About
Project NXT Storm is a benchmark of NXT network. We're going to test the robustness of the NXT network until it breaks, and see what happens. Basically we're planning a big show with explosions and broken chains! On hundreds of nodes at once. And we hope to find bugs&bottlenecks before they manifest on the mainnet.

The idea is to run the test when NXT 1.3 is released, and then repeat to it every major release [for example when Transparent Forging is implemented] to track the progress.

Yes, just slowly.
Free time is a rare resource.

I've tested a Raspberry PI at the beginning of the week [it can do 5TPS]. I hope to make similar test with a few nodes on a VPS this weekend. We'll see if time allows.

Regarding testing, there is an offer for $300 free VPS usage in the google cloud:

As far as i can see, you can use up to 24 cores/VMs: 8 per region usa/europe/asia. It expires after 60 days or as soon as the $300 are used up.

Has anyone used this Google deal yet for a Nxt node ?

(BTW: set up a TestNet node, up 24/7, see my sig. I'll keep it up for a while, at least until Shitstorm has run it's course)

I saw benchmarks done by yourself, but isn't there any community Testnet effort being undertaken?
