We'll come up with solutions a la TESLA over time

Sounds good. Will JINN be designed as a clockless processor due it's asynchronous nature?

Yes. This makes it more energy efficient and  adaptable to the environments it'll be in. Now with the industrial IoT there will suddenly be processors in areas where they haven't been before which requires better protection against heat and radiation. Bonus of async is that even if a part of the processor gets damaged, the rest does not automatically fall apart, like in synchronous processors.

Only the JINN shares portion of it. The Bitcoin will be on the bitcoin blockchain.

Hi Triangle,

Based on my observation since the announcement, the overall reaction has been pretty bland. To have a good numbers of users on board in the very beginning to be enthusiastically start the Iota nodes and network (which is important), I will boldly suggest that Iota team put aside a small amount of Iota coins as a free gift to the Jinn assets holders proportionally based on the amount of Jinn assets they have.

For instance, put aside 5% of Iota coins as the gift. 5% will probably be a small amount comparing to the coins you will sell. But it can bring 200+ royal users and marketers to you in the very beginning. Most of them will probably keep their coins and not dump right away since they have kept Jinn assets for so long and are pretty royal to this project. Many of them will be very likely to run nodes for the Iota network.

I guess if you show this gesture to the assets holders, they will be very happy to do their best to support Iota and the network. In the mean time, most of them will still buy (or swap) Iota coins in the crowd sale because most of them will only get  a small amount of coins as the gift. For the few large assets holders, I think they will still buy more too if they want to buy at all.

Just for your consideration.

Hey,

We appreciate any kind of suggestions and interest in ensuring IOTAs success.

I don't feel like the reception has been bland at all, over 95% are enthusiastically positive and there has been some good technical questions posed, of which we have been shown right everytime. The interest in China is picking up, thanks to our good friend Jimmy who is doing the translations and promotion in China. I am in touch with the biggest blockchain communities behind the scenes to kickstart a coordinated effort to find overlap between the different coins. I am reaching out to more and more people and there will be articles written about IOTA soon etc. etc.

Keep in mind that we *just* launched, it has been less than 4 days since the announcement.

As for your suggestion: it's not a bad one, it's certainly something that would be useful in a lot of situations, but it's not fit for IOTA. The reason for this is that it is extremely important to us that distribution will be completely fair and that the community and future development of IOTA will be the based on consensus, not some top-down approach. It would cause a  big discentive amongst the majority of IOTA investors if JINN holders were given some bonus just because...

As for building a strong base of people that are motivated  to boost IOTA, that is definitely the challenge for all tokens, but we firmly believe that the best way is to let people purchase their tokens and then they automatically have an incentive to keep them useful. Of course this is contingent upon reaching a big audience, which we plan to.

You are probably right. Even the reaction for my suggestion is pretty bland among Jinn asset holders. You probably need new blood for Iota.

As long as you think you will have a decent user base, you will be fine. It seems it has not emerged yet. But you still have time. Hopefully you guys can recreate the user participating scenario like the early Nxt time.

We are making progress in every area and at the end of September we will have our first hardware components for testing back from MOSIS. That is what we are *really* excited about, as this will be the first true test that'll enable us to start making some predictions on how long it'll be before we can have a fully functional physical prototype.

Website has been done for awhile now, so as soon as that tutorial is finished and the major bugs ironed out (we're talking days) everything will go from stealth to public, active and ready to roll.

Can you please tell us something more about hardware testing.
Thanks

I have a question on IOTA. Will you make its crowdsale on the NXT asset exchange?

Only the JINN shares portion of it. The Bitcoin will be on the bitcoin blockchain.

No need to worry about the legal issue of crowd fundraising any more in US - SEC Approves Title III of JOBS Act, Equity Crowdfunding with Non-Accredited

Not true at all.

Unless the crowdfunding is done by an approved Crowdfunding platform, it's still not legal

Quote
Crowdfunding Platforms

Title III equity crowdfunding transactions will be required to take place through an SEC-registered intermediary, either a broker-dealer or a funding portal. Under the proposed rules, the offerings would be conducted exclusively online through a platform operated by a registered broker or a funding portal, which is a new type of SEC registrant.

The proposed rules would require these intermediaries to:

    Provide investors with educational materials.

Take measures to reduce the risk of fraud.

Make available information about the issuer and the offering.

Provide communication channels to permit discussions about offerings on the platform.

Facilitate the offer and sale of crowdfunded securities.

The proposed rules would prohibit funding portals from:

Offering investment advice or making recommendations.

Soliciting purchases, sales or offers to buy securities offered or displayed on its website.

Imposing certain restrictions on compensating people for solicitations.

Holding, possessing, or handling investor funds or securities.

So, NXT can be used (nowhere in this is stated what the platform should be), but the platform making the shares available must still comply by these rules.

Could we get an update on the progress of Jinn so we can make an educated decision as far as trading JINN tokens for IOTA?
