Amazing! I will set up a node immediately. :)

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Can I mine NXT with GPU?
« on: September 09, 2017, 12:23:43 pm »
You cannot mine NXT at all because it is a proof-of-stake currency, not proof-of-work. But you can forge. Leave your wallet open and activate forging in order to generate blocks at random and proportional to your stake compared to the entire forging stake of the network. If successful you earn the fees of the specific block. But it's not really profitable with small amounts of NXT.

If you want receive NXT by mining I'd recommend to mine at a multipool and then exchange your profits to NXT.

Well, that's how crypto works. That's the same principle for all cryptos out there.
Guess what, it's even the same principle how all encryptions work. You know the public key. And theoretically, you could guess the private key. But that would you take more time than the age of the universe with current technology.

Edit: To be more precise: There is the possibility that you guess an already existing Nxt ID with a different password. But that would not be sufficient in order to access the funds. As far as I understood once you make a transaction a public key will be assigned to the Nxt ID so you need to guess the public key correctly in order to access funds on the blockchain. I think the public key is secured by an elliptic curve algorithm called "Curve25519". That's where my knowledge stops.

Well, the what-should-I-do-keep-nxt-or-sell-it-all-for-Ignis-or-Ardor discussion just got even trickier. :D

Nxt General Discussion / Re: How to Trade ARDR
« on: August 30, 2017, 04:16:19 pm »

I have some ardr in a free ardor wallet on android. Now I've downloaded the nxt client and want to transfer my ardors to the asset section of my nxt client. If I try to send and just put my address of my nxt client, the wallet also needs a message, otherwise he wants to exchang my ardr to nxt. Is there a way to transfer ardors to nxt client without exchanging it first to nxt?

I just tried this wallet, it indeed seems that it's not possible to send Ardor from this wallet to your Nxt account because the wallet is extremely simple. So exchanging would be probably the easiest thing to do. You can then again exchange your Nxt for Ardor in the Nxt wallet: Asset ID: 12422608354438203866.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: IGNIS ICO
« on: August 29, 2017, 05:25:28 pm »
Hi all  :D

seems that the ico has suffered from a kind of attack today but the system has proved once again its efficiency and its balance ...

As you saw a shitty head hidden under the address NXT-GJE7-KWDJ-SFWJ-APQ6S tried unsuccessfully to sabotage the ico by sending in mass 1-token transaction with the purpose of pushing all the others transactions to the next block where the transaction order is normal (+ fees = first in the list) and buy may be all stock ... or just to sabotage...  :o

But Failed  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I love this platform  :D always full in stories and dramas  ;D ;D ;D

I agree. Never participated in such a dramatic and exciting ICO. Yes, it's frustrating but the joy is even greater when you got lucky. :D

So if NXT assets are getting phased out for IGNIS, then why would anyone wait for the Snapshot, when they obviously would end up with less IGNIS?
Where did you hear they would be phased out? And what exactly does that mean? If NXT indeed becomes worthless, then it's best to spend it all on JLRDA now.

Btw, does anyone know if IGNIS will be listed on exchanges, or is it only Ardor?

At the moment it doesn't make sense to list Ignis on exchanges because it is not tradeable. But still there are at least two exchanges that already list Ignis based on a promise to payout Ignis when it's released.

Well written! I'm excited for the next round. :)

Nxt General Discussion / Re: Scam Alert
« on: August 10, 2017, 04:05:08 pm »
i think the best way to combat something like this is send similar looking tokens to the same holders but this time add SCAM to the asset description. With a warning to not buy it nor others. right now if a newbie sees it, they think it would be okay to just buy more of the scam asset.

That's a great idea.

I propose to warn newcomers in the client with a red text that is something like "Only use the the green ICO button at the top and do not buy JLRDA from any other sources."

This ICO "method" is the worst ive ever seen.

It may be not the best. But it's the most exciting for sure.  :D

Fees only matter if the block is full. If the block is not full then "Within the block, the unconfirmed transactions are sorted by arrival timestamp".

The game has changed - those who submit the highest numbers of orders with the largest fees win.

Not true. Have a look on all the transaction fees.

Nxt General Discussion / Re: IDEA - Broker Services to buy IGNIS ICO
« on: August 07, 2017, 02:08:59 pm »
This is an interesting idea and it could work if some established exchange would offer this service because they have the credibility and the infrastructure. But creating a new platform would be problematic because it is not trustworthy using a non-established third party platform.

Thanks Riker. This is an ingenious solution. I got my JLRDA this morning using a bot to be honest. With this update, bots should become obsolete.
Incidentally, much respect for staying so rational and calm during the panic in the past days. I acknowledge it must have been tough for you and the dev team.

Great job!

I did not have the software, i was log in online to access my wallet. So i have so many transactions without any issues. So why is this happening? Is there anything that i can do?

I see, you are using mynxt? Then it's probably just a technical issue. But if you want to use access immediately for some reason it's always possible to download the Nxt client or if it's urgent to use https://nxt.jelurida.com/index.html.

Did you try to restart the Nxt software? This is not unusual.
I see your NXT balance at https://nxtportal.org/monitor/ or https://mynxt.info/blockexplorer/. So everything is fine. I guess you just need to restart your wallet to see the correct balance.

ok so best guess is i wasnt mathing right.  my best calcs now is the whale has 5223702.7 worth of NXT open in phased orders between those 33 transactions.  wonder why whale is doing it this way?

I'm wondering as well. Yesterday I tried to grab some JLRDA by looking if there are JLRDA available and then immediately buy. This didn't work out, because the amount of available JLRDA is only seen using the api when the transaction is included in the blockchain, i.e. I can only execute my transaction one block later. Now I tryto execute the buy order in the same block by looking for unconfirmed transactions und then immediately post a buy order. Unfortunately, the buy order is just ignored doing it this way. I don't use any phased transactions and I only post one buy order because I don't have the NXT to fill several buy orders. But probably therein lies the trick but I don't understand it yet.

Unfortunately my bot did not work. Wasted 5 hours or so. :D
My bot did not even saw the transaction. I thought already his bot is more sophisticated.
Well I don't want to waste more time on this. I'll go all in Ardor. :P

I got my bot ready now. At least I hope so. Not sure if it will work but I did some testing using my own test currency.
btw.: some idiot bought 5 fake tokens from me, lol. :D

Is this final or will there be any reconsiderations if whales continue eating up all cheap NXT?

This ICO has been planned for several month. One whale has bought 1% of the tokens. Should we scrap the whole thing?

I see that Jelurida is in a very difficult position now but I was hoping that you would come up with some solution. Probably there is just no solution otherwise you would have suggested it.

If this continues, this will lead to a very bad distribution and much frustration. The history of Nxt somehow repeats.  :-\

I'm thinking about writing my own bot but I'm still considering if it's worth the effort.^^
