Nxt General Discussion / Basic Ardor Lite Mobile Wallet
« on: July 26, 2017, 08:39:34 pm »

I wanted to share here my recent little project :)
I decided to create a basic mobile wallet for Ardor.  Currently, it just lets you see transfers in and out of your address for any childchain, send on any childchain, and create contacts (On my To-Do list is to name the contacts :) ).  QR code reading should also work for passwords and sending addresses.  You can also specify what node you want to broadcast to (all signing is done locally, so your password is never sent over the net).

Currently, I am only building the files for Android, but since it is built with Ionic I can quickly make the iOS app when I'm ready.  If you want to test it on the Ardor Testnet, the download link is below to version 0.1.0:

Let me know what you think

« on: June 26, 2017, 07:45:20 pm »
Can anyone explain the exact differences between these three options (CONNECTED, NON_CONNECTED, DISCONNECTED) for peers?

Connected makes sense, but I don't understand the difference between NON_CONNECTED and DISCONNECTED.  Is one still a valid peer but we have reached our max number of connections for our node so it's not currently connected to that peer, while the other one means that peer is not working right now?

I made these changes to my config, as I'm trying to get the current number of active Ardor nodes on the network:
Code: [Select]

Also, I have my API call set to
Code: [Select]
active=true however, I get back peers that say
Code: [Select]
"lastUpdated": 0
I don't understand that.  I would think all the peers that are returned were able to update recently.

Ardor General Discussion / Ardor Blockchain Explorer
« on: June 20, 2017, 03:12:57 pm »

I wanted to post here my blockchain explorer for Ardor: https://ardor.tools/
Until the mainnet launch it will be using testnet information for everything except price.
It doesn't have every feature added yet, but what it does have should be fully working.  I will continue to add more functions and update this post.  Any suggestions are always welcomed  :) but please keep in mind it is a WIP
I will also host NXT and Ardor blockchain backups there and they can be found in the footer.  Currently this is a manual process, but my plan is to automate this and provide information about the latest block the backup contains.

Thank you

7/11/17 - Updated NXT blockchain backup that is provided on the site.  Made some small tweaks and fixed one bug.  Added Top Accounts for ARDR.  Added Current Stake Forging on Network page too based off of accounts that forged a block in the last 3 days.
6/28/17 - Added orderbook to asset pages.  Started correcting decimal places for child chains, as it is not always 8.  Ardor blockchain backup automatically updated everyday at 13:00 UTC
6/27/17 - Added data cloud search and tag links
6/26/17 - Switched to highcharts library.  Added experimental candlesticks to assets.  Updated some styling and added link to password typo finder
6/21/17 - Added Data Cloud section and improved mobile view
6/20/17 - Started marketplace and goods section
6/19/17 - Launched

Any new update about FreeMarket/eMercury?  I know you are moving to ethereum, but couldn't find any information on how that is going and how the FreeMarket Asset conversion process is going

Thank you

Nxt General Discussion / How would you like the client to look
« on: February 19, 2016, 02:01:46 pm »
Hello everyone!

In the NXT 2.0 topic, there is a conversation between user friendliness and adoption VS scalabilty in which one is more important right now.  Both are very important, but on the topic of user friendliness how do you think the NXT client should look to make it easier/friendlier?

  • Would something as simple as a basic vs advance view in the options be all?
  • Should the client default to a basic view, but under options or a new drop down, be able to enable individual components of the UI? (Example: DGS, blocks, peers, and MS are hidden by default, but here are checkboxes to enable them)
  • Should the client be completely revamped?
  • The client is fine  :P
  • Something else  ???
I'm wondering what if JLP works towards the 2.0 scalability while NXT 1.8 and/or 1.9 has user friendliness improvements.

Nxt Plugins / [PLUGINS] Mr. V's Plugins (Forum & Asset Analysis)
« on: February 04, 2016, 05:39:09 pm »
Hello everybody!

Both are available on github now:

and I setup a TestNet node with the plugins installed for quickly trying them out with a TestNet account:

I wanted to put in one spot the two plugins I have been working on this week (I'm open to better names for them too :) ).  We have:
The Forum (Only use on TestNet for now please)

A decentralized type reddit.  It uses tagged data for the main topic and messages with reference transaction ids for the comments.  I still need to test it when data starts getting pruned.

Features still to do
1.) Handling data when it gets pruned
2.) Allow more then one level of nested comments

Known Bugs
1.) Still have to include an image file even though I don't use it currently

v0.8.2 (TestNet only please): https://github.com/mrv777/NXT-the-forum/archive/0.8.2.zip
v0.8.1 (TestNet only please): http://expirebox.com/download/51367108d7324aa068a00bb554222fba.html

Asset Analysis

Candle sticks graphs for the price with bar graphs of volume for assets you own on the AE

Features still to do
1.) Text field where you can input an asset ID to lookup v1.0

Known Bugs
1.) There needs to be at least one trade for an asset v1.0
2.) You need to own at least one asset v1.0

v1.0: https://github.com/mrv777/NXT_asset_analysis/archive/v1.0.zip
v0.9: http://expirebox.com/download/0b5518cf185474773e4a0000a55b8992.html

Nxt Plugins / Link to a new page for a plugin
« on: February 01, 2016, 06:27:59 pm »

I'm a little rusty with my NRS javascript/html coding, but I'm trying to get back  :)
I was wondering if someone could help point out where I am going wrong here:
I have a plugin and on the first page I have a link to try and go to a new page:
Code: [Select]
<td><a href='#' class='goto-page' data-page='p_test_plugin_page2'>Test</a></td>in that same file I have the second page:
Code: [Select]
<div id="p_test_plugin_page2" class="page">

However, it doesn't switch to that page when I click the link.  It does nothing.  I don't see any errors in the Chrome Developer Tools' console either.  I have models working, but can't seem to crack the pages.

Thanks for any help!

Edit:  I also noticed this doesn't seem to do anything in my plugin modal (it never gets replaced):
Code: [Select]
<div data-replace-with-modal-template="fee_calculation_modal_template"></div>I'm guessing the javascript is breaking somewhere with my plugin (everything else still seems to work though), or there are limitations on what the plugins have access to use

Edit 2  :) Is there a way to do getDataTags, but only for a certain channel?  I'm trying to get tags under a certain category and the number of TaggedData objects there are with that tag under the channel.  Thanks again!

Public Nodes / VPSs / Anyone see any issue with this VPS for a node
« on: January 29, 2016, 03:16:01 pm »

I wanted to add some more nodes to the network and was wondering if anyone saw any issue with this VPS:

They use ARM CPUs, but I figure if a raspberrypi can run NXT, this should probably be good too.

Edit:  Also, is Ubuntu 14.04 the OS I should choose or should I switch to something else?  Thanks again!

Nxt Helpdesk / OpenAPI for node
« on: January 27, 2016, 02:39:12 pm »
Hello everyone!

I've been a little busy, but I'm trying to get more involved again.  I'm currently making sure my node is all up to date, set to archival, hallmarked, and has an openAPI.  According to peerexplorer, I have the node back up and archival, but the API is not open: http://www.peerexplorer.com/info?node=

I set the following in hopes of an openAPI:

I have also tried nxt.adminPassword with a password and leaving it blank.  Doesn't seem to make a difference so I left the password for now.

Thanks and I'm excited for the 1.7 branch we now have

Nxt General Discussion / Extending Tagged Data Messages
« on: August 04, 2015, 06:39:38 pm »
If a few people were to extend a tagged data transaction and include a message with each of their extends, is there a way to see all the messages that were used in transactions to extend it if all you know is the transaction ID of the original uploadTaggedData transaction?

Marketing Applications / [MC] Funds for melodius first time users
« on: February 26, 2015, 01:48:26 am »
1. Nxt account and userID/contact info for submitter

melodius, account controlled by TBD

2. Submission date

25th February 2015

3. A short description of the project with your goals very clearly specified(three sentences max.)

Melodius is a project to bring NXT to the music community, making it simple and easy to buy and sell music with NXT.  We are looking for funds to help new NXT users and avoid them from not using the site because they don't know how to use and/or get NXT.

3b. Long description as needed

Melodius is a music platform that connects artists and musicians with buyers worldwide, using virtual currencies.

The site can be seen here: http://melodiusmusic.com/ (Please don't use the website yet as we are still testing and debugging so certain features do not work currently)

More information can be found on the About page on the melodius website and here:

We are asking for the funds to alleviate issues with first-time users of the NXT platform.  With the NXT, we will create a wallet for new artists and fund their accounts with approximately 4 NXT, so they can publish their first albums for free and without the need to learn about NXT and/or how to use it immediately.

4. Specify the target audience

Musicians, music lovers, your average person that enjoys tunes, and the NXT community

5. Budget

We are asking for 10,000 NXT in total.
Splitting the total between multiple payments is acceptable if the community wishes to see a finished product and results before sending all the funds.

6. Specify deadlines

The sooner the better :-)
We are hoping to go into beta next month (March) and by the end of the month or the beginning of next (April), we hope to be live.

7. Metrics need to be specified

It will be easy to see on the website the number of artists and albums listed.  We will also keep track in the database, which accounts were created through the site.

Nxt General Discussion / NRS Account Login
« on: February 25, 2015, 02:32:14 pm »
I've implemented a read-only type login for the client that allows you to login with just your account number as talked about here: https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/issue/114/read-only-log-in
It works, but I'm wondering the best way to implement the UI for this and would like the community's feedback.
This is what I currently have:

and if you click to remember the account, you get this on the next login:

My opinions on this:
+Allows you to fill in both inputs to verify account number and passphrase match
+Everything on one screen for users
-Users will think they need to fill out both inputs
-Not as clean

Holger came up with a nice option too, with a button to specify the type of login:

My opinions on this:
+Easier to understand when you look at it
+-More clicks involved (It's really only one click, but I know your average person likes things as simple as possible)
-Can't use the account number/passphrase check, but we currently don't have that

Thanks for any input

Alternate Cryptocurrencies / Indiegogo Goldcoin
« on: February 19, 2015, 05:10:58 pm »
I noticed this on indiegogo:

Has this been discussed?
They make some claims...
the first mineable cryptocurrency built on Java, the first altcoin to rewrite the Bitcoin codebase, and the first to support multiple cryptocurrencies

It looks like one person has done all the funding so far too  ;)

Testnet / node10.mynxtcoin.org:6876 down?

I can't seem to run requests against node10.mynxtcoin.org:6876 anymore.  I use to be able to do this:
but now it's not responding.

Anyone know anything about this?

NXTinspect / Transactions

It looks like you sent out a lot of transactions, including 0.1NXT to me.  I was wondering the meaning of this  ???

Nxt General Discussion / Corporate Theme Discussion
« on: November 12, 2014, 05:02:54 pm »
Please discuss the new corporate theme here.  Ideas, suggestions, complaints  :)
There had to be some modifications made to the original look so that it would work well without modifying the default look at all.

I just saw this in a NODE thread and wanted to post it here.  NODE is looking to do some marketing soon and this was talked about:

Could NXT benefit from any of this marketing service?  I know marketing seems to be one of our weak points.

(I'm not for or against this, just wanted to make sure the community has seen it)  :)
