blockchain can be fully sinchronized in little time, but it's still an option.

I don't see how you can achieve a fully decentralized gateway. Gateways are at best distributed, if they need to work as reserve for deposited tokens, EOS in this case.

It does look like you did run testnet from that same installation folder around a year ago, so this is a old log. See the note from ScripterRon. Deleting logs when multiple ones have been accidentally created is not critical to run the wallet, but it will prevent confusion when checking them.

Debugging what is happening with your download is always a good idea, so please do provide any log errors.

But in order to cut through to a solution, you can download a copy of the blockchain generated in the last day at https://www.jelurida.com/NXT-nxt_db.zip

To ramion:

I have already seen you write aggressive messages and now you're moving on to scam accusations and insults. First of all, a warning: if you keep posting insults and spreading FUD like this, you will be banned for violation of the Nxtforum rules and registration agreement.

And second, let's see if we can make some points clear, for good:

1) As robotron posted above, all the Nxt/Ardor accounts in the network received at launch (January 1) their coins from the airdrop. All of them, including the accounts controlled by exchanges like Bittrex. This means Bittrex has your IGNIS, if you were holding NXT in Bittrex at the snapshot time, December 28.
2) When and how Bittrex distributes the IGNIS they have to their users is THEIR responsibility. It is NOT the responsibility of the Nxt/Ardor developers, or the Nxt/Ardor community. So your insults and aggressivity are also completely misdirected.
3) We know from Bittrex that they acknowledge their delay in activating ARDR/IGNIS trading and distributing coins to their users, and that they are working on it. The delays have apparently been caused also by factors that have nothing to do with the Ardor network, such as recent issues with Ethereum blockchain, and upgrades due to the massive CPU bugs that were reported last week. But once again: It is up to THEM when to enable their service. Not in our hands or the Ardor developers hands. Actually, the Ardor developers are pressing daily and have answered during the first week of January all answers and requirements made by Bittrex. I honestly think that Jelurida has been doing everything reasonable to help.

So I suggest you to stop attacking the developers and the community at large, and if you need someone to be upset with, be upset with Bittrex. If you're unable to understand this, maybe you should learn a bit more about cryptocurrency platforms and how they work before investing any money in any of them.

another question. so until end of december, i had my nxt coins on that my nxt website as i said before. did i not qualify to get ardor?

Having NXT in a Nxt account during last December 28 rewarded you with 0.5 IGNIS per 1 NXT. You can use the same account passphrase in the Ardor client to access the account where you'll have those IGNIS.

ARDR distribution to NXT holders happened in 2016, so you would only get also ARDR if you had ARDR assets in your Nxt account.

the passphrase you need to use in the Nxt client for that account is the "password" you got from the myNXT wallet backup.

And if you log in with the account ID from the myNXT wallet backup, and you don't see your balance, is because the myNXT wallet backup displays the ID in an old numeric format, instead of the NXT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX format used officially since long. But both are different representations of the same account. If you go to a block explorer like https://nxtportal.org and search the numeric ID (the one from the backup) you'll get to the same address.

The Nxt client expects the NXT-...-... address format, and if you introduce a long number it won't interpret it properly, leading to a different (usually empty) account.

s@t0sh! - I got your PM, we'll figure out what happens. But a random 60+ character string is the passphrase format that myNXT generated for user accounts, so no surprise here. Any string can be a Nxt/Ardor passphrase, the official wallet went for a 12-word format but in early times of Nxt it was common to use long random strings.

If during this extra month of grace anyone still needs to obtain a copy of their myNXT wallet account data, contact me by personal message. But please be aware that this outstanding data recovery service will not be available after the end of January.

When you install the official app, simply select the "light client" option during setup. The app will not download the blockchain locally, and will get the data from network peers instead, so you can start using it right away. Occasionally you might find a peer that is not up to date, but then just restarting it so it will connect to a different peer should solve it.

This applies to both Nxt and Ardor official software.

the official Nxt software (the desktop app) has always been working. You can get it at https://nxtplatform.org/download or https://jelurida.com

The public wallet that was offered at nxt.jelurida.com was just a copy of this Nxt software served from their website. You'll find the same wallet using the official Nxt app in your computer.

The myNXT wallet was a different story, a third party service that allowed to operate Nxt accounts, and that closed on December 31 as announced.
