[Android SDK] Dev wanted to Android Wallet support
« on: June 10, 2014, 04:30:33 pm »

Nxt has an Android Wallet >>> https://nxtforum.org/alternative-clients/%28windowsandroid%29-%28nxtqq%29-nxt-client

Or should I say had  ;D btc2nxt is very busy testing Automated Transactions (more important) so doesn't have time to update it.

btc2nxt needs someone to take up this project to get it implemented faster. Tech Dev Bounty will be available, I am sure (not secured at time of writing tho, I will apply now  ;D )

Thanks  ;D

Design is ready for the app pages, if you want to use the Nxt corporate design.

What is the current status of the Android client, and what needs to be done? What kind of timeframe are we on?

I have Android experience, so I could potentially help out depending on the details.

Hi

Thanks for stepping up  ;D The project has had a working client (might only have been beta) that you a can look at in >> https://nxtforum.org/alternative-clients/%28windowsandroid%29-%28nxtqq%29-nxt-client

Since then, with hard fork changes, it is now broken. btc2nxt is the only one who know ths full details. I would PM him, let him know you are interested and he can fill you in. Let us know how you get on  ;D

I would be able to build an Android client using parts of my code from NXTSolaris. The good thing would be that the client would then sign all transactions itself and be able to safely connect to public NRS nodes. I'll investigate how feasible this is technically, estimate the timeline and think about funding.

Will it be open source?

Seriously: You mean just like NXTSolaris is? Yes, it would be open source.

Sorry, I knew you were making it open source but lost the progress I the megathread  :) Hope you weren't seriously insulted.

Not many people know this but (besides from NRS of course) NxtSolaris was the first Nxt client I ever used  ;D

Edit: I have had a think and I may be thinking of someone else, mistaken identity  :-[

Cool, but now where I can down NXTSolaris?

Since the last released version is no longer compatible with the NRS API, I've removed the download from https://nxtsolaris.wordpress.com/ .

You can find the last release version including the source code here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23825856/NXTclient/hidden/NXTSolaris-v2.3-Win64bit.zip

NxtQQ cantain two different applications: one runs in Windows Platform, this is heavy client; one runs in Android ,this is a light client with client signing.
NxtQQ supported Chinese and English, for many Chinese have poor english.

there are several things to do:

1. design a nice GUI.
2. wallet
3. client signing.
4. implement Nxt API.

Design is ready for the app pages, if you want to use the Nxt corporate design.
https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/a-global-corporate-design/msg31025/

it is very nice.  Let's implement this GUI first.

Just as an update, I have been in touch with btc2nxt and have started work on an Android client using the apenzl design.

I know marcus03 is doing his think with raising money on the AE, but I'm going to keep going down this route for the time being to see where it gets me. Hopefully the Tech Dev Committee will still have interest in funding this.

The design is not mine, but Ideenfrische's.  ;)

Great to finally see this moving.
btc2nxt and marcus03 have been in contact, afaik. I don't know the outcome in details, but obviously both are moving now.  :)
