[ANN] DailyTrade
December 10, 2014, 08:40:13 am

Announcing: DailyTrade
a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of KNS.

Asset ID: 18198254847979167603
Distribution Account: NXT-NXJM-ULEQ-GAR2-6EXHV

I originally wanted to call this "DailyIncome", but the NXT AE does not allow 11 character names for assets. :(

DailyTrade is a service which averages out weekly and monthly income from general investing, creating stable and predictable daily payments.

DailyTrade is reliable, like your morning cup of coffee. Start the trading session fresh with a nice fat dividend payment from DailyTrade!

Our IPO Strategy:
a) KNS will donate 25,000 shares of SafeHash to kickstart the fund.
b) We will sell at 1 NXT and invest the proceeds into various income producing assets at our discretion.

Our Cashflow and Payments Strategy:
a) Payout ratio of 95% or greater.
b) Payments received by DailyTrade will be amortized into the future. I.E. weekly payments will be paid out over a 7 day period.
c) A chart will be published showing past and future payments (see FAQ).

Shutdown Strategy:
When all shares of DailyTrade have been sold, DailyTrade will reduce or cease paying it's dividend and will begin repurchasing shares at market at no more than 100 NXT per share, with any and all remaining income.
Shares repurchased in this way will be destroyed by sending them to the genesis block.

RISKS:
  • There is no guarantee that we will be able to repurchase your shares at any price. There may be situations which cause you to lose money which are beyond our control.
  • There may be other, undisclosed risks, or risks we are not aware of at this time.
  • We can not be made responsible for any losses which arise from your choice to invest or not invest in DailyTrade.
  • Should you lose money by your choice to invest or not invest, you agree to not hold the issuer liable for your losses.
  • Not insured. No bank guarantee. May lose value.

These terms and conditions may be changed at any time with or without notice to shareholders and investors.

Shares received, thanks.

I topped it up a bit so I would have enough to get a dividend. That's more than a hundred shares for those who were wondering.

Hello. I am travelling an extra day overseas on business and therefore will make the DailyTrade payment for the 16th in about 8-10 hours. Then I will follow with the 17th's payment. Sorry for the delay. Delays like this will happen from time to time infrequently (maybe once a month).

Overall, developments are going well and there will be positive news for the funds when I get back :)

Re: [ANN] DailyTrade
December 19, 2014, 07:52:39 am

I'm having problems connecting to the NXT network on my wifi here. I'm a little worried about security using public internet, so I am going to have to delay payments until possibly the 25th which is when I will be back home.

If someone can help me understand the NXT client a little more it would enable me to make payments sooner. I'm under the impression that when you run the stock NRS, you can connect to a port in your web browser, and the client is entirely in Javascript. Does this mean that when I type in my password it is not sent to the client, but stored locally on the computer I am using? In that case I could probably try to find a better wifi somewhere or try to take my laptop to an internet cafe. But I am not sure, I can't take the risk that the password would be transmitted over the network and would be captured otherwise.

I posted a message about this in the support and help forum but no one seems to have an answer. I'm sorry but there is little I can do, except delay payments until I get back.

I can't understand why I am not getting any peers, if I can browse the web I surely should be able to connect to a NXT peer somehow. Maybe there could be some kind of emergency mode or wifi mode that allows you to manually connect to a client. It would be really helpful.

Open to any advice or help which can get me paying sooner.

Re: [ANN] DailyTrade
December 25, 2014, 08:50:04 pm

I'm going to pay the DailyTrade dividends for the last 10 days and until Monday all at once (16th to 29th, i.e. 0.14 per share).

Although I am not responsible for this mess with LTCgear, I've decided to forgo my own payments from DailyTrade for now. We're still launching and I'd like to conserve money to make sure we can keep making payments into the future. Let's hope Chris pulls it together this week and we can become self-sufficient!

I have also placed a bid at 0.99999 in case anyone would like to sell. I guess it's a bad time to launch this fund, but I have high hopes for the future. There's no problem if you sell now and invest elsewhere. When things clear up you can buy back in, if that's what you want to do.

Questions and comments are welcome!

I know it kind of goes against the idea of the asset, but I think it is at least worth considering, that dividends would be paid weekly, and not daily.

Daily dividends are really great, but the amounts are so small, that transaction fees are huge (proportionally). We, the shareholders, are basically paying 7 times more transaction fees, just for the benefit of getting paid daily, instead of weekly. Somehow that feels inefficient to me.

That being said, I don't know if this asset should be changed or not. There are of course lots of other assets with weekly dividends. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

No you're right, I've been considering some changes as well. I like the idea of a daily pay asset, but it seems to have been a bad time to start it. Right now we have to wait until Jan 2nd. to start making payments. Hopefully LTCgear.com will fix things and we can go from there.

So if we were to make any changes to DailyTrade, it would likely be in the direction of diversifying out of LTCgear. If we did that the daily payments would not be 0.01 but more likely a lot less-- perhaps 0.0005 or so. That's a big difference. It's not to late to change the rules, or to make weekly payments, but it's something I will have to think about. First I think I will wait until we see what is going on with LTCgear. If all is fine in January there won't be a need to change anything.

I still don't see Dividends+ in the main release. But the promise of 1 NXT dividend payments has attracted me greatly. I just downloaded SuperNET 1.4.9.1 and will be experimenting with it.

Since Daily still has 35,000 shares of SafeHash it will have some leeway to work with into the future, it's not a dead asset at all, it just wasn't making any money until now.

If we can pay all the shareholders with just one transaction, that will enable DailyTrade to finally get off the ground. Looks like I was a month late but we're good to go now!

Re: [ANN] DailyTrade

Ok. The first payment of 263.34 has been received from SafeHash. I'm very upset about not having any sort of notification of dividend payments with the dividend payment feature in the client. I am hoping this will be fixed with a later release. I will rely on the prying eyes of my loyal shareholders to help me catch any mistakes.

The 263.34 will be amortized over seven days as follows:
(263.34-7)/7

(January) 24th: 36.62
25th: 36.62
26th: 36.62
27th: 36.62
28th: 36.62
29th: 36.62
30th: 36.62

I will shortly make a nice looking chart and sticky it. On the 31st we expect another payment from SafeHash and will amortize that as well.

Re: [ANN] DailyTrade

Change of terms. Mainly in payout strategy. I'll keep reinvestment low for now, around 2%, and not take any fees. Our fees will be the assets remaining after the asset closes (see: shutdown strategy).

Payout schedule listed in FAQ (and at nxtnews.ca/dailytrade/sched.png). I'll look at a way to do this in google spreadsheets instead of excel or something else more convenient.

I've just calculated payments of 0.0008 per day (with reinvestment) as over 33% per year.

Not too shabby, let's see where I can leverage this in the coming weeks!
