Thanks a lot - solved  :)

Thank you to everyone who has supported our team and the Janus project. We have come to a decision that it’s best for all parties to end the token sale as it stands in it’s current form. We have added an option in your accounts to save a BTC or NXT address on the site that will be used to send refunds back to you. The Nxt Foundation will then receive information about the amount you deposited, and the wallet address you supply to send your investment back. You’ll have up to 45 days to make the request, but we ask that you make it a priority so we can get this finished in short time. Visit www.janustoken.com and log into your account to add your refund addresses.

Has the bolded part already been carried out?

Hi LiQio, that´s correct. It was accomplished a few months ago.

-Luis.

Thanks Luis.
What should one do when the refund payment was not made?
"Your refund has not been processed yet!" is the text I see on https://janustoken.com/tokensale/invest.

Great work coretechs - nice design, "enticing" and beginner friendly - keep it up!

How many IOTAS will be distributed in this pre-sale?  Is there a hard limit to how many will ever be created?

AFAIK all ever created (=999'999'999 tokens) will be distributed. I'm not sure about unclaimed coins (someone paid with BTC or JINN and didn't do the collect procedure or did it somehow wrong during the 3 months), but I guess they will be added to everyone's stake proportionally.

Is there a time limit on when you can collect the tokens?  In the collect procedure we're  creating an address to receive the tokens.  How will we be able to access our accounts on the IOTA network and when?

Collecting: I believe 22nd of December plus 90 days.
Access: Through the password you chose.
When: Don't know the date. CfB put it like this: "I think we won't need to wait for 3 months, it's enough to have majority claiming their iotas and GUI ready." (source https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1262688.msg13387887#msg13387887)

@Fatih87SK: The pre-sale is over.

Step 2:
Collect iota via collect.iotatoken.com after the sale ends. We'll require that you send the string from atoi.exe from the same amount that you deposited from to prove your ownership.

Should probably be "same account" in step two.
Can we send any amount? (IIRC it was stated long ago, that we would have to send all tokens in possession at block 54xxxx or the like)

Wow, seems like I have a lot of catching up in front of me...

Just two quick questions:
A) Was the API changed from version 1.6.1e to 1.6.2?
B) Is it correct that reversing my public node (with open API) to version 1.5.15 would hardly harm anyone but might help several projects?

(I apologize because I'm sure this was answered already, but I'm not such a fast reader)

Edit: Downgraded my node with open API to 1.5.15 for the time being.

Not a bad idea at all.
At the very least it will enhance visibility.
Combine with links :)

new games and promotional in BTT Nxt proposed by @Realbitcoin
if you have an account BTT add avatar Nxt to your account
Funny idea @Realbitcoin, i play  ;D ;D

One way would be of course to put up an NXT avatar and personal text, everybody.

I have already done this and hopefully it will attract more people into NXT!  ;)

We could "enrich" RealBitcoins avatar marketing campaign with some economic incentives (= win 10k NXT)

TL;DR
we would need
1. someone reliable and with some spare time for managing this game (salary 5k NXT)
2. users who post on Bitcointalk, have a Nxt-avatar and prove it here (in a separate thread) can win 10k NXT
(15k sponsored by me, others free to add more)

Full version
Prize money: 10k NXT for the winner
(5k NXT for the organizer, currently don't have the time)

Requirements to participate:
- NXT avatar on Bitcointalk
- prove it with a screenshot of a current and useful post on Bitcointalk
- winning chance depends on your activity-level, but everybody has a chance

Lottery terms:
total lottery tickets = sum of all individual activities
individual range = end of previous range plus own Bitcointalk activity (assuming a concatenation of individual activities)
range order = order of screenshots posted here on this forum
draw = random number chosen by https://www.random.org/integers/ (min. 1, max. sum of all activities)
win = if number drawn is in your individual range
(disqualified if at the time of the drawing the avatar is not a Nxt-avatar anymore)

Example
participants: user1 (activity 374), user2 (activity 120), user3 (activity 864)
total lottery tickets = sum of all activities = user1's activity + user2's activity + user3's activity = 1358
user1's chance of winning = (user1's activity / sum of all activities) = 374 / 1358 = 27.5%

assuming that the users registered for the lottery in the following order: user1 before user2 before user3
their individual ranges would be:
user1 -> 1 to 374
user2 -> 375 to 494
user3 -> 495 to 1358

assuming further that the random number drawn is 211 then user1 would be the winner

Run time t.b.d., e.g. 10 days to 2 weeks (activity-levels go up every 14 days I believe)

Thoughts? Volunteers?

Edit: Just for clarity, you need just one post to participate (additional posts have no influence), but more "mature" members (=higher activity level number) have a better chance of winning.

Hi lopalcar

I own only 80 shares, but sounds fine to me.

Asset Exchange / Missing dividends / How to track incoming dividends
« on: November 04, 2015, 06:13:08 am »
Hi everyone

What's the best way to verify/see/track incoming dividends?

I (NXT-7LUC-22LJ-5WJ4-22222) own e.g. 80 HdgFundNXT and lopalcar issued a dividend with transaction id 399094832439252659 yesterday (https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=10173.msg198794#msg198794)
When opening my account the last transaction is dated November first - why don't I see the payment?

Another example is the last DeBuNe dividend tx-id 16854565318260077093 (https://nxtforum.org/debune/second-debune-dividend-paid!/) - there's no payment to my account on 23rd of September.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers, LiQio

Just stumbled across this PDF:
http://bitfury.com/content/4-white-papers-research/2-proof-of-stake-vs-proof-of-work/pos-vs-pow-1.0.2.pdf

The conclusion is of course no surprise  ;)
But maybe someone can use it for something.

TL;DR: A business that relies on PoW supports PoW.
I am shocked, I tell you.

Haha, yeah for a fraction of a second I thought, they would replace this

with this

I'm not really wikipedia savvy, but I agree, that the reference section lists a lot of internal sources. Therefore I can partly understand the discussion.
On the other hand, not being present on wikipedia would be a bit of a shame (even more for wikipedia than NXT ;-)).
NXT is the first 100% PoS "coin", not a fork, widespread, active in development and a leader in blockchain tech - so, come on wikipedia this is ridiculous!

Some other external links, where NXT is mentioned:

NRS Client Helpdesk / Re: Can't get NXT client to open right
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:31:24 am »
Run the following command from a command prompt:
Code: [Select]
netstat -bna > netstat.log
Open netstat.log and look for port 7876 to see which program has allocated this port.
Kill this program and restart NXT.

as an addition, if you feel more comfortable with a GUI, try http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.html

NRS - Official Nxt Releases / Re: NRS v1.5.15
« on: September 05, 2015, 03:55:51 pm »
That is a destroyed (= sent to the genesis account) NXT.

It is now null in the DB/API for performance reasons

https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-2-1e
Quote
To improve database performance, transactions that do not have a recipient now
have null instead of the genesis account id as recipient in the transactions
table. Such transactions will also not have a recipient field in their JSON.

Since you know so much about NXT, ;),can I want ask you another question.

What's is EC BLOCK and why we need it in blockchain?

Thanks, but I don't know a lot about NXT (I'm not smart enough)

EC is the abbreviation for Economic Clustering. This is about all I know.
Maybe you find out more using the search function of the forum, or check the release notes (folder changelogs of NXT releases) or wait until one of the smart guys answers  ;)
