Research in Nxt
« on: May 11, 2014, 12:34:39 pm »

Hi,
I'm currently doing research on cryptocurrencies and I want to test my theory on Nxt.
In order to achieve this I need to fork a new coin based on Nxt. Now, how can I
create the genesis block. In particular how do I calculate/create the signatures of the genesis
block and the transactions inside the genesis block.

best regards,

Explain your theory and what the purpose of the study is and the devs may be more helpfull. As it stands it just sounds like you need help launching another clone lol

Ok, here is the simpler version of my theory. I have a model that rewards nodes to propagate
transaction information to their peers. The model is Sybil-proof so that nodes will not create false
clones in order to claim more reward. In short this model enables nodes to make money just by propagating
transaction information which encourages them to participate in the network.

Sounds like an incentive to run node. Nodecoin was created for this purpose but uses a much different aproach i think. It was quite controversial too though lol

Il have to let the devs step in from here, sorry i cant help you.

nodecoin does something similar, though it isnt really sybil proof.
maybe it would be easier for you to implement a coin on top of NXT? I would be interested in helping you with that

I am interested, too. As far as my understanding goes, nothing can prevent Sybill attacks except transparency and disclosure.
