I wrote this on a Mac, with Parallels. I tested it with mono and yes, you can run it. I think it's as easy as "mono vanitygen.exe" from the terminal, after navigating to the folder of the executable. Also, having mono installed goes with out saying and since mono isn't an official Microsoft runtime, it is slow compared do a win environment. If you have a simple pattern to search, you should be finein OS X. More complex values should be searched in a Windows OS.

im only getting 27-30 k/sec

but when using a vanitygen for bitcoin i get about 1 M/sec... is it because nxt vanity gen isn't using all 8 cores? or its just more difficult?

These addresses are much more processor intensive. It is multi-threaded.

I've updated the download link. I was formerly using Copy to save my file, but since Barracuda Networks discontinued this service, I've moved to GDrive.

FYI, this project isn't abandoned and I do still pay attention to Nxt from time to time. However, I've not seen much use in updating this application since I've received little feedback. Feel free to comment here or contribute on Github.

how do you get the output of how many keys it has done a second? i have an i7, does it use all cores?
