I'm nearly absent for the next two months
« on: February 03, 2015, 08:27:47 am »

Hey guys,

for the next two months I'm nearly absent from the forums and the NxtOrganization. Like every half year I have to take care of my exams at university.

If anyone wants to take over in the meantime, please do so. :)

Nxt.org will still be maintained! I have a list with things, which still needs to be done. I will also update the download links immediately, so you don't have to be worried about that. :)

Thanks a lot Max for informing and your highly appreciated work in general!

What are your medium term plans for Nxt/NxtOrganization, just asking because I stumbled across this

I'm a long-time Nxt user and pretty active there. In the future I will continue to shift my focus on Crypti (like it happened drastically already!).

And of course good luck with your exams  :)

Medium it will probably be 70% Crypti / 30% Nxt (in exam stage now 95% Crypti). I'm quite unhappy about Nxt right now, as there are more scam assets everyday. Also I'm not satisfied to have millions of Nxt in the hand of one committe with only a few guys.

For me Nxt gets too much features as well, the client is getting more complicated with every update. We need to market the features we have and enhance them, instead we are building new ones.

Last but not least there are no tips anymore. I remember in the first 6 months many guys were pretty generous, the new ones aren't. This is not a problem, but it simply forces me to move to more lucrative options in the future.

Beside having all the first hand experience with Crypti I think it has a much higher chance to grow in the future. It is also much more interesting for me personally.

The Windows/Mac client links you provided are already on Nxt.org. IMO there are no newer versions, if yes then please provide me the real links.

My point is that these links are old and 8 versions out of date.

The links are always in the release thread.

"Provide" you with a new link?

Nxt.org will still be maintained! I have a list with things, which still needs to be done. I will also update the download links immediately, so you don't have to be worried about that. :)

How hard is it exactly to go to announcements and copy the link in the most recent thread?

https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-4-16/

PS: I've gone over this post a few times to put it in the nicest way possible, but I really can't think of a way to make "is it that hard?" any nicer.

There are no links in the release thread for the Windows and Mac wrappers. There is only the link for the complicated version, which requires a .bat or .sh file. And this version is mentioned as a Linux version.

The wrappers are maintained by wesley, who always sends me the newest file via PM if there is one. I know he is mainly away, but he always did this for the 1.4.x release. The x-th version will be auto-updated in the client.

If you have a better way to show the different options, then propose it. But I strongly advise against, to use the regular client for the normal user.
