Is there a reliable Linux client ?
« on: May 23, 2014, 05:45:06 pm »

I find Windows & Mac clients.
But a friend who's running Linux tells me what he downloaded made his "wine hang"
Now I am not a linux power user, so, the only wine I know of would look weird if hung... ;)

So... Whatever that means... Is there a reliable client I should suggest ?

Besides NRS itself, in Linux you can use Offspring and there's also ClieNxt and FreeRider.

I use NRS on Ubuntu Linux, just unzip NRS in the home folder, open a terminal and digit 'cd /home/<username>/nxt', then './run.sh' and ctrl+c if you want to close

FreeRider is tools platform, that can also be used to send money and look at the asset exchange.
I have not been able to turn it into a streamlined and beginner friendly app yet, but if it is someone who knows python, that might be a good thing...
If you try and have questions, Maybe I can help.

Offspring is developed on Ubuntu (since I'm on Ubuntu  ;) ) it uses Eclipse SWT controls to achieve it's native Gnome look (as well as a native Windows and Mac look).
