There's discussion about stress testing the Nxt network (needs to be mainnet, not testnet). I'd like to help, but I'm a poor shibe small stakeholder and can't afford to spend much. And if we *really* want to stress test the network, even larger stakeholders will feel the pinch, I reckon. Could we get funding from InfCom to cover tx fees?

This post was totally not inspired by chairman EvilDave. No sirree. Pinky swear.

Once we understand the testing that is proposed we will consider this but not on an individual user basis and some of this will I expect be testnet where the NXT runs free...

Yeah I think there needs to be a testnet run first before the real thing.

make a site which use API to send messages or issue assets or send NXT rapidly.

As for nodes, one node on DigitalOcean costs 0.015$/hour. On linode/aws/azure the price is about the same. So to run 50 VM's for 24 hours, it'd take about 20$.
Just putting numbers how much it might cost.

The time commitment will be worth many times more. ;)

If and when we decide to run a stress test on Mainnet, with Tx fees, I'd be happy to cover the costs from InfCom funds, as suggested by Zahlen.

On bcdevs request for funding for VPS hire to extend the TestNet, I think we can cover the 20 bucks  ::)
I'd prefer to see a messy, heterogenous TestNet, though, with as many different configurations/platforms as possible, not just 50 instances of the same VPS.

As usual, if people are putting serious amounts of time into this, there should be some sort of reward on offer. ;)
But I don't want to fall into the typical Nxt trap (and we do this a lot!) of starting something enthusiastically and then getting bogged down in details.
So, lets not worry too much about financing details, but lets just bang into setting up a decent sized TestNet and getting an initial test run carried out.
After that, we will have a pretty good idea of how much work/time a test involves, and can make bounties/payouts/future plans based on that.
