Multigateway User Support Thread
« on: July 29, 2014, 04:59:34 pm »

The Multigateway service has been discontinued due to not receiving development support. Only the superBTCD gateway remains operational until the end of 2017. If you still hold any superCOIN asset, check the last post in this topic.

Hello all,

We're starting this thread to provide User Support for Multigateway (MGW). You can post here questions and problems you find when using the service.

- Latest client release featuring the MGW service: SuperNET Lite 2.0.6

- Current active coins and list of MGW asset IDs:

SuperNET MGW Assets
  • superBTC - 12659653638116877017

production mgwBTC asset - 17554243582654188572
> The gateways will stay active for a few weeks, but migration to SuperNET MGW is recommended to improve performance.

old development assets
mgwBTC - 4551058913252105307
mgwBTCD - 11060861818140490423
mgwLTC - 2881764795164526882
> The gateways went offline long ago, but if anyone still holds development assets, contact me in order to transfer the coins from old development wallets to your new SuperNET deposit account.

For specific issues with the SuperNET Lite client, please ask Tosch110 in the latest release thread.

If you want to report an issue, please include your Nxt Account ID or MGW coin address, and if possible the transaction ID related to the problem.

For a general description of the service, visit http://multigateway.org

So I'm struggling to install MGW in my Wesley client. What's the easiest way?
I'm currently running the most up-to-date version, 1.1.6. I thought I had installed the MGW lite add-on, but nothing appears in the client. I ran the .exe and unzipped the files separately into the html/ui folder. No NXT Services appear in my client.
I'm clearly doing something wrong. Any ideas what?

I just tried the whole process from scratch, using Wesley's Wallet instead of plain NRS.

- Went to nxt.org and downloaded latest Wesley's Wallet for Windows.
- Downloaded Multigateway Lite beta v1.2 Extension from http://multigateway.com/#sec_downloads
- Installed Wesley's Wallet
- Unzipped the extension in Nxt Wallet/nxt/html/ui, overwriting existing files

I'm running Wesley's Wallet (using the NRS 1.1.5 in the software bundle) and NXT Services > Multigateway shows up in my wallet sidebar just fine.

No, for Wesley's 1-click client, the directory is User/AppData/Local/NxtWallet/nxt/html/ui

Actually I installed Wesley's 1-click client in a custom location, and unzipped the Lite MGW extension in that location, Nxt Wallet/nxt/html/ui. And it works fine.

Surely the directory doesn't matter so long as it's in the same place?

The point is making sure you're extracting Lite MGW in the same UI folders your client of choice is using.

For the base NRS client, that is nxt/html/ui

For Wesley's executable wallet, that is Nxt Wallet/nxt/html/ui - Edit: this might work depending on the install location; I've tried several times installing Nxt Wallet in other drives than C, and unzipping Lite MGW in the /nxt/html/ui in the install location works; however, if you install Nxt Wallet in C (For instance, in C:\Program Files (x86)) you will need to unzip Lite MGW in C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Nxt Wallet\nxt\html\ui to make sure you'll see the extension. So the valarmg's advice is good.

Ok, finally, there it is. Downloading the blockchain now but NXT Services is visible.
I think this arose from a misunderstanding on my part. Somewhere on the MGW site it said that it's best to install to \NXT. So I created a custom directory for it instead of going with the suggested path. That may or may not have referred to installing the client itself, or the MGW extension.
Anyway, I uninstalled, reinstalled to C:\Nxt Wallet, and unzipped MGW files to \Nxt Wallet\NXT\html\ui.
Would be great to include MGW in a one-click install at some point (not necessarily the default version), to make it as easy as possible to get it.

MGW already has a one-click installer for Windows in http://multigateway.com/#sec_downloads

The note in the User Guide you mention recommending the default C:/NXT path refers to this MGW Windows Installer.

But the installer uses the latest NRS client, not Wesley's executable wallet. For users who prefer Wesley's wallet, the Lite MGW Extension needs to be added manually. Maybe some time in the future Wesley's exe Wallet can add optional components in setup, including Lite MGW and others that might come.

Glad you solved it :)

How many confirmations/how much time before my newly-generated deposit address appears? It's been 10+ confirmations but nothing.

Edit: maybe some kind of error? In the transaction details:

Hello all,

We're starting this thread to provide User Support for Multigateway (MGW). You can post here questions and problems you find when installing and running the service.

Before posting, please check Multigateway.org and specifically the MGW User Guide for basics about installing the Lite MGW UI Extension required to use Multigateway.

1.- Installing the Software
2.- Getting Started
3.- Depositing Coins in MGW
4.- Withdrawing Coins in MGW
5.- MGW FAQ

For specific issues with the UI Extension (feature requests, browser issues and others) you can also post in the Lite Multigateway Releases thread, maintained by longzai1988, developer of the Lite Multigateway UI.
Great.

Meantime users need to reload the page for the deposit address to show up, we can change it to auto reload every 10 blocks or so

Can someone please tell me how long it will be until the MultiGateway is a one/two click easy to use system?

As one of the people out in the world marketing this, I want to get an idea of when the MGW will be so easy to use a caveman could do it. Literally.

I am making the assumption that easy-of-use is a major priority. (I really hope it is.) The only way we will have mass adoption is if the MGW is as easy to use and feature rich as any leading exchange. One/Two click. Done.
