new mgwbtc asset coming???

http://nxtexplorer.com/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=4000&switch=1&id=17554243582654188572&p=1

Makes sense. Also implies that launch is near!

James has reported a potential problem with the co-existence of development servers and production servers handling the same mgwBTC asset. This may have been a reason for technical issues when testing the production servers, so we switched testing to a fresh mgwBTC asset for production servers.

We'll report with further information once this has been reviewed in detail.

Is this multigateway Dogecoin deposit address right?
« Reply #747 on: October 24, 2014, 05:41:56 pm »

Hi,
I just generated a Dogecoin deposit address with the multigateway addon. The address starts with 9u2XQy.... I do remember that Dogecoin addresses usually start with a capital D. Is this address valid? I just want to make sure before I send my valuable Dogecoins to this address  ;D

Yes, it's valid. Deposit addresses generated by Multigateway are multi-signature addresses, and the address prefixes may differ from the usual (for instance, BTC addresses usually start with 1 while Multigateway multisig BTC addresses start with 3). So no worries.

Here is an early discussion about the implementation of multi-signature in Dogecoin.

Merging this into the Multigateway User Support thread.

I'm trying to move some BTC into NXT via MGW and this is what I get:
"Searching deposit address"
Is the service down?
I tried it yesterday and today with the same results.
It is a pity the service in not reliable  :-\

How long did you wait while it was searching? I'm 99% sure that is a client side function that would work even if the mgw servers were down. Look at your messages and see if you have one with your deposit address in it. How long ago did you request a deposit address?

"Searching deposit address" appears in theory only as you start the client, and searches the Multigateway Nxt account for the message returned by the MGW servers when you requested your deposit address. Once the search bar hits 100%, either you'll see your deposit address displayed (if it was generated and sent to the Multigateway account in an AM) or you'll see the button to request a deposit address (if the AM with your deposit address was not found, which means it has not been generated).

Do you mean the "Searching" process appears stuck? If so, as Pilot says, it may be a GUI issue. Are you using the latest 1.4.9.1 plugin?

I fixed it ;)
I had updated NXT to 1.31 but did not do anything with MGW
That broke MGW.
The fix was to install MGW latest version.
Thanks to all for your tips.

Rodrigo

I have posted a lot of good things on BTT about how MGW is a mostly trustless exchange and is exactly what crytpo needs.

In reality, the servers are up, they are down. Transactions can take half a day. It is so terrible watching my money be in limbo while testing a new service that I can't even bring myself to use MGW and I want to so much.

The great thing for me is that as a proof of concept it works! And I'm hoping it gets more stable, faster, and easier. That would be soooo awesome.

In my perfect world, I wouldn't even have to download the client but just log into a webpage like counter party or ripple of SecureAE. But it would be super fast. Hopefully that is the plan someday. I'm still watching this project with a lot of excitement.

FYI - having an issue with my node.  This affects Blackcoin, Viacoin, and Dogecoin.  Working on resolving it.  Withdraws/deposits may be slow tonight.

Ug!  Bad news.  My node received a new public IP address during the process.  I've sent it to the other two operators.  They will need to update their configs and restart their instances before withdraws/deposits will be available for BC, VIA, and DOGE.  I apologize for the inconvenience.  I've made a change to my node's config that will prevent this from being an issue in the future.

So I finaly tryed the Multigateway!
I was very suprised at how nice the UI was, espacualy I  loved the tutorial, that was just awesome!

Just one thing is horribal, why the hach are BTC withdrawls taking ages to process?! My first withdraw on the two days ago, took like 6,5 hours until it hit the BTC blockchain.
My second withdraw from yesterday, is already taking 8+ hours ...and still nothing on the blockchain.

Why are they taking that long, isn't it a automatic process?
