Are you going to update SuperNet to v1.5.14?

As far as I know, the next SuperNET release should happen in the v2 branch only, and activate superBTC (and superLTC, superDOGE) along with superBTCD, superVRC, superOPAL and superBITS as default, as they work in the SuperNET Lite v2.0.5.

Longzai has been having trouble to continue client development due to RL commitments and we cannot wait any longer, so development of SuperNET v2 UI has changed hands. The new client back end developer is well known around here, and he's joining eth and toenu in a few days :)

Would be cool to update this...
the last database format is incompatible with 1.5.12, you can't use blockchain from peerexplorer for example

The MGW service has moved to SuperNET servers, and mgwBTC servers will be offline soon, so there's hardly a reason to update NRS in this client. Development at this moment has moved completely to SuperNET Lite.

Unfortunately it's not so
there's a couple of very nice plug-ins there
dividend plug-in for example
I wasted half of the day today to pay the Coinomat dividend, and haven't done it yet.
Probably I should look into the code now, because something really weird comes up -
for example if you try to use dividends plug-in in Supernet client installed at remote server you can't pay to more than 100 shareholders.
It's hardcoded somewhere :)

Found out, it's an API limit introduced in 1.5.12.1
why???

is there plans to integrate dividends plugin in lite client?

That is a tough call for the lite client. You can modify the amount of API results in the config file. While when you are connecting to outside Nxt nodes (which it is doing when you do not have it running localhost and activated cors), you cannot control the config file or the node behavings of Nxt.

I would recommend to run Nxt on your computer and modify the nxt.maxAPIRecords= to your needs, then do the dividends.

I hope this helps

Crazy thing with running NXT locally is the latest SuperNET release is incompatible with the recent NXT DB format

so I'll do it at a remote machine, since locally rescan and DB rebuild can drive you crazy.

we had to hack the client, it's not good but what can you do.

I removed my thoughts about NXT core developers.

But they are not professionals, they do not understand how to develop and which features to implement.

Every time I try work with next, I want to kill core developers, because code is full of magic firty hacks.

Making limits is the worst thing I have even seen! This broke completely dividend payments and we spent 5 hours to fix it.

For the record this is not my point of view :)
My colleague overreacts a little.

I think the problem is not with the development but with the documentation and access to the information necessary at this point. Sadly, most of it needs to be done by user & reviews (the problem has to occur so one is aware of it). So if you find something annoying you had to deal with, maybe publish this problem somewhere in this forum or maybe in the wiki so other developers will not have the same problem but a solution at hand.

We could indeed argue about the default number of this API call, maybe there is room for more than a 100

make it 500 at least
you even can't see all the asset holders for most assets at AE with this limit

There is no need to put any limits at all.

Everyone who needs such limits will put first-last params, for example for displaying.

The most ugly thing is that you CHANGE the rules without any reasons!

The worst thing is that you don't understand, that NXT core client should not be started on local PC.

It needs a lot of RAM and network, at the right way to use NXT is to run it on separate virual server in you home/office network, put nginx with https to make connection from you and NXT core secure.

Hello there I have a question about privacy on SuperNET v1.5.12.1

Since this version doesnt rely on a central server (havent seen it connect to it, unlike version 2.0 and above) is your IP address revealed to the network when you login?

Or do you have some basic privacy bcoz you connect to random peers?

I think the supernet v2.0 has less privacy because it connects directly to some servers.

Please explain!

I suppose this version is deprecated and not recommended to use for multigateway, you can use supernet lite v2 in local mode, take a look at the README inside the supernet download folder:
Quote
- If you want to have SuperNET Lite to connect to your local Nxt, make sure your Nxt has the right configuration:

1) Download Nxt: http://nxt.org
2) Activate CORS in your Nxt (nxt/conf) config file.
   Set nxt.apiServerCORS=true and
   nxt.uiServerCORS=true
3) Start Nxt
4) Start SuperNET Lite

Is there any way to just connect through TOR?

I saw the config file nxt-default.properties for this version, you can set there many parameters regarding the connection server.

Cant you route all things through TOR? Is there some configuration to do that?

I never had the need to use tor, but I suppose you can run nxt over tor network and connect to your own node, from nxt wiki, doing a fast search I found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg3875933#msg3875933https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg3875933#msg3875933 and this https://nxtforum.org/nxt-helpdesk/how-to-run-nrs-over-tor/
Hope it helps
