doesnt require large dev team programming in win32/mac/unix/etc/etc.  Just 1 bytecode compiler

Whilst the motto "write once, deploy everywhere" was Sun's *mantra* back when they launched Java it became known more as "write once, debug everywhere" for those *actually writing Java software*.

(as platforms like Android do support Java it does however make it *easier* to use that language)
