How to install
Do you have FreeMarket.zip?
Unzip somewhere and move it's content into the NRS folder. run_market.bat and run_market.sh should be placed near run.bat, run.sh and new html folder should overwrite previous html folder.
Execute run_market.bat (or run_market.sh on Mac/Linux) and wait until NRS ready to use. Clean cache of the browser and open your wallet.

I'm using the exe-version of the nxt client. When I integrate freemarket, when do I have to start the bat-file, before or after the client is ready to log in?

The exe version of client is not fully supported. You can run FreeMarket in standalone mode. Here is how you can do it:

Having your NXT client running...

1. unzip FreeMarket.zip somewhere
2. Go to html/ui/FreeMarket/NxtPass and start run.bat
3. Go to html/ui/FreeMarket and open index.html

Thanks! I followed this procedure, it's running well in firefox. You should add this to your operation instructions :-).

BTW: opening index.html with IE10 -> I can not see items  ("Buy-> View all" results i an empty list)...

Thanks for reporting that. Now I have to go download IE 10. Maybe I shouldn't thank you  ;)

But really, thanks!

there is also a later operation and use of freemarket for normal people?
I will not download anything to me and the majority of the non crypto world even.

What about online service? Will you use your passphrase on it?

yes the majority of people make it that way. me too.
I like it simple and fast as the majority.
but I'm sure you'll work on it when you realize that one so does not generate new clientele.

I think using a website is appealing to a lot of people. It's certainly easy. That's part of the reason people use eBay. FreeMarket, and cryptos in general, aren't for everyone.

But if you want security and privacy, you aren't going to be using eBay or anything that can expose your IP or your passphrase. And if you have ever had a payment from a buyer reversed for some BS reason or your account frozen, you won't use PayPal either.

It sounds like eBay meets your needs though, as it does for lots of people. Nothing wrong with that.

Yes, of course, and there are ways around these problems. eBay and similar services were not built with privacy in mind.

How anonymous is this solution? Is IP leaked anywhere? Hardest part would be getting currency into an account without a link to your account/identity... Which I guess we'll need to wait for teleport?

This is not my area of expertise, but I'll tell you what I think, and someone can correct me if I am wrong. All the transactions with FreeMarket happen locally, on your own machine and on your own copy of the blockchain. I don't think the blockchain logs any IP addresses, does anyone know for sure?

that sounds good !
I'm very old-fashioned. I use no ebay, no paypal, no credit card and cash for everything possible. do not have a smartphone. actually I belong not to NXT and am still there  ;D

I will download it later on weekend or so, because i like it what you do!

The freemarket website gives me a "509 Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" at the moment.

I was just thinking of linking it to the Doge-Redditers - since they seemed to have lost shops thanks to the Moolah debacle, and are looking for alternatives. Their option is so far to set up websites with woocommerce and payment plugins - which is quite a bit of work and learning for people who are not used to it.
If freemarket could use SuperNet/InstantDex or the Atomic chain to allow direct trading in DOGE (with NXT only in the background if necessary), then that could be a great target group. Just an idea.

FreeMarket does not store it for sure. NRS also should not store it anyway. I heard James is making something to hide IP with darknet so it seems there is a treat of revealing the IP address. If you know any details how IP address could be revealed let us know.

It should be up again soon, working on getting up much more bandwidth.
