« on: April 19, 2016, 06:06:09 pm »

Node day - lots of questions I have today :D

What do I have to setup in order to be a "full archival node"? Thanks!

nxt.maxPrunableLifetime=-1
nxt.includeExpiredPrunable=true
- I'd like to add:

Insert

Code: [Select]
nxt.includeExpiredPrunable=true
nxt.maxPrunableLifetime=-1

into nxt.properties.

Set an API admin password in nxt-default.properties, like this:

Code: [Select]
nxt.adminPassword=dsfjdsfsd9832edfh098hcwd23
Run NRS and bring up the API UI using <YOUR-HOST-NAME-OR-IP>:7876/test

Scroll down to Debug at the bottom of the UI, select retrievePrunedData and enter the admin password from earlier.  <Wait 10 min>

When you submit the retrievePrunedData API call you should see NRS start to update prunable data by monitoring the log at /logs/nxt.log.

Keep an eye on nxt.log by refreshing until the server updates that there is 0 prunable data left to collect.

My nxt_db has increased to 1.7GB and it took about 5 minutes to retrieve the missing data. I can't remember how big the blockchain was beforehand, but it was over 1.5GB.

Hi. Does this part actually have to be done for it to start retrieving archives, and if so, does it need to be done each time the node is restarted?
