I'm in the process of running this right now. I noticed that during the install process, my computer "installed Java." Does that mean that it overrode my version 8.25 with version 7? Or did it just install 7 in a new location?

Right now the NXT client is "CREAT(ING) UNIQUE INDEX IF NOT EXISTS." I think I've seen this before and it can take a while. Looking forward to having something that works.

Upgrading from 1.3.5 worked fine for me.
I noticed an undocumented change in the API, TransactionIndex is now a property of the transaction json replies.
Thank you. The wiki API documentation is now updated to include transactionIndex. It orders transactions within a block. The order is determined as follows (according to the change log):

Quote
After the Monetary System block, the order in which transactions in a block are executed will be determined by the block forger, instead of by id, default being by arrival time at the forger's node.

Hmm, I'm using an install script that checks the version of java that is installed, if its less than 1.7 then it should download java. Maybe someone can take a look at the script and see if there is a logical error;

(But to answer your question, I believe you will just have both installed).

That makes sense considering v. 7 of Java is hard coded into the new wallet. What is the path of the new Java install? I need to know this in case I need to modify any other run.bat files. Thanks.

Should be c:/program files/Java/JRE7 or similar.

Should be c:/program files/Java/JRE7 or similar.

I see it. I have a folder for JRE7 and one for the 8.025 version, so that looks OK. The wallet program is still creating various indexes--things like currency name, buy offer height, etc.. Is it normal for this to take a long time?

"I suggest you download the software from this forum here (top of the page, written in blue). "
In this NXT map I double click run.batch file,

Need to  extract all not just the run.batch file
so click on  nxt-client-1.4.5. and  extract all to  an  empty folder

Thta's exactly what I did. But extracting doesn't bring anything. Now I tried same process on another pc and double click run.batch brings up a dos-window running. Opening my browser and selecting http://localhost 7876 brings again white page.

This whole story has me busy over 24 hours now.
I am going to download http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/ again, get my 2000+unity, 2000 PANGEA and NXT out of the wallet to exchanges and come back here in a month to see how things work.

Or is this NOT going to work either because of NRS?
[/quote]

You can always just use the trade.secureae.com wallet. It is geared towards the AE, but also allows simple sends as well.

I certainly could make a windows installer for this using WIX and install the server as a service and have it create a shortcut in start menu/screen. But, I'm not sure if the demand or trust is there. However, it seems like there is demand.

During the upgrade NRS on one of my nodes NRS downloaded the blockchain in 719 block chunks, but it wasn't a problem.  Did yours get stuck after the first 719 blocks?

For now ... to speed things up you may download and unzip the blockchain from here:
https://www.forgenxt.com/blockchain/nxt_db-1.4.5.zip

... about ~314MB

In few weeks, we'll have a Windows/Mac/Linux installer integrated into the core. If you are interested in testing PM me.
