Bid order id 16544282690990362846 - 100 @ 125 nxt

Order executed at 100 nxt.

Bid was added first, 14 minutes before the ASK.
But even if they were submitted in reverse order, it should have given a different price, as there were plenty orders available above 100, that should have been filled before it!

Even with that offline setting true, after a day or so my offline blockchain expires and the client no longer allows me to generate offline transactions. It says please wait untill the blockchain is up to date or something similar.
It would be great if that were fixed.
Also, keeping in mind that every transaction (or maybe just some transactions) contains the id and height of the last known block, this hurts both anonymity and the blockchain size. And since vapor wallet proves this value is not really needed to generate transactions altogether, is it possible just to scrap this? Lets say something like... drop column ecBlockHeight, ecBlockId?

Thanks for your hard work, Jean-Luc, and every other core developer.

The ecBlockId and ecBlockHeight fields are part of the Economic Clustering and will be used in the future. No intention to drop them. Applications that ignore them will need to be fixed in the future, and don't say I didn't warn you.

Could you please elaborate a bit more?

Do you mean that vapor wallet will become useless over time?

Also, why does the client block you from generating offline transactions when the offline blockchain is older than XXX blocks???

Is that not an error?

I found info on economic clustering https://nxtforum.org/news-and-announcements/economic-clustering, will take me a while to understand this it seems, thanks for the explanation.

Still, would it not be good idea to automatically scrap this for people doing offline transactions... ecBlockHeight is null when isOffline is true, together with the removal of please wait till the blockchain is up to date for offline usage?

Hi, I want to make a suggestion for Nxt Client UI.

Could we please get a warning when making a big buy order that end up using all the nxt and the left over isn't enough for any more transactions.

I always end up doing this and have not enough nxt for cancelling my orders when the market moves and I need some nxt.

 :) :) :)

It takes forever for the java program to get to the point where I can open my wallet. Is this a first time thing? Or is it always going to take a long time?

When you upgrade from a previous version, 1.3 to 1.4, for example the database upgrade takes a long time (30 minutes is reasonable).
If it does not finish you may have to increase the Java memory settings.
Post your nxt.log if you still have problems.

first time thing. Subsequent starts take only a few seconds (if you do not start your client for some time, it will have to download more missing blocks).

I fully deleted the Nxt directory, and took the nxt_db from an older version.

Now it does something, changing the Db and Creating new Table... Thanks  :)

For the first time I used the advanced tab to add a note to myself when I made a transaction. But it seems the note cannot be read:

I couldn't reproduce this in 1.4.16. What happens if you use the readMessage API from http://localhost:7876/test?requestTag=MESSAGES ? If you can read the note from there, must be a client UI bug.

Sorry Jean-Luc I'm too technically-challenged to understand how that API works (what is a nonce?), but I found something interesting: if at login I select "Remember passphrase during session" I get the error above, but if I skip it and I write the passphrase only when requested in the transaction details then the note is decrypted normally. I suppose this is a UI bug.

The ecBlockId and ecBlockHeight fields are part of the Economic Clustering and will be used in the future. No intention to drop them. Applications that ignore them will need to be fixed in the future, and don't say I didn't warn you.

For the time being, I tend to just zero out ecBlockId and ecBlockHeight for the transactions I make as they aren't needed at the moment and are difficult/impossible to gather in some cases, (offline wallets).

But as I recall ecBlockId/height will be used to decide which chain has the majority of economic activity on it.
For this is it necessary to require a blockHeight and Id for every single transaction?

As long as we can detect which fork the big players are on, it should be enough, so any small fish can safely ignore it.
(Even if it is a requirement, I will most likely need to use fake/incorrect data for services such as vapor that work completely offline and cannot do a lookup of an nxt chain to find a block height or id)

I have just written a step-by-step guide: https://nxtforum.org/nxt-helpdesk/download-the-blockchain-from-peerexplorer-com/

If you do not want to download the blockchain from external source, skip 3 and 4

In case it does not work, please post what the terminal says

There was fix in 1.4.17 that fixed a critical bug in 1.4.16. Someone is still trying to exploit the bug in the stragglers that haven't updated.

Update to 1.4.17 NOW, to support the network.
