Nxt Community News and Announcements / Re: [ANN] Jinn

Yes, quite a thriller if you happen to follow the discussion on their Discord chat - link to join https://discordapp.com/invite/wwzsRz (channel #jinn or #spec). Let's see how it ends for JINN holders, but it doesn't look good.

I'm hoping someone can summarize the information for JINN holders. Thank you.

Official Nxt Releases / Re: NRS v1.11.15

I am running this latest version running as a lite node, and I can't log in. On the login screen I get the periodic message "Cannot connect to /nxt-proxy". I'm not sure my problem relates to the latest update, but I am sure that the same config has worked in the past. Can you provide any advice?

The lite client relies on remote full nodes for its operations. If the node it selects during node startup are not reliable or no longer online you receive this message

do you have a list of known good peers? As it seems many in the default config may not be available (if I understand correctly why I cannot connect).

Hello. Are there plans to distribute any more contributors bonuses in future, or are you requesting everyone sell their token? Thank you.

Were there any statements from the dev team as to future plans for NXT itself? I seem to recall that there was a stated minimum period for which the NXT blockchain would be maintained, of at least 1 year, if I recall, but that future beyond that was subject to how well the IGNIS sale went. I am not sure where I read this, but the impression I got was that NXT will have a future of some kind. Perhaps i should look harder, but if anyone can point me to the official statements about the future of NXT it's appreciated!

Thank you very much for the quick response!

I think it could go either way. The price of Ardor could be a lot lower than Ignis, because it has so little utility and demand from fees is probably about 1/1000th of demand for Ignis. Or, it may be that people who have a lot of spare Ignis, convert it into Ardor and then forge to keep it secure. We may end up with Ardor being gold to Ignis silver, Ardor used as a store of wealth while Ignis is used as a transactional currency.

I think the problem is that the powerful NXT API can be used in the ICO, to instantly buy JLRDA tokens as soon as they are available...

If I place an order during the first batch, will the order remain alive and be processed in a FIFO order when the next batch is put up?

The order will not be kept alive, since only Jelurida can make an offer. You will need to place a second order when the next batch is put up.

thanks for the answer!

Hi Riker / Jean-Luc. I can see the dates for the ICO rounds published at https://www.jelurida.com/ico and have some questions:

1. Are the dates in UTC or some other time zone?

2. Is ICO starting at midnight (0:00 on Aug 5th) or some other time during the day that is yet to be announced?

3. As JLRDA is a monetary system currency, what would happen if someone published an Exchange Offer early? Would their offer then be processed first when the JLRDA is placed on the market? (the details of the monetary system are sometimes confusing to me)

Many thanks for your work on NXT, and best with the Ignis ICO / Jelurida fund-raising.

Thank you.  :)

But how is it possible that 5 out of my 12 nodes are not generating NSC? They have been online as far as we know (we monitor them regularly).

You probably have checked, but maybe worth also confirming your nodes meet the requirements outlined in the original post. For example, I had wondered why I missed some and realized my node was not running the latest NRS version.

LIQUID / Re: Dividend Day!
« on: September 01, 2016, 03:36:37 pm »
August 2016 Profit Summary

Assets: 327,859
Capital Before Dividend: 38.59 BTC
Capital After Dividend: 38.59 BTC
ROI: -76.39%
Total Profit: -124.89 BTC
Divs Paid: 0 NXT
Div/Asset: 0 NXT

As most of you already know, XMR cracked my bots last month for a lot of BTC.  At first I thought it was my algorithm, but after more research later, I found a bug in the code that incorrectly implemented the algorithm.

There are two options I see right now:

1) Raise more funds and continue going
2) Liquidate with a buy wall at the liquidation NAV price and let people cash out.

Some might wonder why not an option 3 where I just keep going with the small capital I have right now. Answer: Even though these are bots (automated trading) it still takes time to watch them, watch the markets, make sure they're running right, pay for the servers, answer questions about the fund, etc.  I'm not financially able to do all that for just a few bucks each month.

What I need to know right now from investors is "would you put more money into the fund if I kept it going at let's say 30-50NXT / share?".

If people still have faith in this system and we can raise another 100BTC or so (a little dilution, we could start making some money again.

Please post thoughts.

LibertyNow

Thanks for the update. I hold some LQD (bought when price was around 100NXT). I don't usually invest in trading bots but have appreciated your perseverance and openness. I thought the price of XMR went up, could you please explain how it going up caused you to lose so much capital - was it repeatedly buying XMR then selling it at a loss?

Personally I won't invest any more in the current asset, but I would be happy to hold if you decide to raise funds or sell if you are liquidating. Good luck in making the choice! Whatever you decide to do please announce it here in time for me to act as necessary.

Nxt Helpdesk / Re: Setup archival node
« on: August 31, 2016, 10:09:38 am »
Run NRS and bring up the API UI using <YOUR-HOST-NAME-OR-IP>:7876/test
Scroll down to Debug at the bottom of the UI, select retrievePrunedData and enter the admin password from earlier.  <Wait 10 min>

Hi. Does this part actually have to be done for it to start retrieving archives, and if so, does it need to be done each time the node is restarted?

Thank you and @++

New website looks great!

Please put the NXT logo and write underneath "Visit the NXT community forums!", or something similar :)

DeBuNe / Re: Some dividends have arrived
« on: June 15, 2016, 02:47:27 am »
Just for your feedback: I held DeBuNe assets for 8 months but had recently placed my assets for sale at ~15. Then you buy them back immediately prior to paying surprise dividends which feels like using insider knowledge against me. I feel my support for the project over 8 months deserved better treatment. That is, the dividends should have been paid before the buyback. You're entitled to do it the way you did, but it felt like a kick in the mouth to someone who had supported the project.

It is not insider trading, as they have been buy back by the asset issuer (not others for profit).

I am sorry you decided to sell them at 15, but if you did so you got your income through the sale, right? In a way I gave back to people wanting out (buy buying - and thus paying - the shares they wanted to sell which else nobody would have bought), and gave back to those that had more trust and were still waiting.

Price is not up too much, you can buy back almost the same quantity of shares if you hurry up!

Thank you for the past support anyways!

Roberto

I guess it would have felt fairer to me if there had been some 1-2 weeks between the buyback and dividend. Thanks for your thoughts & all the best.
