How to start minter for MacOSX with Wesely's client?
« on: January 11, 2015, 04:25:33 pm »

I am wondering how to start the minter under MacOSX using Wesely's client? The minter.sh is part of the app's package and is not accessible over the terminal. Is there a way to start the minter (after configuring the nxt.properties file) from inside the client?

I don´t know how this works with the Standalone App, this is for Terminal activated App.

After installing 1.4.7.1 Client open "config" Directory in the nxt Folder.
Duplicate the file nxt-default.properties and name the other one nxt.properties

Open nxt.properties with TextEdit and
find #### MINT #### Section (nearly at the End)

Configure like this:

nxt.mint.serverAddress=localhost
nxt.mint.currencyCode=SILVR
nxt.mint.secretPhrase=your passphrase
nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=100
(attention here if you put a small number for example 0.01 instead of 1 you will end up paying more nxt fees, read Additional Best Practices below)
nxt.mint.threadPoolSize=0
nxt.mint.initialNonce=0
nxt.mint.isSubmitted=true

Save + Exit

Open Terminal and navigate to your nxt Folder.
(nxt Client should already be running)
write: bash mint.sh

You should be mining now.

Be careful with
nxt.mint.unitsPerMint=100

Everytime you "find a Block" you´re charged 1 nxt!

So if you find a lot of Blocks increase 100 to 1000 or more, if you can´t find one decrease it to 10 or 1.

It'll be added to the UI, but for now, the sh file is accessible, since an app is simply a folder. If you right click on the app, and choose show package contents, you can see this and navigate the folder structure. Then copy this structure to the terminal.
