I cant understand, if 1.2.5b version only erases the 7 outgoing transactions of the BTER address 10715382765594435905 (hack transactions and next), why dont release a new version for every people 1.2.6=1.2.5b and one problem less...

I am not judging MGW operators but good security is an ongoing process which is VERY difficult to maintain. The problem with BTER, poloniex, mintpal and many other exchanges is that they have too many coins and it is difficult not to make a mistake once in a while. There are just so many attack vectors. Look at Graviton, who can say he is not careful? and he has only a few trading pairs. Sorry but i am not trusting a bunch of amateurs doing exchange security. If you are not hacked yet, it is because hacker do not care for you YET.

The hacker clearly showed that same passphrase was used for multiple accounts...even same as the server account.

You don't keep 50 million nxt BELONGING TO OTHER PEOPLE in an account with the same password you use with for your other accounts.

Am I wrong in this?

P.S. We are all customers of Bter I think we deserve better.

So if it is that Luc is creating a new NRS that freezes the account and makes it only able to transfer to a certain account. With NO other accounts being affected. I say DO EET. It doesn't affect any others other than the BTER and hacker account.

Also regular transactions that timed out will be cancelled, which could damage trust in the blockchain.

Because that would be a centralised decision. This is the decentralised way, every forger can decide what action they support. Majority rules.

forgers, we really need to upgrade to 1.2.5b to prevent to funds getting out from the hacked account.

please help us to use this version:

[bitbucketlink]

Pls link to the thread, not the file. Erase the direct link pls, and ppl don't click it.

It's not that I don't (or do) trust you, freeworm, it's just that we've experienced certain problems caused by NRS links in quotes before.  ;)

But it can be a centralised decision, because it is not a rollback... It is something like a bug fix or similar...

As far as I understand it (I'm not a techie), it is a rollback. Some transactions that have nothing to do with the theft will still be cancelled. I have no idea how many, what the volume of those would be.

What provides more confidence for crypto newbs?

50mill NXT was stolen once and never returned (what people can steal that much and get away with it wtf?!??!)

or

50mill NXT was once stolen and the community worked together in retrieving it back and so noone was harmed by the theft.

But here tho go rambling about it is not decentralized bblablabla srsly if you lost money you will talk differently

I am losing money because of this.

You think having 50mill NXT floating around with a hacker wont be more damaging than a minute rollback? Decentralization doesn't mean inability to cooperate on community objectives.

There are only 7 outgoing transactions from BTER address: http://nxtreporting.com/?ac=10715382765594435905, so only these transactions are erased with the 1.2.5b, if I have understood the issue in the right way...

I am working on bugfixes so expect 1.2.5c soon.

Later the BTER account can be unfrozen and an outgoing transaction allowed to a specified account only, so that those funds can be returned to BTER.

I believe if nothing is changed (the transfer from bter to hacker nxt account isn't removed) then the 1.2.5 is still the main one, if not then the 1.2.5b/1.2.5c/etc is the new main one.
