Since this seems to be an extra asset (asset ID???) - how do NXTTY hodlers profit from that if at all?

As far as I can see this is not an Asset, but a Monetary System Coin ( token ).

The index is published for the benefit of the general crypto community and will indirectly open the Nxtty name to a far larger audience.

NxttyACCI will be trade-able once phase 2 deployment is complete.

To answer your above question...No.

NxttyACCI market value is based on the aggregate market value of the 20 cryptocurrencies which make up the index.  The supply & demand situation of the 20 cryptos is what will increase the index price or push it down.

If the alts are going to boom if btc dies or boom if btc booms, then is there an advantage in holding Nxtty over holding NXT.

So it gains only if the average of the top ten out perform nxt.

That is why i would like to see it hold a little more weight in the chosen top four alts with diverse or interesting strategies or ideas..

eg less holding of btc and Lightcoin even though they are higher up their percent of gain maybe less.

(2) So you said "NxttyACCI will not be sent to exchanges". However, nxttycoin on BTER exchange are held in NXT Addresses. Aren't those addresses already created in the NXT Monetary System? if they are, then ACCI will still be credited to those NXT Addresses? but it won't exist on BTER exchange since there won't be any registry or data about ACCI on BTER's Database. Wouldn't there be some kind of conflict regarding ownership? its like BTER's NXT Addresses owns people's ACCI and these people have no access to their ACCI?

Once the index is fully deployed.....there will be simultaneously buy & sell walls at all specific index price points published to the Nxt blockchain.  In the screenshot below the index price point is 97.26924264 NXT ....which is the USD price of 0.671698 at that specific point in time. 

NxttyACCI does not use a points system such as the S&P 500 & Dow Jones Industrial instead we use a USD equivalent.  In the example below the USD price point at which the index is located is 0.671698 US cents reflected in the Nxt system as 97.26924264 NXT coins.

- would you update the buy and sell walls manually? What frequency?

- whether the publication of the index price is manual or automatic, the traders will still have the advantage of knowing the true value of the index over the issuer in between the updates of walls. That leaves the issuer in a poor position; traders can just buy right before the updates if the real time index is up, and they can resell right after the updates. This can be done indefinitely, assuming the time of updates is known. Thoughts around this?

- my bigger question around all this is, how do you(issuer) buy the sells, financially speaking? I mean, How much money is dedicated for this to work, especially the first batch of units that are distributed for free to the holders (thanks for that). I wonder what is wrong with Bter. never mind how long it takes. but the fact that it has >55 million nxttycoins in its NXT address, i don't see how is there a problem trying to withdraw just some 1000s of nxttycoins. its this NXT address: NXT-LVKY-Q9KY-5Q2Z-AV9JA

You can check out the wallet's contents, what assets it holds, etc...at NXT Monetary System. so according to Landomata, ACCI won't be sent to exchanges. BUT you see, Bter has an NXT Address too and it exists in the NXT Monetary System too. So if none of those 55 million nxttycoins gets moved, won't Bter have like about 44 million ACCI 2 weeks from today??? Unless of course NXT Addresses tied to exchanges aren't part of the ACCI Distribution, then that's fine. but it would be for the best if it is included and Bter has plans to add ACCI to their exchange and all accounts holding nxttycoins will be updated accordingly.

But i'm not gonna put my fingers on that.

If we send to the Bter wallet then the NxttyACCI will be under the control of bter and not the actual owners of the Nxttycoin.

i believe its for testing purposes. and i believe that NRS wallet is responsible for distributing ACCI to all nxtty holders.

We're in the crypto-world my friend. If your assets could vanish without your consent (or at least without you having to input your private key) then this forum would have been long abandoned by now.

My guess - ACCI is a more like a bonus/incentive for nxttycoin holders and you get to keep your nxttycoin.

1) It will be automated...the specific publish frequency might be constant or randomized within a specific time band of lets say 1-5 minutes.  The first step to automation is constant 1 minute block times which we will have after 621000. 

2) There are ways to resolve this issue..one of those can be automation.  Also we will eventually try to get as real time as possible but unlike tradition markets where you have markets that close and open the crypto market is constant; 24/7.  The market is always changing and this presents unique problems and opportunities. 

3) Buy/sells walls are dependant on the amount of NXT in the account so initially the buy/sell walls will be limited as larger trades take place the walls will grow accordingly.  The issuing account is actually an automatic market maker...meaning at all index publish price points there will be liquidity for buy/sell trades whether those trades are big or small.

Technically you are....if we work hard and market the Index thereby growing awareness/demand/liquidity then I see no reason you couldn't sell your ACCI holdings for a good profit.

To make sure NxttyACCI is always in line with the market movements of 20 crypto's that make up the index, the ACCI price level must be published to the blockchain at regular intervals.  The publishing of the ACCI price level is a basic function and must be done whether there is trading of ACCI or not. 

To publish ACCI price levels to the blockchain the publishing account (Issuing account) must have Nxt balance to pay the fees....to maintain the continuous running of the publishing engine the nxt balance in the account must not fall below a certain level.  Publishing the ACCI price level is 50% of the process...to actually register the ACCI price level on the blockchain a buy or sell transaction must also take place.  Both the publishing & buy/sell transactions need to pay nxt fee. 

With the enabling of ACCI trading the automated market maker comes into play...its main function is to manage the buy/sell wall by monitoring liquidity levels in the account...for example:

We have a liquidity floor of 1000 nxt...below 1000 nxt the automated market maker will only maintain a maximum SELL wall of 1 ACCI for the publishing engine to sell into....once there is buying and the account balance has increased to 2000 nxt then the market maker will increase the size of the SELL wall.

New balance - liquidity floor = surplus liquidity

2000 - 1000 = 1000 Nxt

Surplus liquidity/ACCI price level = open SELL wall quantity

1000/100 = 10 ACCI   ....so the new SELL wall will be 11 ACCI (10 + 1)

The automated market maker monitors and adjusts the size of the BUY/SELL walls depending on what is happening in the market.

There is a small MS bug which is causing the delay we are already working with the core dev's to resolve it.

You guys should really consider making this index a succes, which will benefit you a whole lot more in the longer run.
Rather then trying to cash out quickly and crashing this ingenious piece of technology.
Cashing out will put a lot of pressure on the price and will chase away new investors.
You have to make sure the market is liquid enough to trade the index.

1) We are planning some NxttyACCI currency polls which will outline parameters and rules for imposing Account Control on the ACCI issuing account.

2) The MS bug mentioned in my previous post has been resolved....we look forward to smooth trading within a day or two.

So...if my math is right, one NxttyACCI is currently worth $1.35 on CMC.  Multiply that by the amount created (800,756,647) and you have a market cap of $1,081,021,473 and some change.

That puts us (once CMC updates the available supply and cap) squarely in the #2 spot of ALL crypto...just behind Bitcoin...and a market cap nearly twice that of Ethereum...with the potential on going higher (and of course...lower) depending on the ALT market performance.

That should grab people's attention.  Question is...will they bite?

No...   Realistically...this probably won't go anywhere.  I'd like to be proven wrong.  It would be nice to make Bitcoin 2013 like profits for once. 

Decent idea though.

I think the idea is great but it is a coin - currency with no money in it.

it just tracks other monies. so it is a derivative of these other markets.

I should then just buy and sell these alts as then i am sure i have the coins.

Its a strange idea.

So these coins are already given a value based on what.

You can buy any alts which make up the index instead of the index but over time you have the benefit of seeing the index performance and then you can compare what your return would have been over specific timeframes....NxttyACCI is only 2 months old, let us get couple years of performance data so that everyone can see how it performed against all the alts currently trading on the market.

Altcoins will come and go but the index will persist....the S&P 500 is decades old but the individual companies that make up the S&P 500 have changed beyond recognition.

NxttyACCI marketcap will always match the 20 altcoins which make up the index....this is by design ....how can an index not match the total market capitalization of its constituents?

Only the market maker (issuing account) can place buy & sell orders.  This process is automated and the buy/sell offers are based on the actually price level of the index.

Market maker has automated sells only. So you can buy but you sure as hell can't sell.

Sells will be activated once the minimum liquidity level of Nxt in the account is passed.

How much is minimum and which account?
