Settle down lads, last year was tough but the tech is shining through and NXT has a good niche. NXT is being discovered so hang in there and keep using it. Surviving the first 2 years is a big deal in crypto; the worst is over.

Great post. With some tweaks, can this work on my pi 1 Model B or is it best to upgrade to pi 2?
I tested with pi 1 B,worked well. :)
Thanks, what about the memory and swap files changes?

This is the last comment I got after mentioning NXT:

"You want respect for NXT? Here's what you need to do. Make a 30 minute, super detailed and easy to understand video about NXTs PoS system so that even a layman could understand it, because right now NO ONE can understand it. And that's the problem. Open source means nothing if no one can understand the code"

I don't have the knowledge to explain NXT but many do. Is there a video explaining NXT and POS? Just something for guys like this, someone who is interested but doesn't understand so they just keep bagging it because they are frustrated that no one can explain it. And comparisons/advantages with BTC, not dissing BTC but just objective discussions about advantages.

We must debunk and disprove all these monkeys on NXT's back in a professional manner. Ignorance about - Nothing at stake, distribution, staking, security, token supply etc.

If no one can point me to a video or explanation that a layman/general investor/user can understand then I'll be in touch with Evil Dave and work on getting something done.

It's still so common to see negative comments about NXT distribution. Someone will comment on a video 'hey what about NXT" and it will get down-voted and someone will hammer it with 'poor distribution' comments. I can see this taking 4 or 5 years to wear off no matter how good the distribution becomes. Fresh money and great tech will slowly solve this and I look forward to that time.

On a positive note, I am very pleased to see Stefan Molyneux accepting NXT on his website. This guy has over 300000 youtube subscribers

His account could do with a little love, i'm  just about to send him 1000.
He doesn't need your money. He has enough devoted cultists to sustain himself. https://blockchain.info/address/1Fd8RuZqJNG4v56rPD1v6rgYptwnHeJRWs
There are many thinkers that don't make any income from podcasting. Donating to him is like donating to John Rockefeller. If you want to donate, please find someone who is underappreciated, there are tons of such people. Suggestions: 1, 2, 3

It's not a question of him not needing my money, it's about me appreciating what he does, regardless of his net worth. Also, it's good for NXT awareness. Get the NXT flowing bro

Tosch, I appreciate all your work, especially the last few days. I've been using a 5 digit pin, so I guess the first 4 have only counted, ha.

With the influx of new users do you think it might be idea to have some supernet FAQ's for the following:

Where is my password and PIN stored and what security measures do I need to take?
What happens when I send coins to a COIN address in my Supernet?
Can each coin address be checked via a blockchain?
Where are the servers and how does multisig work?
Who looks after these servers?
What is the ultimate supernet objective?

Also, what other coins are being added, is there any limit eg most of the top 15 coins? Thanks

I expect biggest alts to perform better than Bitcoin in the next bull market.

Wouldn't be surprised. More and more attention is going to big alts like Ethereum and NXT. Coins like NXT haven't gotten the "discovery" pump yet; I suspect they will. Maybe not so much coins like Ethereum, but NXT has definitely been under the radar since its inception

We'll need more volume if we want to really get pumped. As we all know, a 10x from the all time high would be well over a dollar; that would be nice.

Thank you. You restore my fate in this forum.

I realize more and more that crypto is a long way from going mainstream, mainly bc the majority of people involved in the space (the users, not usually the devs) are still a bunch of paranoid idiots. Eventually these people will retreat to their bunkers and maybe joe-schomo will be ready to consider how crypto might help his everyday life.

Until then, we have to hear all the conspiracy theorists on everything even remotely connected to government.

Truth is, crypto-paranoid-morons DONT care about math or science, they just fell into Btc and crypto bc it has a tinge of the narritive that they enjoy considering while they entrench themselves in their bunkers awaiting some collapse - actual issues that matter, like global warming, can be sidestepped for "more obvious threats" like the illuminati and aliens.

I don't believe 'scientists', they're given far too much credibility.

Yeah, silly scientists going around with their gimmicky gravity and flat-earth-theories. All just a bunch of attention-seekers if you ask me, with their data and models and experiments! What have scientists ever done for us? At least the Romans gave us the aquaduct.
Better to just ignore them and go with your gut feeling. I mean, has your gut ever betrayed you? More power to the gut!

Settle down fellas. Perhaps I should have said 'some scientists'. I just get pissed off when I hear someone on the mainstream news say something like 'latest research from scientists have proven blah blah blah....". I mean, really, really? Who really knows, until I see it or prove it myself, I will be undecided and will not make a judgement.

Peter, those Roman aquEducts are great aren't they. My gut feelings or decisions from my soul cannot let me down; outcome is inconsequential and it's always the right decision. If my ego starts deciding things for me, then frustration, struggle and confusion are sure to follow. We are conditioned to react, as you are doing, but stopping this habit takes time; I understand.

Hi rtrtcrypto, i'm a crytpo truth-seeker. I respect maths and science, but I mainly rely on that innate knowledge we are all born with. When I see 2 steel buildings instantly fall down because of fire and the third fall down all by itself, whoops, I question the scientific explanation. All that education and no common sense. The scary thing is most people believe believe these guys. They believe them because if they found out otherwise, they would realise they have been lied to most of their lives and therefore they are living a lie. That makes people angry, so they stay in the comfort of denial.

Anyone read this yet?

Just stumbled across this PDF:

The conclusion is of course no surprise  ;)
But maybe someone can use it for something.

TL;DR: A business that relies on PoW supports PoW.
I am shocked, I tell you.

OK, moving on AWAY from the traditional knee jerk reaction of "they don't like PoS", can anyone shed any light on the things they actually sáy?

I think we are doing ourselves a disservice by just pushing things away that we don't like.  :)

Here's the thing, people will believe what they want.

I know from experience, with over 90% of Scientists show via studies and data that global warming is happening and it IS cause by mans actions. Yet, there are still is a large percentage of people (in the US at least) that still don't "believe" it. The listen to Poloticians, Talking Heads, etc... and point to that as proof that the science is wrong.

What makes this worse is that Cryto is MATH. And people don't like math, I mean "MATH IS HARD" as Barbie said. What's worse is that while Crypto is BASED on math it is very hard to prove attacks and such since you can never create a "test" network with the number of nodes the production network has on it.

The bottom line is, to attack the NXT (or pretty much any PoS coin) you need to OWN a large amount of that coin. In order to do that, (unless you can hack a lot of people that keep their passphrases in a text file), you have to buy it. When you start buying it the price will climb quickly. Could you buy and own more than 50% of NXT? Maybe. But, once you've spent that much money to do it your only hurting yourself. Is it worth spending $100million (just some fantasy amount) to kill NXT?

So yea, bottom line, people will believe what they want to believe no matter how many facts and mathematical and scientific studies by reputable people show otherwise.

hahaha, there are a lot of people on this forum that still believe that there is no global warming.  And btw, it isn't 90/10, it is like 99/01 and even that might be being generous to the deniers.
count me as a denier I guess... so the last 150 or so of temps is some sort of trend dating back 4.5 billion years?!?  in the U.S., how did the Great Lakes form?  About 10,000 to 20,000 years ago "when the earth's climate warmed and the last glacial continental ice sheet retreated".... hmm, man made warming as well?

Global warming is a joke. Call me a denier too!

According to some, we are entering into a much colder period. I don't believe 'scientists', they're given far too much credibility.
