So, mgwBTC withdrawals are going through pretty fast these days?

Edit: Yep! about half an hour to appear on the blockchain

The current Nxt Services Plugin 1.4.9.1 still uses development servers, but the next GUI update may start using production servers. We'll announce this change when it happens, including the simple steps to follow for existing MGW users.

Withdrawals are working smooth now because development servers are up and synced. Production servers are meant to be more stable than development servers, so long processing times happen less frequently.

So its actually not 4 confirmations untill a transaction is geting processed, but rather 40 confirmations?
If its that, then that would be a logical reason for the 45-60min :)
bitcoin averages 10 minutes per confirmation, up to an hour is actually somewhat common. like a 6 minute block for NXT.
I think most NXT peoples forget how painfully slow bitcoin is

Ah, so the 45 - 60 min are until first confirmation  on the bitcoin blockchain?

....ah well, I will just wait for the new servers to be released and test the speeds then. Looking forword to that :)

That warning was added to the website since overall the processing times were slower than usual, and It has nothing to do with the fees. When requesting a withdrawal, there's a 0.0001 mgwBTC Multigateway fee, and the regular 0.0001 BTC fee for the BTC blockchain miners, regardless of how fast the withdrawals are processed.

take a lot of time in process between NXT and BTC blockchian

This depends on the time between Nxt blocks, the time between BTC blocks and the status of the servers.

Development servers require ten confirmations in the Nxt blockchain before accepting a Nxt transaction (a deposit address request, or a mgwBTC withdrawal). Past those confirmations, if the three servers are up they will catch and queue the request. Servers process periodically the withdrawals in batch and sign the BTC transactions, that will be included in the BTC blockchain also following its block times.

So the processing times in MGW are variable, although if nothing causes an extra delay these times will oscillate between 45 and 90 minutes (time between requesting the withdrawal and seeing the BTC transaction pop up in your wallet).  But if one of the development servers is down, for instance, or requires maintenance, the total processing time will grow as much as the downtime/maintenance time for the server.

As has been said before, we expect to minimize down times (thus speeding up processing times) in the production servers. These are already working and they will be open to users as soon as stress test cases are finished and a new GUI is available.

So in theorie, if the Nxt block times would be 1 min and one knows when the withdraws are processed and times it accordingly. The withdraw time could be ~10min minimum?

Cool, cant wait for them to go online.

Already waiting 10 hours for my last mgwBTC withdraw :P

hmmh...

Well its 24 hours now and no sign.

I could cry,  bought on bter at 58. When price fell to 53 I thoght I would sell for 57 on mgw and would rebuy with a small profit on bter again. I calculated around 6 hours for the btc to hit bter...
Now 24 hours later, I already lost 15k (if price stays at that level and dosn't come back down).
Guess it was a bad Idea from me to use mgw at its current state for this :P

dgex response times

Dgex was the first exchange to trade Nxt, it was build just for Nxt actually.

It's volume died out due to them handling withdraws manualy which led to extream waiting times. When I still used them,  they normaly took 3-12 hours for my withdraws. Once I remember I had to wait more the 24 hours, but that was just once.

James, would you mind checking if MGW is still runing, or maybe has crashed?

Its 34 hours now (tx ID 3445285522373723502 ) and its still not there. This can't be "normel" slow processing time, maybe MGW froze and needs to be restarted or something?

no withdraws on weekend
that is the dgex way :)
I just ignore the MGW servers on the weekends so I can concentrate on coding, sorry for delays, the production servers are almost here and will do a much better job on uptime and response time
