Move blockchain location
« on: July 20, 2014, 03:01:18 pm »

Good afternoon all,

Is it possible to change the location of the blockchain repository for NXT / NRS? Currently running NXT 1.2.2 and NRS 1.1.5 and my SSD is quite small and running out of space. OS is Windows 7 32bit

Many thanks

Hey KingCole,

look in /conf/nxt-default.properties.

In the #### DATABASE #### section, you will find by default

Code: [Select]
# The nxt_db folder is expected to be in the current working directory, will be created if missing.
nxt.dbUrl=jdbc:h2:nxt_db/nxt;DB_CLOSE_ON_EXIT=FALSE

If you change the value, for instance, to

Code: [Select]
nxt.dbUrl=jdbc:h2:D:/nxt_db/nxt;DB_CLOSE_ON_EXIT=FALSE
NRS will create the database folder in D:/nxt_db.

You can also leave nxt-default properties with default values, and create a user properties file called "nxt.properties" in the same /conf folder. Any values in nxt.properties will override defaults in nxt-default.properties, so a nxt.properties file defining nxt.dbUrl will work the same as the previous edit.

Hope this helps.

../..

Hope this helps.

Good job! On my GNU/Linux system, I could be able to move the nxt_db/ directory to /var/lib/

Thanks again for the tip.
