lyaffe a style tag containing some arbitrary code encoded as clean base64 should do it.
check out a good cross site scripting cheat-sheet to see ways to overcome html escaping.
i can give you one that is working later today, my shift starts in a few minutes.
Has your shift ended already? ;)
I'm VERY interested in seeing a working bug and I think a lot of others as well...

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Price speculation

I am quite busy with coding and I took time out to help with the liquidity, but it seems that this is making for criticisms about old MGW. So I have removed all from the orderbook until there is a perfect solution without any flaws so nobody will complain

James
That's hardly necessary :(

Maybe it is if it helps the community appreciate exactly how much effort James puts into NXT, and has done for over a year now. We all have feelings!!

The NXT dev team is amazing! Gratitude motivates people far more than criticism. Not many people working for wages around here.

Thanks to all the NXT dev people!!!  Inspirational decentralised community effort!
Thanks all Nxters and Dev  :-* :-*

Sometimes people should learn just to STFU once in a while.

There is nothing more poisonous that constant bickering over developing systems.

I wonder how many masons quit building cathedrals because people kept complaining that the half finished tower wasn't high enough.
Well well, those are words I've never seen you use before  :)

Perhaps when people speak up once in a while, things will be improved?
Without criticism you will never learn from your mistakes.

MGW should have been made bullet proof first before all those other projects were started.

OK, now the spread is 1 NXT

There really isnt much more I can do to increase liquidity than this...

James

Can you check this deposit https://blockchain.info/address/3G8qcMLGp8AuCaJUQYpbpn4mVXekR3TVW1 when you have time?

TY
I have instituted a pay delay/docking for the CPMT so there is hour for hour delay in their payments for each hour MGW is down. And if the downtime is over 24 hours, the delay is become a reduction.

Since all three servers need to be in sync, if any of them get any error in any coin daemon, eg. NXT java error loops seem common since MS release, then it needs to be kickstarted.

Anyway coordinating three independent server operators is a logistic issue and a solution is being worked on. Now with direct financial consequences for downtime, I am hopeful that the logistics issues will be solved.

I apologize for any delays, I was unfortunately recharging after working ~30 hrs straight, so could not help with this until now.

James
And that is going to work how?
I think 2 of your operators aren't on the payroll.

You are not going to like what I'm about to say, but MGW was and still isn't production worthy.

If I read what the "solutions" to these outages are "restart deamon, restarted server"... Come on, it's been a year now?

If you don't care about decentralization and the ideals of crypto and just want to send money fast, why not use

https://wallet.mynxt.info/
http://www.secureae.com/

if you care about decentralization, use:

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/(ann)-nxtlite/
http://jnxt.org/vapor

if your a geek / nerd / cryptoanarchist / interested / then use the NRS.

To make a brilliant and complex software dummy proof takes time. Especially if you can (almost) do everything you can imagine with it.
No one uses Nxt? What about the 5k transactions per day?
those 5K tx per day dont count, it is only made by sockpuppets :)

If a currency's value is proportional to its usage and NXT usage is 5% of BTC usage, how many chickens crossed the road?

James
I know the answer to this one!! "42!, 42!"  ;D

That is an interesting idea. A community-run exchange.
Naturally, it would require an updated security policy.
there is not need for central exchanges
InstantDEX v1 will not fully obsolete them
v2 will
When will this be production ready?

47
Our trade bot had some nxt and probably some small amount of btc there. All in all < 1BTC.

Ah well, you don't wish this upon anyone, but they should have learned from the previous attack. And come on: cold wallet? :-X

48
Hahaha, those "answers" he gave  ;D

He avoided EVERY question about proof.
I'm 90% sure this is a big scam by now. The remaining 10% is just my "never say never" and I hope that 10% is right, but...

Hmmm, my browser can't reach http://localhost:7876/index.html
Did something change?
Noob mistake, it was still processing blocks in the background...  :-[

I read his comments, but it doesn't say if he will pay all the missed payments.
Did he ever mention this?

(if he does, I would be a VERY happy bunny!)

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Integrated installer for NXT

Okay, I will chip in a bit.

Trust Qwitnix and listen to what he has to say and try to learn from it.
I know the guy personally and it is his daytime job to build MSI's and other installations professionally (for years now). It's his trade actually  ;)
And before you ask: it's my profession as well, so I think I can judge his expertise pretty good.

I might come over as a total ass in putting it so blunt, but we should stop trying to build stuff 50/50.

53
january 20, no updates. Still sucks...
BUT I gambled a bit and bought another 5000 shares.
Now I have about 26000 shares. No pian, no gain.

Converted to fiat, everything is dirt cheap and this beats going to the casino  ;D

54
Hmmm, I got about 20K shares of HRTLCgear.

If this fails, than that would make it my biggest loss to  date. I dodged some bullets in the past, let's hope this is another one of those bullets *fingers crossed*.  :-\
What was your original exit strategy?
Sell every time I got a payment. Last time I forgot...
Ah well, shit happens.  :(

The suggestion should be;

Please write your Passphrase and Accountnumber to a piece of paper.

And double check, that written passphrase and account ID corresponds, entering passphrase in client. If people would double check this, there will be no mistakes.
I like the way the NEM client does this when a new AccountID is created:

It makes you enter your passphrase (in NEM's case the private key) and check to see if you enter the correct account with that passphrase (private key). That way you are sure you typed (copy pasted) the correct phrase.

Couldn't this be done for NXT?

It could simply be something that copies your accountID to memory, log you out, displays a box that asks for your passphrase again and checks to see if that corresponds with the accountID. If not: warning sign and you are asked to create a new account.

Hi, I sent 1 BTC to my mgwBTC address this morning, but after 23 bitcoin confirmations and 5 hours, the mgwBTC still hasn't been added to my deposit address: 3NnDx6RyDuwzCeExTGmQ3786NHtdmp5pqu

Could someone please have a look?

Wouldn't it be a good idea to have a standard message on the MGW tab that says: transactions can take up to six hours to complete? (or any other time that is realistic)
