DeBuNe / Re: DeBuNe ICO at the horizon

Not an easy thing this ICO :)

Plus othe issues added to the all thing, bear with me, we will be huge!
At some point, people have to come to the conclusion, this wont happen. How much longer are you allowing this NDA to dictate what you can and cant say?

I believe it's postponed again. But it appears more definite.

Seen on "Linkedin":
Roberto Capodieci
Blockchain expert - Founder @ DeBuNe.org - Now cooking something AMAZING, news in August!
DeBuNe.org   De Amicis
Province de Bali, IndonĂ©sie  + de 500 + de 500 relations

Yeah, a nearly year long pre-ann of a yet to be ICO, and he is still publishing this vacuous meaningless shilling.  ::)  IMO, the/a NDA is something to hide behind, when the original intention has obviously failed.
@Robert. You are a good guy, with perfectly decent intentions, but when August news does not happen, would it be unreasonable for me to think you are FOS, incompetent, or both?

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Price speculation
« on: December 05, 2015, 11:27:48 am »

I mean, unless real businesses with real assets, with real P&L sheets, and meaningful amounts of existing clients/users, start getting involved, this space is just a small-minded circle-jerk of self-interested operators and deluded hopefuls, passing around tokens between 100-200 of us. Wake up people. The experiment phase is over. Unless NXT finds a meaningful utility outside of this currently insular space.......as Marc says, its "failed".

Thanks for the honest words.

Let's assume: "The only real businesses (i.e. businesses making money) in crypto are exchanges, market makers and SR. A business that doesn't do illegal stuff and is not an exchange or market maker has no economic motive to use crypto. There is no legal AND real use case for crypto."

Let's further assume: "This is not only true for NXT but also for BTC."

What follows? The only true economic motive to invest in crypto is SPECULATION that the price will rise because there will be real (i.e. economically motivated) use cases (besides speculation) IN THE FUTURE.

So the factual value of crypto stems only from speculation and not from any other use cases. This has been true in the past, when BTC went to 1 Cent, to 1 USD and to 1000 USD.

Now think: Is it possible that BTC will tenfold and go from 350 or 5 billion to 3500 or 50 billion USD market cap just because of speculation? Yes, just as it was possible that it went from 100 USD to 1000 USD. Is it possible that 1% of money invested in BTC is smart enough to realize that NXT has the better consensus algorithm and is an innovative 2.0 platform? Is it possible that this smart money invests 10% of its BTC in NXT to speculate? If you believe that this is possible you would end up with a potential market cap of NXT of at least 0.1% of BTC. At 50 billion BTC that would be 500 million USD or 50 Cent per NXT. So while BTC tenfolded, NXT almost hundredfolde from here.

Lot's of IFs and WHENs - but speculation (IFs and WHENs) is the only real use for crypto right now.

Why do i write this? Because I want to show you that you don't need to be deluded to be buying NXT right now as Marc is doing. Speculation is enough to justify such prices.
Yep. Agree with you. Speculation is the prime reason we are here. Im just pushing back a little on people/operators who create 'assets' who tell you its good for NXT. Dont buy into their self-interested bullshit.

In the mean-time, focus on initiatives like Tennessee.

Marc's latest vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ4AT43BWow
Now, thats a man who put it all on red, and it come up black.  :-X

He talks about the AE and utility. I dont agree with his "NXT AE is for small-cap" comment. I would actually call it 'insignificant-cap' or 'miniscule-cap', or better still 'pointless-crap'.
I mean, unless real businesses with real assets, with real P&L sheets, and meaningful amounts of existing clients/users, start getting involved, this space is just a small-minded circle-jerk of self-interested operators and deluded hopefuls, passing around tokens between 100-200 of us. Nxt General Discussion / Re: Asset to asset trading
« on: November 30, 2015, 11:25:05 am »
I'm pretty sure that asset to asset trading could help NXT a lot at the moment, it would turn NXT into a financial platform more suitable for asset issuance aimed at fund raising. We could move away from such a strong dependence on NXT price as we have now. Obviously it's pretty hard to issue "stock" tied to a base which changes its value more by an order of magnitude in a year.

If we had asset to asset trading NXT would turn in a koinify-like platform but much much better. Assets could trade against (super)BTC, and this is what every ICO investor wants. That could be a huge boost for NXT as a financial platform.
Do you want to try and justify that statement?
Actually no :) This is how 99% of all ICO's are done, which justifies it just fine
You appear to be claiming to know what every ICO investor wants. Hope ive interpreted your statement wrong ? ?

Anyone care to comment why this shouldn't have a scam tag?
Because he is free to not continue developing.

he is, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be labeled a scammer if he decides to not continue with development and keeps the funds he received

note that I'm not leading to a conclusion here. I have no idea what's going on
At least one person reading this knows, and they are choosing to stay quiet. Interesting im the only one publicly asking questions here.

I can just talk from my site. The frameworks Jones built had an incredible effect on Nxt developments. I am using some of the tools and methods he invented and I am sure so do others. So scam is obviously the wrong word for his codings.

It seems like he is not available at the moment and he did not promise to make it his top priority in live. His effect on the scene is recognized by a bunch of developers and we all hope that he will come back and continue working on his Frameworks
Cheers for that.

My non-tech/dev take-away, is that he has treated the 'asset' exchange as a way just to get paid for his work. Not so bad, but its yet again, a misuse of the term 'asset' and comes across to me, as if he feels entitled to come and go as he pleases after taking peoples funds. Kinda reminds me of BTCdrak and Viacoin. Smacks of "got my funds, the rest is up to you guys, and fuck you."

Anyway, looks like im a lone voice here. Lets see his justification for creating a meaningless 'asset' and then walking away without explanation. And also why he thinks NXT is not worth pursuing..... if he comes back.

Bricks and mortar. As in a high st crypto shop. It would sell crypto related clothing and items (t-shirts, caps, physical coins, memorabilia etc.). It would have an online presence at the same time, to maximise turn-over with the increasing crypto related merchandise in this space. you could offer sale-and-return deals. You could also become a trusted escrow service, for digital and physical goods. It would also sell coffees and cakes to provide a cool and relaxed place to hang out and meet people.....which is the perfect environment to educate people regarding how to generate an address/wallet so they can pay for what they have just bought. Make education fun, and that experience will be passed on to their friends and family in a very positive way.

BUT, the most important goal here, is to slowly encourage your fellow retailers to adopt crypto. Over time, the flow of crypto funds becomes a positive feed-back loop, and awareness/education will grow organically. Before you know it, crypto stickers will be in every shop window.

As long as the banks/Ebay/Paypal dont make a meaningful play at crypto, the above, is how you engage Joe Bloggs into crypto......just dont call it crypto!  ;)

The asset exchange is the only thing keeping Nxt alive right now.
Yes, and its been slowly imploding what with scams, incompetence, and now, the 'James effect'. Its fine and sometimes fun, for speculation purposes, but lets not kid ourselves NXT the platform, actually needs it in its current form. If it does..... :-\ :-[ :'(

Business, business, business.

No more focusing on pointless 'assets' that only create negative feedback loops on NXT.

12
@Thames
What assets you consider being in the  5%?
Real world companies like FARLAWEB and bgcaffe.
Time and again, we are seeing so-called projects, by well-meaning (mostly) devs, that only serve an insular circle-jerk of geeks. Whats in it for the non-geeks?.....the ones that will eventually decide when a platform (whatever it is) becomes successful by huge adoption. Hey, its/they are clever and mildly interesting, granted, but its about time people realised that these projects are failing enough times, that at best, do the NXT platform no service, or at worst, damage it.

The cross-over to the real-world is not happening enough, is what im saying.

Nxt Asset Exchange / Is the Asset Exchange an asset to NXT the platform?
« on: November 28, 2015, 07:01:06 am »
IMO, 95% of the so-called 'assets' on the AE are worthless crap that have no real-world use and/or value, whatsoever. None.

Feel free to argue that in its current form, the AE is an asset to NXT, the platform.

Secure Asset Exchange is a web-application that enables buying, selling and issuance of cryptobonds, cryptoequity and cryptocontracts in the Nxt decentralized exchange infrastructure.

It seems like a renessaince is going on with NXT at the moment, many new people become interested in it, even on the bitcointalk forum we see an increased activity and talks about NXT. This is good news, however the asset exchange is in bad shape right now, it has deflated much since the summer and people lost money. The NXT asset exchange needs a shakeup I believe.

A good portion of the price decline was caused by morons buying into these ridiculous assets run by people who I wouldn't trust to run tap water.  Now that their holdings have evaporated and the assets have burst (ie they've sold off the majority of their NXT holdings and don't have anything to show for it), NXT looks like a safer investment.  Gee, I could have told them that in the beginning.  I can count the amount of "assets" that I think are decent on one hand with two fingers.
FARLAWEB + ??

He absolutely is. So, how do we describe someone who just walks away without explanation or notification.
Why was his 'asset' created in the first place?
Am i wrong when i say he used to be a mod on this forum?
