Hi, I realized I had a fair bit of btcd in my nxt wallet. I sent some to the address- NXT-6YQW-HHCG-NATW-DCHJ3 with my btcd address. I didn't send all of it, as it was just a test to see if I would receive btcd in return. Is there something else I have to do?

the swap mgwBTCD > superBTCD was done long ago, but since the process is not automated and the old wallets are still available, it can be done. Just please:

- Send the total amount of the mgwBTCD you want to swap to the MGW redeem account, NXT-6YQW-HHCG-NATW-DCHJ3. Swapping 5 mgwBTCD and then another amount is double work, since as implied every transfer needs to be done manually, manual multisig transactions are much more complex than a regular transaction and they take some time.
- Attach to the mgwBTCD transfer a message (encrypted or not, as you prefer) with the destination BTCD address where you want your coins sent.
- Please allow for a few days, the swap will be done but I'm afraid I have little available time and many things in the to-do list.

Edit: Also, if you have any other inquiries about this, please post in the https://nxtforum.org/nxtservices-releases/multigateway-user-support-thread/ - old topics like this one can be overlooked more easily.

Thank you for the quick reply and assistance. I have sent the rest to the BTCD redeem account with a btcd address message attached. I'll be waiting patiently for the transfer when you find time in your schedule.

Is there ANY reason why Nxt keeps dropping?  I'm just curious.  I know it's not had a good run of support for the past year (I mean, outside of the existing community, this isn't in regards to development) but with Ardor being a viable upgrade, I can't believe people continue to dump instead of holding Nxt for at least another month.

Personally, come early October I would expect people to start dumping because I'm sure that some people have been hoarding Nxt for Ardor distribution.  It would just make sense that some would dump because they are happy with their stake and don't mind waiting until next year to profit from their holdings.  However, Nxt just keeps going down.  This is so confusing.

It's quite logical and very predictable.

Nxt price had pretty much flat-lined between 0.00002 and 0.00001 btc/nxt for around 9 months prior to the ardor announcement. Ardor being new at the start of this bullish altcoin trend, lead people to believe ardor would be worth more than the current nxt price. These speculators only want this 'new' coin because that's where the money is. The platform NXT doesn't generate hype like it used to.

If you assume the new speculators give close to 0 value to nxt, you can work out what they think the price of ardor should be. Today, you'll get approximately 0.21 ardor per nxt you hold. This means speculators will sell nxt if the price is higher than 1/5 of the expected ardor price and in turn, should buy if it is less. This is quite evident from the price spike and downward trend.

If you assume a price between 0.00008 - 0.00011 btc/ardor, you can see that this price is reached around August 5th and the price of nxt has adjusted down continually to this day. Once ardor snapshot is over, you'll be able to see a speculators in/speculators out movement over a 3 month period and workout a predicted ardor price. The price will move further and further away from the ardor speculated price as we get closer to the snapshot end period with probably a small crash and rebound.

I came to Bitcoin for the promise of ending the monopoly of banks and governments on finance. It will be a revolution that will rival the internet in it's importance - and we haven't even seen the beginning of it yet.
I'm happy if I can make some money on the way. I think it was that greed that made me look into alts. Only NXT seemed to be anything of substance two years ago. And once I've read more about it, it became clear that it fixes some of Bitcoins problems. I'm more and more convinced that Bitcoin is not sustainable. The mining system just creates conflicts of interests, that we see on display by now. And then there is the burning of energy... it might still be worth it if it leads to a change in world-finance. But NXT cant do it without this downside (burning a barrel of oil to do some transactions just seems insane).

Nxt also offered more - the Asset exchange seemed like it had the potential of widespread use, even for average people and businesses. Sadly, after being really exciting in the first months, that part fell flat.

Not 100% sure where we stand right now. The competition got tougher. Other currencies implemented Nxt's features like POS and the Asset exchange. And Ethereum took the buzz.
I still feel Nxt is the only one that is most future-proof and the most technically advanced of the options. Ardor even more so. Maybe things like NEM can hold up to it (don't know enough, it's too tough to keep up on all alts). Mass-adioption of Nxt seems further away for now. Though in the big picture I don't care which name the blockchain is called that frees the world of the grip of banks.

Nicely put. I'm also in it for the liberation of people from financial strangleholds of the bank but I'm sure as hell am going to try to make some money in the process.

This block 11120661893094876996 has 1440 in fees for just a message. What is this about?

It is ugly, especially the color. I do not plan to use this red (or any red) in the client UI.

Yes. I agree. Only 21 votes. Options should be reduced until a majority is found to agree.

5B and 5A - They stand out, they are red (as mentioned many existing are blue/goldish), china loves red, they are identifiable and not confusing and I just like them!

Also having two colors (4 which is most popular) can make it difficult to distinguish @ a quick glance...

I completely agree. 5a/b really make sense to me and are so pleasing to the eye.

Nice to see that you still have enough spare time to watch Game of Thrones :)

Or read it. :)

Buy When There's Blood In The Streets

NXT looks dead... lets buy cheap coins  ;D
Nxt is far from dead. But your right that the coins are cheap.  ;)

When iota is released, I can see a lot of profits flowing into nxt.

Take care Sonny. It's easy to be pessimistic when the price is at an all time low (beside the first week of release). Being optimistic in this situation is much more difficult.

Knowing the price is dropping due to big holders is a little reassuring. Perfect reason to buy at such lows not seen since the first week of trading in late 2013.

With the current development of things, low activity on this forum and stakeholders quitting us, the future is very bleak I am afraid!

This is amazing! As long as aditions have been made as this to the NXT we shouldn't be afraid about the future.
F**k the price! Price will come!

Buy low sell high.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: IPO The bad idea.

What has been built here ? Isn't it tools to develop an anarchist economy ? Is it so much doomed that this tools can not be used to build the infrastructure ?

An anarchist economy is not possible, it's a dream. There, somebody had to say it. People don't care to support the public infrastructure. It's a fact. There are two ways to solve this problem. Socialism by involuntary taxation (IPO with equal taxation of everyone) or incentivizing and motivating with benefits.

I don't beleive it.

Look at the Tennessee project. Look at Iota, they have so far raised 15 000 000 iota's from their initial 'investors' and 20 000 000 iota's for an unknown investment. This is immediately after the ICO.

The nxt devs have donation addresses where people can donate. If these are running dry or have little to no tokens donated, then a dev equivalent to the Tennessee project should be started again. The devs need to let us know publicly and explicitly that the assistance of the community is needed and a lack of support will have a direct negative effect on nxt's growth (which is so crucial right no in this competitive cyrpto environment). If the community can't support itself, that's a shame and we'll see the result of lack of demand in a service.

One thing that they should not do, is go against the core fundamental principles of 'crypto' currencies. That is, to dilute the value of the tokens of the owners of nxt.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Should we have a new ICO?

What do you think about a new ICO?
We can collect fresh money for devs and marketings.

Check out the Tennessee Project on this forum. I donted a decent amount because I support nxt and believe we need more marketing.

If the devs made a similar request (on top of the sticky on the front page), to push nxt development to the forefront of cryptocurrencies, I wouldn't hesitate to support them too.

Another ico on the otherhand would be an insult to everyone current invested.
