FYI, ForkedChain is working on fork detection too (Nxt Health Monitor). I don't know anything else  ;D Thought you might be able to help each other.

im also programming fork detection and block orphan detection into the whole thing {his forging pool}, so it should be 100% smooth automatic operation, none of this BS where exchanges temp "lose" your withdrawal and you have to contact them for resolution.  this happens because NXT does occasionally fork, and sometime it happens when people are requesting withdraw.

NHZ is doing 'node coin' - they just cut out the coin and reward in NHZ as part of their distribution strategy.

Interestingly they are doing it just for hallmarked nodes with the peer port accessible for inbound connections - this means the node can be checked regularly by a bounty server and the hallmark identifies the NXT account to receive the reward.

This would work for NXT too - but reward in some other redeemable token, so we could start with this and then think about a solution for the non-hallmarked nodes /non-public nodes for which something like the node-coin james built could be useful.

Remember nodecoin?
I think it inspired NEM's PoI, but without more details I cant be sure

Anyway, now that NXTservices will be running on mainnet I was going to enable nodecoin mining by default for those that run NXTservices. Since there is a fixed number of nodecoins per block, the fewer people that are testing NXTservices, the more nodecoins each person testing will get.

Even though NXTservices is in beta, these are the real nodecoins.
Please no complaints about all the nodecoin whales who will be earning them by helping test NXTservices (and they also help the NXT network at the same time)

I should have a nodecoin enabled release a few days after I get some useful test results on NXTsync as I need it to properly implement nodecoin.
