NRS v1.3.5
« on: December 14, 2014, 08:14:51 pm »

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

Release 1.3.5

https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt/downloads/nxt-client-1.3.5.zip

sha256:

53ae6b17052024e7f1b8d1eba898f4e67f7f4ccf5dc80a6edc89aded826c9a76  nxt-client-1.3.5.zip

Change log:

Added getDGSTagCount API, allow getDGSGoodsCount and getDGSPurchaseCount to be
used also to get total goods or purchase counts.

Added completed parameter to getDGSGoodsPurchases, getDGSGoodsPurchaseCount,
getDGSPurchaseCount, getDGSPurchases, to allow querying for completed purchases
only. Added withPublicFeedbacksOnly parameter to getDGSPurchaseCount.

Secondary sort of search results after sorting by relevance, by timestamp if
for any seller, or by name and then by timestamp if for a single seller.

Improved performance of Marketplace page, show counts for goods in stock only.

Increased default purchase delivery deadline to 168 hours (1 week).

Include full peer info in getPeers API if includePeerInfo=true, to avoid having
to do a separate getPeer request for each peer.

Include cumulativeDifficulty in the block JSON.

Allow transaction signing in signTransaction to skip the validation of the
transaction bytes being signed, if an optional validate=false parameter is added.
This would be useful when signing transaction bytes on a machine that doesn't have
the full blockchain downloaded, which normally prevents validation.

Allow sending messages with no recipient.

Automatically blacklist peers with version older than 1.2.0.

UI improvements of the API /test page.

Changed nxt-default.properties to enable MVCC by default, to avoid database lock
timeout errors.

Updated jetty to version 9.2.6. If unpacking on top of a previous installation,
delete your lib directory first to remove the old jetty libraries.

"Include full peer info in getPeers API if includePeerInfo=true, to avoid having
to do a separate getPeer request for each peer."

What does it mean exactly? The (1.3.5) client download full info within the blockchain an there is no more requests about/to another peers, or ... ?

In any case, thanks for the new version, J-L (and ChuckOne, and the others excellent devs) !

Thanks for all your hard work Jean Luc :)

Is public id optional again?

If not yet, when do you estimate this will return?

Got some coins to send out. ;)

Just means if you call the api you dont have to make those calls getpeers and getpeer. You can go directly with getPeers&includePeerInfo=true and get all the info already.

Maybe your lucene index got corrupted or missing. Try doing a luceneReindex, from the /test page under Debug. Need to have nxt.enableDebugAPI=true for the Debug menu to show up.

Allow sending messages with no recipient.
These transactions will be included in Blockchain?
Yes, those are normal transactions. It is to be used for arbitrary messages that are really public announcements and don't have a single intended recipient. Currently some people are using Genesis as recipient presumably for such purpose, but this will be disallowed after 1.4, just like other transactions with Genesis recipient have been changed to use null recipient.

Is public id optional again?
No, that will happen after 1.4 is released, same block when MS is enabled.

Thank you.

A question: Is there a way to release an update that does not require a fresh download of the entire blockchain? As it is, with the blockchain being just a little over a year old, it takes at least an hour to download the whole thing. When NXT has been around for several years it will take even longer. Not sure if this is technically feasible, but it sure would be nice if it could be done.

I just updated from 1.3.4 to 1.3.5 and it didn't download the blockchain.  Are you deleting the nxt_db directory when you update or are you updating from a release before 1.3.4?  There have been a couple of updates which required a database rescan because internal structures had changed, but that doesn't download the blockchain from the network.  It just rebuilds database tables using the existing blocks.

I downloaded the new version, extracted it, and then ran it. When I opened my wallet, it told me it was downloading the block chain. I did not delete anything prior to running, but I did put it in a different folder, so maybe that's why it's downloading everything. I guess I should have moved the db file over first. I'll try to remember that next time. thanks.
