To be honest I understand that you have /had technical problems. I heard about restart, RAM, etc... I heard that "it should be back in a few hours".
I heard that the blockchain is growing... which is not really a surprise. We can even expect it to grow further.

Those are nice stories but.... 16d! I start losing trust, really.

Can you update on the current status? Are you finally processing transactions manually?

The pending operations in current BTC servers, including withdraws, have finally been processed. Withdraws took the longest time because they need all three servers fixed and fully in sync, which happened just a bit ago.

Before the weekend, two servers were still stuck. The second kept crashing and restarting, so the operator granted me access yesterday, and as all evidence suggested it was a server related issue, I migrated everything to a new dedicated server. The other two nodes also needed intervention, and after hours in startup scan (and processing BTC blocks from the last couple weeks!) the three servers have finally made it back to realtime processing.

Apologies from the BTC operators to all the users that had to wait for days to see their transactions completed.

In the SuperNET side we keep doing testing and debug for the new BTC MGW service, which will go live as soon as the code has the green light. Until then, delays with BTC gateway / SuperNET v1 client can happen if one of the current BTC servers needs a restart, since full BTC initialization process takes easily 5+ hours with the legacy MGW code run in current servers. But this long downtime we just went through has been the last of its kind, now I operate one of the nodes and I'll do my best to keep things flowing.

And I am very happy to announce that my withdrawal finally went through indeed!
It seems to be very fresh, I can see only 2 confirmations yet but it is in.

VanBreuk, it sounds like 3/3 servers need to be up to ensure proper operation. Would that not make sense to have an extra one ready to take over in case another goes down? That means that any of the server (up to one), could go down without anyone (but the ops

to notice it.

Actually I'm sorry I didn't leave updates more frequently, since I've been working to get servers back in sync for the last couple days. But to be honest I was tired to give wrong estimates again and again, so I waited to report when the news were solid - when I had the upper hand.

Not possible with the current code running in BTC gateway, since it works with 2-of-3 multisig but it does require consensus of the three, even if only two need to sign the transaction afterwards. With new MGW code versions, however, scalability and flexibility may be a different story, but I prefer to leave any comments about the M-of-N question to james.

I'd really hope that important messages such as this one would be visible on my supernet client and also on multigateway.org as a backup plan..

i only consult this thread when i saw that my deposit does not appear..

The BTC gateway should be operational again at midnight time, GMT, approximately. Any pending operations in these last hours will be processed then.

If anyone wants a testing approach to the latest SuperNET MGW agent, and before the SuperNET v2 client activates them in the next release, the new MGW servers are online

Here's a quick Q&A:

- What's in these new servers?
New, improved gateway for BTC, LTC and DOGE, for starters.

- Improved how?
Most specially, greater stability and much faster start times. BTC initialization takes around 10 minutes in each server, compared to the ~6 hours required in current BTC servers (which officially become the old servers).
Also, more features. The server status information you can find now in SuperNET v2 for BTCD, VRC, OPAL and BITS will also be available for BTC, LTC and DOGE in the upcoming SuperNET v2 release. Multisignature deposit address generation is automated and does not require a fee. And times for withdraw processing are stabilizing right after 10 Nxt network confirmations after the withdraw request is sent, which in average is about 20 minutes. MGW code now is an agent inside of the SuperNET code, which benefits from all the network features and API in SuperNET. And operator response times are also faster - which helps everything else to work.

- Can I use the new servers already?
They are not active in the client yet, but you can test them now manually if you want (generate your new deposit address, deposit and withdraw BTC, LTC, DOGE). Come over to SuperNET Slack, join #testing-mgw and grab the testing instructions in the sticky.

- So I need a new deposit address? What about the current BTC MGW deposit address?
New servers use new wallets, hence new multisig addresses. Old addresses stay in the old servers, but no worries - they will stay active for some time.

- What about BTC assets?
To the existing superBTCD, superVRC, superOPAL or superBITS we're adding now superBTC, superLTC and superDOGE. Of course the previous mgwBTC market stays active (and in InstantDEX, mgwBTC = superBTC) but once the new client version is released, there will be an asset swap service for whoever wants to move over and use the new gateways for BTC operations, and the SuperNET v2 client for all the coins.

So to curious, tech oriented Nxters - you're invited to a testing appetizer in SN Slack. You just need your Nxt Client and some coins. In any case, more news soon.
