That was just another symptom though. The community wanted to go one way, the devs another, so most of the community just left and sold.
Which, in itself, was a symptom of them not having their interests aligned.

I keep attempting to deposit ARDR from my wallet to Bittrex. Unencrypted message just like instructed. But the transaction isnt going through. It just gives me my a

message after I push transfer. But nothing ever transfers.

:/
Looks like you didn't sign the transaction with your passphrase.
Provide your passphrase when creating the transaction.

Could you please stop insinuating that we are doing otherwise and are always out there selling bloody private ones?
We are not, nor have we ever been!
It would be nice for the nxt holders to have at least transparency about these revenues, or even better a stake.
This in order to prevent wild conspiracies or just conspiracy theories and to align community interests with developer interests.

For example, 10 procent of that revenue could also be used to strengthen NXT by buying up nxt which is sent to the genesis account.

Maybe you could first explain how to pump the price and how you will profit from that?

I'm working on a way to do that super easy, but need beta testers.
Look at my sig.  Format your AE asset like that NXT:assetid and I'll make a posting soon explaining why.
Nice to see you have a website and an interesting nxt chain related project.

I took the freedom to test it a bit...

Nxt General Discussion / Re: The truth about the NXT Asset Exchange
« on: April 01, 2016, 01:15:41 am »
There seems to be a trend of glorification of the AE.

Here is my estimates about what's really going in our wonderful AE ecosystem.
I divide the assets into groups as follows:
50% - scam to begin with
30% - really tried but couldn't deliver so the value dropped to 0
15% - people use their reputation to raise funds and disappear
4% - who knows
1% - real functional assets. None of them is a big hit IMO

Prove me wrong please.

I also estimate that the AE causes massive flow of funds out of the NXT ecosystem when people raise NXT by selling assets to whales which has nothing to do with their NXT, and dump then on the nearest exchange the next day.

true story mate!

Won't it too attract new funds when people want to buy more NXT to join a asset IPO? Isn't that in balance with the funds that go out?
So far these assets (some scam, some (initially) real) have only been advertising their assets on this forum.
I still have to see an asset advertising outside this forum, let stand outside this forum exclusively.
Do you have an example (not on this forum) of a website showing they use nxt ae and how you can become a shareholder using nxt?

Nxt General Discussion / Re: what to issue: assets or currency?
« on: March 09, 2016, 05:21:37 pm »
I would choose an asset, though indeed both work for your use case.
You cannot make additional issues later on, on neither currency nor asset... But you can make another asset that extends the old one. Or when issuing the asset you can create 10 times what you expect it will need. As long as the asset issuer account is not voting, it shouldn't impact the voting process.
You could make a website using the nxt api in the background, do a plugin in the current client, or even write your custom client.

I feel very dissapointed at this asset, it's NEXT asset swap rate lost 50% of our investment, and now the price again halved, we lost -75% of the invested money.

You need to manage the asset better because people are losing confidence.

It's not the swap actually that cause a price diminution but NXT 2.0. A majority of assets have lost in value due to fear or people that want more NXT before the hardfork.
;D ;D ;D
Blame it on some other idea that isn't even in development.
If that was true, then why is nxt dropping against statist fiats?

Did anyone propose an alternate model that is viable for  the scalability concern ? That's what is expected to be discussed.
Nothing that has been really discussed, but yes...

The attitude of the developers that have already made the decisions and you can not change anything.

What about the community? What about the customers & investors?

Without all of us, NXT would be nothing!
One should never annoy its customers / community.
Sooner or later, such a practice is always revenge.

Just my 2Cents  ;)
You could look at it from the other way...
A unique opportunity to separate the wheat from the chaff.

The community that likes to be lead continues with nxt 2.0.
They do have to start a new codebase but have a nice dev team to do that.

Those that do opt for decentralize everything can stick to nxt 1.7 and find a more decentralized way to create consensus related to updating to the next nxt...

You get the opportunity to choose what you want the most.

Maybe our algo is too simple, and doesn't give enough incentive to be a "really good forger"?

Our incentive to be a "really good forger" is block fee.Not sure if our algo is too simple, but even so,simple is not a bad thing. If you can get a job done by simple way,why use complex way.I don't think Caspar is better.

In NXT,if you don't have 51% forging stake,you can't do bad thing,if you have 51% forging stake,you won't do bad thing.
Couldn't have worded it better.

I have connection to the nas blockchain with these peers...

Code: [Select]
{
    "peers": [
        "162.211.181.47",
        "192.126.123.112",
        "222.73.27.225",
        "188.86.102.150",
        "89.247.148.163"
    ]
}

However account 14428818721433318587 nor transaction 16157803257724534684 exist on that chain / fork...
Ask to bter and poloniex what peers they have for their nas blockchain, retrievable when running a node and invoking the getPeers option on http://localhost:7876/test

Maybe poloniex was on a, now death, fork when transacting your nas.

Implementing childchains, reducing future bloat and increasing tx in a block can all be done without having to start all over again. Nor do we have to delete all the improvements on nxt for 2 years to achieve this....
https://nxtforum.org/core-development-discussion/aternate-nxt-2-0-design/

I read your proposal several times.
You start with "NXT stays the way it is, just get expanded with another feature: childchains" so far I follow you.
What comes next might be useful (have to admit I don't understand it) but it's not NXT and has no clear relation to the way NXT works.
Basically, what you are saying is leave NXT alone, add on top of this a feature that I can't really explain and this will solve the blockchain bloat problem.
Currently there is no blockchain bloat problem, maximally there could be a blockchain bloat problem once nxt gets succesfull and used a alot and scales in transactions and thus blockchain size. Problem is the limited availability of light clients.
As I said to JL, I am also willing to clarify the idea to you with an audio link like telephone or skype...
I am not a programmer, but I do understand cryptocoin architecture and am willing to explain.
What part do you not understand?

NAS Coins verschwunden – Transaktion in Pending

Frank

Transaction fees for transfering fNXT will be at least 100 NXT. It will not be a convenient token for everyday transactions. Why should NXT be marginalized?
What a shame that the community always wanted lower transaction fees and instead they get multiplied by 100  :(
Also a shame, that even though POS is way more efficient than POW, we will need to pay more fees for a transaction on the energy efficient cryptocoin.

With NXT 2.0, except fNXT transfers, all other fees can be lowered.  From my understanding fees were higher to prevent bloat and spamming.  NXT 2.0 addresses the bloat issue and would even think the max txs in a block could be raised.  Spamming could still be an issue, however it would have less of a negative effect
Implementing childchains, reducing future bloat and increasing tx in a block can all be done without having to start all over again. Nor do we have to delete all the improvements on nxt for 2 years to achieve this....
