Title: NxtReporting.com - The Nxt Asset Exchange Portfolio Manager
Post by: cc001 on June 06, 2014, 07:22:04 am
Hi Nxt-People
The Nxt ecosystem has a shiny brandnew service: NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com) is a beautiful, easy to use web service. Its main purpose is to track the profitability of your complete Nxt Asset Exchange Portfolio. Yes, exactly: For every asset you possess, you can see if you made a profit or a loss with it. You can track exactly when you bought how much of it, when you sold it and what were the best trades. Additionally, it works as a complete blockbrowser with graphs of the last trades and a lot of info. And all of that by simply entering your account number. No registering, no login needed, for free!

=How can you help to further improve NxtReporting.com and increase the overall value of Nxt=
* test, use, and enjoy NxtReporting: go to NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com), enter your Nxt account number, have fun.
* spread the word about NxtReporting: tweet about it, retweet about it, blog about it, post about it, tell your friends, neighbors and grand parents about it.
* Give feedback to us: possible improvements, feature requests, bug reports. Every feedback is appreciated!

=How we want to further improve NxtReporting.com=
* we will continue implementing new features, showing additional information, make nicer and more graphs
* fixing bugs and adding improvements, based on your feedback

NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com) was created by Dario and me. Dario is the developer of CoinReporting.com (http://CoinReporting.com), a nice service to track your cryptocurrency portfolio. And me, I am just a simple Nxt enthusiast, who wants Nxt to rule the world :)

TL;DR
Checkout NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com), the Nxt Asset Exchange Portfolio Manager with Profitability Tracking. Use it, enjoy it, spread the word about it and give feedback how we can further improve it.

Enjoy Nxt!

You can create links like this http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=3006420581923704757

that works right now for accounts, assetids, and transactionids.

Can you add a checkbox to My Assets, Assets I had but don't have them anymore (Your amount = 0) so it wont calculate them into Profits/Loss ?

Thanks!

Hmm, I'm not sure how you would do it, but some assets can be bought for BTC and then the issuer just transfers it to you.  So even though you paid for the asset, it shows up an pure profit on your site.  If someone could manually enter a value, that may help.  Again, though, I'm not 100% sure how to handle that.
Great looking website though!!  And it's great to have an easy way to see what you bought your assets for too.  I've been wondering about that.

hm, that will be difficult to handle, I think it is impossible without using a user-/account-system. But thanks for that idea, is a valid point.

Thanks, credits go mainly to Dario :)

UPDATE:

Dario is a Coding-Machine!
Have a look at the details page of an asset, for example BitHaus http://nxtreporting.com/?a=13926712251908664867 (http://nxtreporting.com/?a=13926712251908664867)

We have brand-new interactive graphs!
It includes all trades
It includes volumes
It can be zoomed (mark it with the mouse)

Very impressive!

One thing I've noticed is that in the My Assets panel, sometimes the value of the asset is the Sell price, and sometimes the Buy price. (Ref: Account #15708825649894382541)

Right now I am looking at NxtAT. It lists a Price per Asset of 0.0149. When I go to the NxtAT page in the web wallet Asset Exchange, the lowest Sell price is 0.0149, and the highest Buy price is 0.01102. So for NxtAT you are listing the Sell price.

When I look at NxtStore, you have a Price per Asset of 11.00. The Asset Exchange has a lowest Sell price of 17 and a highest Buy price of 11. Here you are displaying the Buy price.

So you see, for some assets, you select the lowest Sell price, and for others you show the highest Buy price.

I think for My Assets, you should list the highest Buy price, since that is the Nxt liquidation value of the asset that I hold.

Thanks for your analysis, but the "Price" is the price of the last trade that happened. Not a buy or sell offer, it's coincidence that they are the same. We do that because only the trades are the real values, offers mean nothing, they can be cheated...

Btw: NxtReporting contains some Scam-Protection. When you search for an asset name and there are multiple assets with that name, a warning is shown and all found assets are listed.
See an example here http://nxtreporting.com/?a=xdfb (http://nxtreporting.com/?a=xdfb)

You're right, they can be manipulated. So can actual trades, too. A single person with two accounts can buy-and-sell to himself a tiny amount at a very low or very high price, depending upon where they want to move the market, right? Of course, they can only move it within the buy-sell spread. Is it true that in general the last trade price is considered a better indicator of asset price?

(I am not arguing. I think you both know a lot more about this stuff than I do. Just asking for clarification.)

I think so, the sites I know show the last trade prices in the candlestick diagrams. That is the current market price

Just noticed something else.

Look at my account (15708825649894382541) again, specifically, My Asset Transactions, and you may see an entry for a Sell that never took place. It shows a SELL for NEMstake on 30.5.2014. This was actually an ASK that was never executed, and was later cancelled.

Well, a SELL is an ASK... You ask for money, you sell an asset ;) And the "Ask Cancel" at the top canceled that and the calculations should be correct, there is no profit calculated for that sell. But you are right, we will have a look at it, why it is not marked as cancelled. Thanks for the report

Yes, I understood the math, and saw that the account was correct. It's just that the label "SELL" is misleading.

How can we handel this under "My Assets"?

Just don't show and calculate Assets which you own 0? Or just give the user a checkbox if he would like to?

The loss I had was only 3750 because of buy and sell with a small loss, but it shows -13750.

The more I play around with this, the more impressed I am. This is a powerful information/analysis aggregator for Nxt assets. I love it!

One small bug? From the All Assets list, I click the + to expand the entry for NxtStore. It expands, and I click the Asset ID, 16270557355399457163. The page that opens has no data in the top three tables. It just says "No data available in table." It's the first time I've seen it do that for an Asset ID I have clicked on.

This is an excellent work! I thank you.  :)

Just an an idea: In the All Assets list, do you think it would be convenient to have a number (rank) in front of each asset? It could be easier to find back an asset you want to look at.

Three ideas for nxtreporting:

"Order book" for an asset.
"My trades" showing all asset trades for an account or alternatively a quick way to filter "My Asset Exchange Transactions" so that only buys and sells are shown.
"My open orders" or alternatively a quick way to filter "My Asset Exchange Transactions" to only open orders.

Thanks for that report, yes it is a bug. The reason for this, there exists an account and an asset with the same id 16270557355399457163. Search for that number here: http://nxtexplorer.com/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=1 (http://nxtexplorer.com/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=1). We'll have a look at it.

Yep, we are working on something like that.

"My open orders" or alternatively a quick way to filter "My Asset Exchange Transactions" to only open orders.
Thanks, we'll think about that one. What you can do right now is sorting that column, so all transactions from the same category are together.

I have a feature request:

Multiple account aggregated data.

Some users have multiple accounts, and assets in those various accounts. What if a user could enter all of his/her account numbers and see the total amount of NXT, all transactions, and all assets displayed on one page? (Not sure what the input interface would look like. For now, we can just submit a comma-delimited string of account numbers into the text box. You would have to do some error handling in case transaction ids and asset ids were entered as part of the string.)

I think the display might get messy when looking at transactions, but would not affect the appearance of the My Assets table at all. So maybe the My Transactions table should be multiple tables? I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm not as interested in seeing all those transactions, but I am very interested in using NxtReporting as an account ledger for all NXT and all Assets in my possession. I want to see my entire Nxt portfolio on one page.

What do you think? Is it something you could do for the assets, at least?

Are you making some back-end code changes? I am getting some very strange results. For example, my account balance is off by ~50'000 NXT, even though all the transactions seem to be correct. Also, the My Assets panel displays all of my 10 assets correctly, but the yellow "Assets Owned" square at the top of the page says "0 Assets." It does, however, display the correct value in NXT.

Edit: Prior to this, I had received an erroneous error. It said that my account did not exist.

Edit2: I have just refreshed, and all the data now looks correct.

Hey NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com) users

A BIG UPDATE went online, check it out! It has the following new features:

* ASSET MARKET CAP: Market capitalisation of all assets. At the top of the list you have a Dropdown to select how the total maket cap should be calculated. You can exclude there for example the stack of the asset issuer to find out how much assets are in circulation right now.
* SHAREHOLDER LIST: Select an asset and get a list of all accounts that posses this asset. The same list is also visible on the Asset-detail-page. Thats for example useful when you want to pay dividens or if you want to find out between how many accounts your asset is distributed. Or are you just curious who is full of LOVE? Check  http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=12358227497921853690 (http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=12358227497921853690)
* Zoomable nice interactive graphs on the asset page that includes all trades with prices and volumes.

Some minor improvements:
* New breadcrumb navigation
* Nice little icons (from the ideenfische styleguide)
* Improved profitability tracking
* Other visual and functional improvements

And we're not finished yet. Stay tuned for the next update.

Post and twitter about NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com), show it to your friends and investors, spam the social media!

Enjoy Nxt!

The price of the owned asset is based on the "Buy Orders" in the wallet and in the NxtReporting.com is based on last trade.

Shouldn't it be the same everywhere?

We had a discussion about that, internally, and decided to use the last trade as price. There are pros and cons. Generally, on similar services often the last trade is used. Trades are the real thing that happened, so they can be used to value something. Buy and sell offers are only "virtual", they can be used (are used, actually) to manipulate the market prices.

Yes, I think that the last trade as a price should be in the wallet too.

* New breadcrumb navigation
* Nice little icons (from the ideenfische styleguide)
* Improved profitability tracking
* Other visual and functional improvements

And we're not finished yet. Stay tuned for the next update.

Post and twitter about NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com), show it to your friends and investors, spam the social media!

Enjoy Nxt!

It's very good step forward.
keep up the good job and thank you.

Bug report:

Not sure if you aware or someone has highlighted this. In the orderbook chart, i noticed the quantity of bid and ask price are different as in showing cummulative numbers. For example bid price for a particular asset is 10.5nxt for 100 assets. However when you hover the mouse over it, it is showing total quantity instead of specific quantity for the specific price.

Well, that is not a bug, that's how orderbooks are presented. It shows you for example to what the price will rise when you want to buy a specific number of assets.

I have proposal for "shareholders" section:

Is it possible to make shareholders list at the exact date and exact time? I think it would be useful in calculating dividends or having shareholders list at some special time.

UPDATE

We just got again some nice updates:

* Check the bottom of the asset market cap: http://nxtreporting.com/assetcap.php (http://nxtreporting.com/assetcap.php) we just got some totals over all assets: Let's check some numbers: We have a total market cap over all assets (not including the issuer account) of 26 million USD. That would place the Asset Exchange directly on place 8 on coinmarketcap.com!! Another value: A total trading volume over the last month of 1.7 million USD, on the asset exchange. Very promising!

* If an id is searched for, it shows now a message when there exist accounts and assets and transactions with the same id (that is rare, but happens) see http://nxtreporting.com/?a=12465186738101000735&c=USD (http://nxtreporting.com/?a=12465186738101000735&c=USD) for an example.

* The issuer account and the genesis account got a special mark in the shareholder list. Check Bithaus (http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=Bithaus+%2813926712251908664867%29&show_qnt=) and LOVE (http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=LOVE+%2812358227497921853690%29&show_qnt=)

* Check the genesis account :) http://nxtreporting.com/?ac=1739068987193023818 (http://nxtreporting.com/?ac=1739068987193023818)

Amazing work really. Blows me away.
The big numbers are a bit tough to read. Not sure ... maybe they could be shown in "thousands" or maybe the last zero's could be grayed or so.
Lame critique - wish I could criticize more... but can't find anything. :D
... oh wait - instead of Quantity it say's Ouantity on the Market Capitalization. Fail! ;)

Really great work! I've used the tool for some days to monitor my account and there are a lot of valuable information, especially with regard to asset holdings.

There is one observation that I would like to indicate (my account: NXT-BL9Q-B6W2-MK67-7XW6Z):

I placed an asset order of 40 bithaus shares for 26 nxt each. First I got 3 shares on 14/06/16. I can see this in the section "My Asset Exchange Transactions". The remaining 37 shares I got on 14/06/22, but they don't appear in this section. In the section "My Assets" the listing is correct, I see 40 shares there. But the profit/loss column lists only the profit/loss of the first 3 shares, so there is a mismatch between this two listings.

Would be great if you could have a look at this.

Hi  ;D

Can you make it so when an asset is transferred in, it has an "@ trade" price of whatever it was the transfer took place? Otherwise, it is 0 Nxt and I would have to take a 100% loss and even then it wouldn't show I was losing money in the "profit column"   :D

And could you make the text of the "NXT Reporting >> Account: 0000000...." line near the top of the screen larger? I had to look around a little to find the account I was in

Thanks

Hm, I don't think that would be correct. a "Transfer In" is like you got it for free (Trades are marked as "Buy" or "Sell". No trade happened, somebody just sent it to you, for free. So, the price IS actually 0, and you make always profit when you sell it no matter at what price. It's like somebody gives you a car for free and you sell it for 1$. You still made 1$ profit because you didn't buy anything for it.

And could you make the text of the "NXT Reporting >> Account: 0000000...." line near the top of the screen larger? I had to look around a little to find the account I was in
Yep, we'll do that.

I see what you mean...

My problem it was a transfer in kind for an exchange that isn't linked to the asset (like it would be if done through the AE). It was a trusted exchange between two long standing Nxters ;D so I sent the Nxt first with the transaction ID and then they sent the Asset. So I did pay for it, just not though not through AE. Not sure, can you do anything with this scenario?

Great news about the bigger text  ;D

Yep, I know exactly what you mean, but I'm afraid it is not solvable right now. You would need some kind of account where you could link some transactions, or tell the system that a specific transfer was not for free, but costed some NXT. But maybe... sometimes in the future... when we get enough donations...  ;) we'll see

Well, the "Total Balance" is simply "Account Balance" + "Assets owned". Because you don't own the asset yet, the "Total Balance" must be the one that shocked you... When you put an order, this money is reserved, and subtracted from your balance. That is how the Nxt Server works, we just show that value in NxtReporting.com.
What we can do is thinking about adding another Category, called "NXT reserved in open orders".
Does that answer your question/report ?

yeah exactly. i just want to see how much nxt i own all together including bought assets and open orders. so if the category is added and it's value is added to the total balance it would be PERFECT! THX. I can imagine that later many people have some pending orders and wanna know how much they have altogether without making dozens of clicks.

i have to thank YOU ;D Also it might be confusing with the open SELL orders. One would still have to calculate the actual price into the total balance and not the one you want to sell it for. Very confusing but I believe in you!!!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Hey NxtReporting.com people, guess what we get... some great statistics and graphs! Check out NxtReporting.com/stats.php (http://NxtReporting.com/stats.php), I attached some screenshots.

We will add new statistics and graphs to this page with time coming, let us know what you would like to see on it

Right now the page contains:
* Price chart, showing the price of NXT in BTC, USD and other Fiat over time.
* Total number of trades and trade volumes per day
* Number of trades and trade volumes per asset
* Comparison of the asset market cap to the total Nxt market cap

Reminder: most of the graphs are zoomable by mouse.

Yep, we'll do that.

Hi people
Unfortunately NxtReporing.com is experiencing some problems right now. It is stuck for about 24h now, that means that recent transactions/assets/trades are not shown correctly.
We know about that issue and are working on a fix. We'll keep you updated.
Apologies for any inconveniences and thanks for your patience.

Is fixed now. Everything should be up-to-date and running smoothly.
We'll implement something to prevent such issues in the future.
Apologies for any inconveniences and thanks for your patience.

Posted this in the UKGOVLOTTO forum. It probably belongs here:

nxtreporting is stuck right now, sorry, we're working on it
thx for the report

Now nxtreporting.com does not recognize my account number, and it does not do a complete reset of the display screen.

(I'm not complaining or trying to annoy you. I'm providing info in case it helps you to debug.)

Should be fixed, the blockchain was stuck.
Your asset: http://nxtreporting.com/?as=3198266591626379729
A more detailed report can be found here: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=2175.msg59703#msg59703
Apologies for any inconveniences.

Almost fixed.
In My Asset Exchange Transactions, the Asset Quantity of UKGOVLOTTO is off by a factor of 10. The Total Price in Nxt and Profit numbers are also off by a factor of 10.

In My Assets section, everything is correct except the Profit amount, which is off by a factor of 10.

See the PM I sent you with my account number if you want to see what I am seeing.

Hey NxtReporting.com user

What would you like to see on NxtReporting.com (http://NxtReporting.com)?. What feature or improvement should we add? We still have some nice ideas we will implement, but we would like to hear some opinions from you. So, what needs to be added to NxtReporting to make it even more useful for you?

Or what is the most important feature/info right now on NxtReporting.com for you? What keeps you coming back?

Does your site use cookies? Maybe a 'recent accounts' tab somewhere that shows you the accounts you looked at last time, that also displays the account name (if it has one)?

First, I love the design. My favorite feature is the "total balance" block.

One weird thing, the "shareholder"  button shows up on mobile devices but not PC. Is that by design? (Ubuntu 14.04/Chrome)

In the assets list it would be nice to have a % Change column, similar to the one at coinmarketcap. Not sure about 24 hours period... maybe a customisable time span would be possible.

Thanks for the great site!

I would like to be able to tag addresses.
Seeing right now for example that bluemeanie is selling his NxtVenture. Would be easier to follow his actions by tagging all his addresses - at the moment I have to remember that it's NXT-WEC8-EV23-6U2M-2EHLP (http://www.nxtreporting.com/?a=NXT-WEC8-EV23-6U2M-2EHLP&c=USD) for example.

Assume this would need a login for now.
Would be cool if in the future there could be some public tags - maybe aggregated from user tags. So that such addresses are automatically named. Or so.

Private tagging sounds like a nice feature, we'll think about that.
I don't like the idea of public tags. I think you wouldn't be very happy if I tag bluemeanies account with "ThomasVeil" and this would be publicly view-able, would you?
And I think you wouldn't be very happy if I tag your account with "scam", right? ;)

Heh, yeah, that second part was just a brain storm thing. Not really thought through... just maybe spark ideas in the direction.
Like there is already named accounts - so some people don't mind public names.

I noticed, now that I have finally sold some assets that the Gain/Loss amount of the asset includes assets you no longer own in the calculation.

What is the thinking on this?

Is it possible to only show gain/loss on currently help assets (maybe with a sub heading of lifetime gain/loss like it shows now)? Or possible with a switch somewhere to chose to include divested assets?

I also have another small suggestion. If you make the color of the FORGED balance something other than green. Perhaps a complementary blue to the balance box.

Then for the Asset Profit/Loss box it could be green for a gain and red if a loss rather than always being red.

The Asset balance and Share holders is not reflecting the right number. This is for ORA. i dont know about others.

From Nxtblocks.info

https://nxtblocks.info/#section/accountId/NXT-7FPB-3K2S-M9FL-ARP4G

The asset balance is showing as 792,500,550 which is correct.

From Nxtreporting

http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=16194910134118257692&show_qnt=

The same asset balance is showing as 794,000,554 which is not correct.

If you open the asset in the Nxtreporting you will see the balance is 792,500,550 which is correct.

http://nxtreporting.com/?ac=9730791208153953961

Even individual asset holdings are wrong from a few i checked including mine.

I dont know if it is only me or others also having the same problem.

I assume the site is down?!

Getting read in error: "No Account, Asset or Transaction matches your search: NXT-XXXX-XXX

This error shows for all accounts entered on my side.

@cc001, any news about why the site is down for several days now? Thanks.

The downtime happen because of blockchain re-scans of the client and because the calculation of the shareholder lists needs a lot of cpu power.
Dario will be back next week, we'll discuss then how to go on with nxtreporting and how to prevent such downtime in the future.

NxtReporting.com is such a great offering and I hope the NXT dev funds provide part/all of the costs....would hate not to have this service.

Can nxtreporting be made decentralized?
Integrated into NRS ui as MGWlite?

it's so comfortable and useful, that its a crime to have only one point of access.  :'(
I think each node should have an ability to integrate such great tool.

nxtreporting.com is up and running again, but the calculation of the shareholder list has been deactivated, due to heavy cpu load. We'll try to find a solution to reactivate it. All other calculations, graphs and statistics should be accurate.

You should release an asset for nxtreporting.com. For fundraising and growth. No dividends needed.

Why that over just getting donations.

That said, I think some of the community funds should be used here. This is a great resource for the NXT community and NXT adoption.

Or, they need to monetize it with some ads.

Perhaps. But, I like that it is a web site. It lets me see what's going on with my ID without needing access to my wallet. So, even if some of this does get put into the wallet, I hope this site remains as well.

Thanks a lot for the support.

We'll think about how we can improve the service and its reliability.

What kind of asset do you think would be appropriate? Or maybe we should sell some kind of Product on the Marketplace?

i'd buy an asset that offered me non voting shares in the project. I don't want dividends, nor do I expect them, but I'd like to know that you have some responsibilities to share holders, and if a way to monetize it came up, our investment could appreciate.

I think anyone should be able to deploy a nxtreporting site as simple as running a node.
Decentralize nxtreporting, please!
I'd donate up to 50K for this. Or i'd buy an asset ;)

Been asking that for a long time !  ;D

My profits/losses aren't calculated correctly again. Some assets show 0.000 Profit although it's wrong.

I think I have figured it out. Everytime I transfer an asset to another account some of my filled buy orders are messed up. They show closed 0/0 although I simply have bought an asset.

A fix would be really great!

Not sure if it was mentioned - but there is some error in the order execution calculation.
If I sell for 10, but there is a buy order for 20, then I get the 20. Right now, nxtreporting shows 10 as result.

Since I'm at it:
- I generally would prefer if all the comma values would go. They're not useful and clutter the view.
Maybe optional would be better, or if need be: Smaller and grayed out. Then it would be easier to distinguish the important part.
- All numerical account mentions should go. That would again remove clutter, and make it all consistent.
- In the asset view, the asset quantity should take burned assets into account. That can make huge differences.
- I don't find the bid/ask id's awfully useful in the asset views. Rather show which account put them. If necessary leave the bid/ask id's small beneath it.
- I'm agreeing on the "balance should include open orders" comments

Still love the site though :D

10. It will always sell to the open orders in the book. So you will get the best deal possible when executing.
Though there was something odd about the way in which it goes through the open orders... can't put it together anymore, just remember sometimes it wouldn't fill the full order how I expected it to.

Update:
* We added the possibility to show only specific groups on the Market Cap page. Right now there is only one group "jl777 Assets" containing all the major assets of jl777 accessible directly here: http://nxtreporting.com/assetcap.php?cap=no-issuer&f=jl777-Assets (http://nxtreporting.com/assetcap.php?cap=no-issuer&f=jl777-Assets). More groups will follow. Let us know what group (including which assets) you would like to see.
* Significant faster page load, especially on the asset details pages of heavily traded assets.
* Small design changes (nxt-blue on the front page, maybe you need to reload the browser using Shift+F5)

Note: The asset-shareholder-list will be reactivated shorty after NRS 1.3 has been released.

I had the same problem but it seems ok right now, just checked. But I have a question concering the "profit" calculation. E.g. I have 150 Coinomat1 at the moment. Profit is shown as 8993.0000 NXT. Nice profit for 150 shares ;-). Of course this profit (I guess) is related to amounts of Coinomat1 that I had but which are already sold. Feature or bug :-)?

Yes I sold some shares a few weeks ago. So the column "profit" is showing a kind of "all time profit" for the shares? Is this also the case for the "total balance"? I thought it is representing the NAV of my current holdings...

Acc. is NXT-BL9Q-B6W2-MK67-7XW6Z

Done. The "Account Balance" at the very top left contains now also the open orders. No need for your head anymore ;)

Not sure how total asset value is calculated anymore, but it seems to be confounding some values so that some assets sold count towards both the portfolio and the account balance. I think the appropriate method is as follows:

- Find the total number of assets owned, which is the sum of those bought and transferred in minus those sold and transferred out
- Find the value of those assets at today's price, this is the portfolio value
- Find the cost of each bought asset at time of trade and subtract from the portfolio value, this is the profit

With this method and the account listed in my signature, I should get a portfolio value of around 26k and a profit of 5.5k, not 35k and 34k, respectively. Is this a correct assessment? Not sure if you're using that method and there's an issue or you're using a different method, but it just appears something is off.

It's not the transfer out, it's the purchase of it. If you add up all of my purchases, it amounts to 20.8k, but my asset value is only worth 26.2k, which should give a profit of 5.4k, not 7.3k (numbers updated since last post)

Yea, I don't think they calculate it that way. (maybe they do)

For example, my supernet shows a profit of 4650 because it doesn't know that the cost bases was TOKEN.

I think they keep going back and forth on displaying assets you no longer own. I'm ok with them showing them, as long as they don't consider the profit/loss of that in the current NXT balance. The current NXT balance should only be the value of my current NXT and my Current assets.

The current NXT balance should only be the value of my current NXT and my Current assets.

Yes, the "Total Balance" only includes your NXT Cash and your assets. Profit is not included. Unfortunately sometime assets are included in "My assets" which are sold already. This gives the wrong "Assets Owned" value. We are trying hard to find a solution (and a reason). Every hint, when and why it happens is very appreciated. If it happens just send me a PM with your account, I can fix it temporarily.

Sorry for the inconveniences!

Assets Owned total is correct for me, it's just the profit which doesn't add up. I think it has to do with the fact that the asset was transferred out.

One other small nit. It looks like you are calculating the value of an asset based on the Ask. This isn't the most correct value of an asset is the value of the Bid, what you could sell it for "right now" (ignoring the depth issue of course).

Details:
* Completely sold/transferred out assets are shown in "My Assets" with the quantity 0, because its profit is still used for to total profit calculation. If you want them to be hidden, let us know

OK,

I think we went through this before. Assets you don't have shouldn't be considered for profit loss. when you look at your stock portfolio anywhere, the aren't listed.

So, you are currently showing an "all time" profit loss verses current portfolio profit/loss. Yes, I know that means it would look like I have 100% profit on supernet, since I didn't really buy it, be whatever.

If you want to be more accurate you should have a way for a user to enter cost basis for each asset if the calculated cost bases is wrong. Perhaps store it in localStorage.

Also, can you clarify, is the USD amount in the profit/loss box based on the USD/NXT valuation at time of purchase, or is it strictly taking the NXT amount and calculating the CURRENT USD value on that amount of NXT?

This is not working for me, i can see several assets that i dont own anymore, both in "my assets" and the "profit/loss" sections.
In fact, i can see assets i had buy bids for, that were not fulfilled, and were cancelled by me.

Why would an asset that i never acquired in the first place be shown?

In closing, thanks for this site, its a very helpful instrument

That's cool. But, I think you only need one switch... Hide unowned assets and it should ALSO not consider that asset in the profit/loss. And hiding should be the default.

But, that's just my opinion.

Also, as I said, if you add the ability to add a cost basis, that would help with assets that you didn't pay for, ie transferred to you, to show a correct profit/loss value.

So it lists every asset i have put a bid for, even if i never owned it? A couple of these were never owned, because the buy orders were cancelled.
So they should not be appearing at all, at least in "my assets" section. Obviously they would appear in "AE transactions" as they existed as transactions/

Listing never-owned assets in "my assets" defeats the purpose, does it not?

I think mgwBTC and TOKEN should be excluded from profit calculation. In my situation, I only deposited BTC, got mgwBTC and sold it for NXT, no additionally trade inside AE. TOKEN was exchanged to SuperNET.
I don't know, seems complicated calculations, but maybe here is more clever math guys, who can explain it :)

Really wonderful!  :D

Just need the possibility of not showing assets with 0 quantity (but continue to calculate in profit/loss).

Thank you for hard work!

Really, it is never going to be perfect, if they have to start making special coding for specific assets.

A better answer is to all the user to adjust the cost bases for an asset in their portfolio. It solves the assest transfer issue with is also the mgw issue.

Looks good... but please fix your bugs first! I still am showing a massive loss due to the fact that it uses the entered sale price rather then the actual order fill price. That mixed with supernet/mgwbtc calcuations... My numbers are way off and unusable.

Ah right... explorer is using bid depth isn't it. I really like that since it tells you what you can get if you sell now. If you could add both methods with a toggle that would be amazing!

Anyway, awesome job, the pie graphs are really helpful.

Ever thought about adding a CSV or XML download button so people can suck your data into a spreadsheet?
Counter intuitive but they will play and model and suggest even more improvements to the site as a result I would hope.

can't wait for the next set of improvements :)

UPDATE: 2014/09/22: We will start the shareholder analysis again, as soon the client version 1.3.0 is released!

Due to the high complexity of this analysis and increasing number of transactions, we had to stop the shareholder analysis for now.
We are working on a solution to make this service available for you again.
All shareholder data as of 2014/08/22.

you know what would be really cool..

let users log into your site, send 1 nxt from their  nxt account(s) to link a nxt account to a user on your site(private) and then let users mark transfers out/in with the correct price they actually paid or didnt pay and to mark the cost payed for coins payed for coins moved in  and set the "loss" to zero for items moved out. this way users could track exactly how much they have made and the"profit/loss" box wont always be totally wrong.. im sure there are other things you could do with it.. like link nxt accounts so you can summerize(private) the total for all the accounts you hold instead of having multiple accounts and having to check individually and add up totals etc.. :)

This is what I kept saying when I said, "Let the user enter the cost basis".

There is no need for it to be on the block chain. The info could be stored in localStorage. Of course, that would be unique to the browser. Being able to create a message with the info would be a way to put it on the block chain. I'm not sure how many people would be willing to do this.

I think showing/considering 0 balance assets is not what most people want.  But, they do want profit/loss to be correct.

I think it's an issue of where the info is stored. No need to verify ownership of info on the blockchain, since it will be signed by the account holder's private key if for example, the cost bases into is stored in AMs.

I still seem to have assets that i no longer own under "my assets". Also these seem to be reflecting as 100% loss in the profit/loss calculations.
Any fix for this soon?  :) Its the only real bug ive found so far on nxtreporting. Otherwise the site is perfect. I shall donate as much as i can afford to once this bug is fixed :)

Account to check the bug is in signature.
The listed assets that i don't really own are Token and NXTventure.

For me it looks like everything is correct with your account. We'll hide the assets you don't own any more soon. You didn't buy any NXTventure, so there is no loss/profit from them (check the "Profit" Column in the "My Asset Exchange Transactions" table). The TOKEN you transferred out are registered as loss, but the SuperNet which were transferred in are shown as a gain. Everything looks ok.

It's not a bug, it's simply that the assets you don't own anymore are still listed. We'll change that soon.

Hi, how is "Asset Profit / Loss" calculated?

In involves different calculations. What is your account.
An example: If you buy 100 coinomat assets for 1 NXT each and sell them later for 1.5NXT each, you made +50NXT profit.
Another example. If you bought 100 XYZ assets for 100 NXT each, and they are worth only 10 NXT now, you are on a -9000NXT loss.

Just need the possibility of not showing assets with 0 quantity (but continue to calculate in profit/loss).

can you make a checkbox or filter so it doesnt show assets where your holding is 0?

Hey People

Good news: It's possible now to hide those 0-amount-assets in your account. We've added a settings page where you can define if you want to see those 0-assets in your "My assets " list or not (Set it to "no" if you don't want to see them). The settings page is no yet directly available on the frontpage, but you can find it here: http://nxtreporting.com/settings.php (http://nxtreporting.com/settings.php)

This isn't working, or not working 100%. Once I have made that setting in a specific browser, shouldn't now visiting the site not show the 0 balance assets?

It only seems to work if I go the main page, and search for my account id. If I bookmark the page and then go directly there, ie http://nxtreporting.com/?a=NXT-5ZCV-KNGM-W5QK-HJ8FN&c=USD then I still see the 0 balance assets in the list.

Go to the site, search form my account id, it doesn't display the 0's. Go to the link above 2 seconds later, it shows them.

We'll add there other settings in future updates.

This isn't working, or not working 100%. Once I have made that setting in a specific browser, shouldn't now visiting the site not show the 0 balance assets?

It only seems to work if I go the main page, and search for my account id. If I bookmark the page and then go directly there, ie http://nxtreporting.com/?a=NXT-5ZCV-KNGM-W5QK-HJ8FN&c=USD then I still see the 0 balance assets in the list.

thanks.

hm, works for me. I think the setting is stored in the browser using cookies. In another browser you have to set it again. Or maybe you see a cached site? Did you try Shift+F5 ?

Yes, tried all that. using the same browser doing exactly what I just stated above.

Go to the site, search form my account id, it doesn't display the 0's. Go to the link above 2 seconds later, it shows them.

I had this situation with separate chrome tabs. If in one is opened my account and in other I set "No" in settings, refreshing tab with opened account shows 0 assets. If it is done in one and the same tab, then it works.

Chrome...

same TAB by the way.. not that this matters. This settings should be stored in a cookie or in localStorage which is specific to a domain, not a browser tab.

UPDATE: Nxt version 1.3.0 has been released and our Shareholder Analysis is back online!

Right now, we update the Shareholder data manually every few days.
Once the new client is tested and stable (in approx. 2-3 weeks), we will install it on the NxtReporting server and the Shareholder data will be displayed in real time. Thanks for your patience.

Example: http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=12071612744977229797 (http://nxtreporting.com/shareholder.php?a=12071612744977229797)

I hate to keep bugging you but I was just wondering if you had an ETA on when the bug would be fixed where your transactions are being calculated using the "entered" price value rather then the actual executed price? My numbers are still off because of this. Thanks for the otherwise awesome site!

But I think it's fixable.

I am now in Malaysia for a conference (for the curious ones is this: http://www.issworldtraining.com/ISS_AP/ ) and I see that NX Reporting from here works. From Indonesia, were I live, doesn't. I did check when I was in Indonesia what the problem was, and it seems something that loads at the beginning hit the censorship in Indonesia causing the site not to load. I will download a copy of the page source here, and one in Indonesia (on Telkom Speedy ISP) and check what looks different. The effect, anyways, in Indonesia, is just a white page. Note that it used to work ok, and suddenly stop working, thus it maybe something that has been added to the page lately that is causing the problem.

Is it possible to have a price that discounts past dividends? The calculation could be carried out assuming that the asset is bought the day when the dividend is paid at the price used to draw the plot. A similar feature is used in Yahoo.

Are you rebuilding your DB?  The site appears to be back up but it keeps stating it can't fins my account.

Also, unrelated, I think your process for picking asset stakeholders is broken.  My account has never shown up on a stakeholders list, and for some assets I should be in the top 10.

Bter will never trade again. It should be changed. Besides, the price should be a composite of many sources. Exactly for this reason and also for accuracy.

Our NXT Today Android app uses data from our server app that takes prices from many exchanges and average them... I'm in bed so I can't find the links and URLs, but the server app is even open sourced.

It wasn't. I know we were working on this, not sure if it has been released volume weighted. I'll ask...

Asset profit / loss is about 790 euro
total balance is about 750

Here is some data to examine.

NXT-XRTD-RMZT-B3ZF-CEZRW

The NXT Balance is correct, however,  many but not all assets are off or missing. It is not just an old snapshot, some of the values are short, reflecting a balance that was never in the wallet. (eg.: LOVE - A million were purchased in one transaction from the issuer, but NXTReporting shows 500,000)  Some that are not reflected are new and some are old.

The 'My Asset Exchange Transactions' has the correct 'Asset Quantity' for each of my assets.
The 'My Assets' table is missing one asset and all of the 'Your Amount' numbers are correct but not in the correct row. i.e. not aligned with the correct asset.

Make "show zero values" to "no" by default in settings :) Every time I clear cache I need to go to settings to choose this setting. :)

Multi-source, volume weighted NXT price calculation for starters. You should be using an aggregate, not just one source.
The price we use is volume-weighted.

Hi,

I think that having more power to customize the " My assets " area would be great.

Like there are some assets that I canceled the buy order and they still show up in there with a value of 0.

Or the possibility to ignore assets I redeemed ( like CVF ).

Also a dividend tracking to see the ROI of each asset would be cool but I don't know if that is possible.

Regards,

Arkh

maybe the feature that we could edit something on our own? e.g. removing btc we put in so the profit is calculated correctly. just because i transferred 2 btc to my nxt account doesn't make my profit +2 btc.

maybe kind of a account to log in to edit the things we no are not correct for ourselves.

Thanks for the help weryx, but for me even reloading doesn't work, and I've tried a few browsers.
The account in question is NXT-S8VH-FNMK-P8BF-DKZW5
It shows here that it has a balance of 6772 NXT, but nxtportal reports a balance of 91 318, so something is not correct with nxtreporting...?
Also, it only shows "Calculating User Transactions 246 of 307 (80%)" and seems to be stuck for a really long time...

Which is sad, makes the site permanently unusable for your own account.

With the recent Nxt-client updates, numerous features had been removed. Since this procedure is extremely stupid and Nxt is dying, we will no longer continue our work on NxtReporting.
We regret this decision and thank all users for the past years.
Since the search for accounts, assets and transactions is no longer compatible, these functions had been disabled. Best regards, Dario

Very bad news...

Yeah, I liked it too (and still would like it...) and I don't agree with his "nxt dying"-statement (he removed it, btw...).

the changelog writes:
Quote
The getAccountTransactions and getAccountTransactionIds APIs have been restricted to always return only the non-phased transactions. Those APIs have also been deprecated and will be removed in 1.6. The getBlockchainTransactions API should be used instead, which has the same behavior but returns both phased and non-phased transactions (by default, unless either phasedOnly or nonPhasedOnly parameters is specified). Do not simply replace getAccountTransactions with getBlockchainTransactions in your client code without an understanding of how phased transactions work and without being prepared to handle them correctly.

so, where can I find some info how to handle them correctly, and how to switch from getAccountTransactionIds to getBlockchainTransactions?
Are simple NXT Transfers and asset-related-transactions (bids, asks, etc...) even affected by this prunable-thing ?

I loved that site as well :(

As I loved SAE, nxtblocks, and some others that went.

It's painful to see projects die and I think backwards compatibility should have been respected more :(

On the other hand, even bitcoin went through rough times dropping 90% in value and halving in transactions in 2011, seeing many projects die as well. Yet it came back with a vengeance.

Thanks for trying to keep it alive cc001  :-*

I'll try and see if we can sustain adding this too to the project. If its only server issues, I am glad to host this for you.
Please do let me know if there's space for any sort of collaboration.

Hey guys,

We are already in the works of launching SAE  2.0 (old stuff, new front end, added features).
I'll try and see if we can sustain adding this too to the project. If its only server issues, I am glad to host this for you.
Please do let me know if there's space for any sort of collaboration.

Regards

Great news!!  :)
