I found out that it is highly likely that the current 1.2.5 release will most likely break MGW. While the code changes required are probably minimal, since big money is at stake, if it does turn out not to be backward compatible I will take MGW offline at DGS block.

I suggest that people either protest to make sure the new release is 100% backward compatible, or to withdraw everything from MGW. Either way is fine by me. The latter will allow for clean migration to production servers. The former allows me to not worry about this right now.

I really cannot be keeping up with the daily new releases. Once I finish something, it is nice if I can assume it will continue working without a new release breaking backward compatibility.

Simple syntax changes like "Account" -> "AccountId" seems like no big deal, except it breaks software that is looking for "Account"
why such changes are made is a mystery to me, it has no value and "Account" could have stayed "Account" and not caused breaking of already debugged and working apps.

All of these new encryption modes and features are nice, but when default behavior breaks things then I do not like it. Please find a dedicated MGW dev or make sure NRS releases are backwards compatible. API behavior needs to be stable

I used it just now with 1.2.5 and it worked.
Except the withdrawals so far. How long are the withdrawal times currently?
I have issued two of them, one and a half hour ago, and no transaction was issued to the BTC blockchain.
I thought that was quicker the first time I used it.

Is anybody else having deposit delays? I'm still waiting on a BTC deposit from yesterday that has 104 confirmations at this point. Transaction # 7ba15825625b5bc6037e30490e5b46711aa6daf2f9d13d6c33e119065a7fd25d
txid 11381683547678850177 it was transferred around 500 NXT blocks ago
Maybe it is GUI display issue? have you refreshed the page?

Thanks for the reply. You're right, assets were transferred yesterday. I was looking at my mgwBTC balance in the asset exchange instead of in "my assets." The two show different balances because in the exchange it shows your balance minus open sell orders, while in "my assets" it shows your whole balance including sell orders. I have a few open sell orders and thought the adjusted balance I saw in the exchange was my full balance. My mistake, thanks for clearing that up.

Transactions are through now.
Also my mind has been slowly processing :D So do you mean - it works now but not after the DGS block?

I am not sure. I am supposed to drop everything else I am doing to figure it out, make any required changes, have it tested. But I have three days during the weekend I am to make Teleport release

Not to mention that 1.2.5 broke the MGW Lite UI. ;(

Granted, user can fix that issue.

Are withdrawals being processed? I've been waiting quite a while for my withdrawal now.

Your coins are not lost.

Can you share the Nxt ID you did the withdrawal with?

So should I pull any open orders I have on multigateway until these compatibility issues are resolved? Is there any danger to my funds?

No, the assets will still be there, and the BTC will still be there. James said, if 125 breaks the mgw he will take it down and have to do manual withdrawal requests. Which pisses him off, and I don't blame him.

First of all, your funds are not in danger. James already said that, in the worst case (backwards compatibility issues are not fixed in NRS, and MGW is not updated before block 213,000, forcing the service to a pause) he could manually process withdrawals for anyone requesting them.

In other words, the API change would affect automated operations between the user and the MGW servers, but the multisig accounts are unaffected.

Perhaps one of the servers is on hold. Pakis - can you share your Nxt account ID?
