Not a stupid question.

The internal balances in the deposit accounts do not represent the amount of BTC you have in your Nxt account - the amount of mgwBTC assets you have do, in this case (I almost copied the sentence in the asset description).

The MGW wallets do internal transactions between all the available multisig accounts, also when BTC are sent somewhere because a user sent back mgwBTC assets requesting a withdraw to an external address. And of course these internal transactions are not connected to whatever mgwBTC transactions happen in the Nxt AE. If you deposit 2 BTC and then sell the mgwBTC for NXT, that does not mean that the 2 BTC deposited in the multisig account bound to your Nxt account are moving anywhere. Reversely, you might leave those 2 mgwBTC untouched in your Nxt account, and in the meantime the MGW servers might use that 2 BTC input for an internal or external BTC operation. It does not matter; the mgwBTC are still yours, and they are still backed by 2 BTC in the MGW wallets. What's important is that the total of unspent BTC in the wallets and the total of mgwBTC distributed remain balanced.

So in summary, the 38DE6zFvqNbf6pkfwSah4JoQ89d3KzGpkY address is just a deposit address to reach your Nxt account, and it does not represent your balance. The mgwBTC you have do. If I buy 1.5 mgwBTC I have 1.5 BTC available for withdrawing in the MGW wallets. Even if I don't even have a multisig deposit address generated.

This is a bit confusing indeed!

I am running Nxt 1.5.15 - but the SuperNET v1 download has Nxt 1.5.12 included. But I am reluctant to just use my Nxt 1.5.15 database in 1.5.12, because I think there was a rescan involved somewhere n the way from 1.5.12 to 1.5.15- am I right there?
The problem is that this could damage the 1.5.15 DB and not work at all, I think.

SuperNET Lite v2 has some basic functionality included- it is possible to access some of the coin wallets. Also, coinomat and coinmal are integrated, but not active yet.

Well, so sending some Nxt is something for starters, I guess!

And what is the 'pin' number I have to enter?

About the Multigateway: Is it going to be included in upcoming SuperNET releases again soon? (not wanting to risk that 1.5.12 vs 1.5.15 chancy procdeure)

We're testing the SuperNET Lite 2.0.6 beta client, in process of fixing minor issues now. This will include MGW support for BTC, LTC, DOGE, BTCD, VRC, OPAL, BITS and of course NXT, in form of a multiwallet, with simple coin transfer options and no local blockchain download - using Jay nodes. Then there's an advanced mode that allows you to access the complete NRS/AE interface besides the multiwallet.

In the current SuperNET 2.0.5 release, the PIN was a simplified login method; first the user imports his account passphrase locally, and chooses a PIN to login with that account instead of the whole passphrase. Then the login page offers the option to choose between all the imported accounts and login with the corresponding PIN.

The incoming v2.0.6 will most likely include other login options.

Important Service Notice:

The MGW for SuperNET core coins (BTCD, VRC, OPAL, BITS) will be taken down in an hour for migration to the new SuperNET code base. This way the incoming SuperNET 2.0.6 client will only work with servers running new code for all active coins in the release: BTC, BTCD, BITS, DOGE, LTC, NXT, OPAL and VRC.

If you have any pending operations with BTCD, VRC, OPAL or BITS, you can do them now - or resume them with the SuperNET Lite 2.0.6 release, ETA 2-3 days.

The mgwBTC servers are not affected by this move.

Normally, I wait 6 hours or more before posting, but since you ask, my latest deposit is delayed more than an hour already, so I suspect that there is a problem.

Yes, mgwBTC still works - but with the usual ups and downs, servers had to be restarted this morning and will be synced up in few hours.

But we're working so these delays will be gone next week with new SuperNET Lite client. Doing good progress with BTCD/VRC/OPAL/BITS migration, new service for SuperNET core coins should be running this weekend, joining the already working BTC/LTC/DOGE cluster. Then we finally can have all coins, BTC, LTC and DOGE included, in the new client version finished by tosch110.

Yes, it is queued. Right before the weekend we started migration of all the SuperNET core coins to the new MGW v2 code and servers, and it is done. All coins run now on MGW2 code:

The client hasn't been yet released precisely because migration of BTCD from old MGW wallets is not over (97%) and the last bits are taking longer. Manual multisig is laborious, and there is quite a lot of small inputs to move in this case.

And since the MGW balance needs to be 0+ for withdraws to be processed, withdraws will move when the remaining BTCD are moved over. Should not take long.

In the meantime, if anyone requests superBTCD withdraws manually they will be added to the queue.

This is SuperNET Lite 2.0.6, and while it is a separate standalone download, it is unzip and go. It works with Jay and MGW2 nodes so no local blockchains are required.

I suppose it could be ported as a NRS plugin, although as far as I know this is not in the roadmap at the moment. Mostly because there are several large features that will be added in upcoming releases (namely, InstantDEX ad FinHive tools) so the SN client will grow way beyond plugin size.

Hmm.. I think having just (at least) the mgw support being an NRS plugin makes a lot of sense.

First of all, and anticipating some questions - for those who use the BTC gateway in the old mgwBTC servers.

In order to prevent some edge cases in this one time old-servers-to-new migration, the swap of mgwBTC for superBTC will be processed manually. Keep in mind that as assets are swapped coins are moved from old wallets to the new, in order to keep system balances at all times, so the swaps might be subject to small delays. So, in order to swap your assets:

No special syntax is needed for this message since this will be processed manually.

- Once you have your superBTC, you can see them displayed in the dashboard of the new SuperNET Lite 2.0.6.

- And why should I swap my assets?

Although the old mgwBTC servers will stay alive for a bit, the new SuperNET servers are faster and much more stable, plus the new SuperNET client works with them and takes advantage of some new features (specially free deposit address generation and server status information). Also, note that client development for mgwBTC has been discontinued, so all the market activity will be progressively displaced to superBTC.
However, mgwBTC will not lose their value. InstantDEX will treat the different BTC assets as equivalent, and mgwBTC are still backed by BTC deposited in the old servers.

We'll post a notice in advance when the mgwBTC servers are getting closer to go offline, but that won't happen before the end of September.
