whoever is developing this, dont trust the android random number generator, its fault in older android versions and if you use it to sign transactions

The code I used for NXTSolaris and hope to be able to use for an Android wallet, too, uses the RAND function from the openssl libraries. I didn't trust the Windows rand generator either. :-)

Problem with Android securerandom was fixed a lot time ago.

On Windows openssl libraries will seed random function with Windows's CryptGenRandom --- just as Java's SecureRandom will do too on  Windows.

There is no difference

Ok, older devices that have not be updated might still have a problem, in which case Google provided a patch

FYI
I think thin mobile app is good idea. Bounty should be comparable with price for developing mobile application like that. No random slump numbers. Funding will be per each completed stage.
It is not a hard and innovative task so only result would be funded. Write more precise roadmap, get it approved and get NXT for each completed stage.

No change in the last 24 hours.

We've actually seen a clever money/dumb money ratio around zero in the last hours.

I've updated the first post with a token on my account which is also the asset issuer account.

Further, there is a sell order from account NXT-UNC6-7NSF-VN9F-5WX6D (account name "Kyox"). If this is an attempt to step back from funding, you will need to transfer your assets to the issuing account NXT-X5EB-VSL5-Z7DU-3GWTJ and then I will transfer back the amount you previously funded.

If you simply set up a sell order @ 1 NXT, so that you get back your NXT in case the project is not fully funded and I put up buy orders, then you are all set. :-)
(Wasn't sure if new funders would now buy from me or you, but it seems the oldest order (my sell order) is served first.)

+1

I will inform about your fundraiser in the NXT Newsletter tonight.

BTW, fun fact… I tweeted: http://nxter.org/fundraiser-nxt-android-wallet/
The first 4 retweets were from crowd funding related ppl/platforms. Never seen that before. You may have impressed someone with your AE approach.  :D

Note to self + every marketeer: We should follow up on this asap.

Bravo! I hope others will follow this.

People might ask how to verify? Go to http://localhost:7876/test > find "decodeToken" > under website paste "Android Client for NXT" > under token paste token from here duh > and it shows:

    "accountRS": "NXT-X5EB-VSL5-Z7DU-3GWTJ",
    "account": "1758531264253431177"
}

I hope I got this right  ;D

Also will buy some of this. I want that wallet.

Quoting James from another thread:

I think if NXT had a mobile app that did QR codes, it would really help the price. Especially with all the gateways coming online, we are starting to get all of the pieces needed for NXT domination!

usually it is hard to find a good dev for any project, but we are lucky that marcus03 is able and willing to do an android app with nice graphics and QR codes. With a little encouragement he will add iOS support and maybe even AE trading.

Just imagine trading on AE while by the pool during the hot summer. Yes, with enough funds, this will be ready by summer!!

marcus has been a long time NXTer and did the solaris client, so we know he will get this done.

Please help fund this project AndroidCli 12414770996347165541
NXTcommunityfund will match NXT for NXT the first 75000 that is raised.

I read about some other places being so proud about their crowdfunding. Lets show them what real crowdfunding is!

James

Do you plan to apply for staged payments from the tech dev fund too Marcus? (See above) Could be lucrative to get to the goal ;D

I always liked the interface of your client. You have a good eye for user experience.

I can't wait to use the app.

I don't plan to pick up existing code from other projects. I would encourage anyone to pick up yueye00 code and create a compatible version.

Hi marcus03,

Sorry for a bit off derailing, but I feel somewhat responsible for the yueye00 client, as I funded it initially, in December: https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,637.0.html

My question is: if it was resurrected today, what feature set would it have to have in order not to compete, but complement your future Android client? Maybe it should be a super simple, a stripped up Pay/Receive wallet?

I won't do a formal application. Apart from wanting to build this mobile client, I also want to test this kind of crowdfunding.

Of course, if TechDevCom decided to take part in the funding, I would be flattered. :-)

I don't see how two clients could complement each other. I think they would compete, but I'd be absolutely fine with that. Users have different taste and we do want to please as many users as possible.

For what it's worth, the initial version of my client would be some kind of "stripped Pay/Receive wallet".

yueye00 client does not do local signing but sends your password to public nodes

This is the most serious flaw with it.

Absolutely! This, and the lack of encrypted "wallet" with private keys: both are planned features in marcus03 client.

This is not true.
In the earlier versions yueye00's app indeed didn't do local signing, but later he implemented local signing into his app (when it became available in NXT), please check the code.

https://github.com/JunhuaLyu/Nxt-Client-For-Android/blob/master/src/org/nextcoin/transactions/SendCoin.java

as you can see, the code which didn't do local signing in earlier versions is commented out and no longer valid, he just left it for reference or something, and the new class is introduced which does local signing.

Code: [Select]
NxtTransaction orgTransaction = new NxtTransaction(type, subtype, timestamp, deadline,
                senderPublicKey, recipient, amount, fee, referencedTransaction, signature);
        orgTransaction.sign(secret);
        String transactionBytes = NxtUtil.convert(orgTransaction.getBytes());

        String ip = nodeContext.getIP();
        String base_url = "http://" + ip + ":7874";
        String httpUrl = String.format(
                "%s/nxt?requestType=broadcastTransaction&transactionBytes=%s",
                base_url, transactionBytes);

and even the earlier code that didn't do local signing, the long commented out section at the end of the SendCoin.java file, starting with:

Code: [Select]
private void sendHttps(String secret, String recipient, float amount)

it was coded to connect to a https://   7875 secure connection, so he made sure the pass was not sent in clear text. But with local signing this code became redundant.
